The Scottish Football Supporters’ Association (SFSA), an independent body of pan-club football fans, yesterday launched the first independent evaluation of Scottish football governance, at Holyrood.
The SFSA’s nationwide survey will assess, for the first time, supporters’ views on the current position of the game, including the performance of the game’s governing bodies in Scotland. The research will become an annual benchmarking & reporting exercise looking at all aspects of the game.
The SFSA’s online survey has been created in partnership with Prof. Dr. Axel Faix and Dr. Joachim Lammert, two experienced German academics who have undertaken similar evaluations on a national level in Germany and on a European level.
The SFSA, whose board includes former First Minister Henry McLeish; former MP and MSP Cathy Jamieson and Maureen McGonigle, Founder of Scottish Women in Sport and first female Scottish FA Council Member, has over 67,000 members supporting clubs across Scotland.
The SFSA is Scotland’s fans’ representative in The Football Supporters Europe network (FSE), an independent, representative and democratically organised grass-roots network of football fans’ in Europe with members in currently 48 countries across the continent.
You have invited to Have Your Say by getting involved with the project here.
Most importantly, you can participate in the survey itself here.

How do you know it was anything to do with the ‘Uni Ultras’ as you call them.
What University do they meet at, and i will investigate?
Lets get to the bottom of this:)

TGM
They meet in the Uni cafe on Byres road mate, that’s obvious is it no:))
Next year in Paradise we will raise the toast!

Any for a tramadol induced nap :-(
Is it safe to come out yet?
Since I got back from the game on Wednesday night i’ve been hiding in my house, too embarrassed to go out in case I meet some ordinary decent citizen whose sensibilities were shaken to the core by that flagrant display of wanton terror endorsement by those pesky GB kids. All those upstanding superiors out there who I feel ashamed to see or meet now.Oh,the indignity of it all. We’ve brought shame on this limitlessly fair minded and progressive country.
Hopefully the trauma we’ve visited upon these precious offended isn’t acute enough to prevent them from continuing their Orange odyssey for decades to come.
Has UEFA been endorsed as Supreme Moral Guardians yet?No matter, just do what your told and don’t complain. It’s for your own good.
Any truth in the rumours the GB pyros are solely responsible for global warming?
Has Trump made anything great again yet?Apart from his nepotism.
Who killed cock robin?

Mine were, so I wrote to John Paul Taylor. He has replied saying that they have had other complaints and that he has referred the matter to the relevant department. We await developments…
Watchthemotors,
Got similar reply from JP, but he suggested that the volume would be turned down. We’ll wait and see right enough. (I just want to be able to talk to my mates at half time – not too much to ask for, eh?)
Had a convo with a Aberdeen fan today and told him about LG booking for holding up the buckie bottle, guy was flabbergasted .
Also told me JH was a much better player than RJ and RJ in his opinion was overrated.
Asked me about GMS and I told him he was a good player who looked a bit overwhelmed at times with the responsibility of the jersey when playing for us. I think GMS will do well there and hope he does, likeable character.
It wasn’t all positive, he did mention the need for a strong r****** for the benefit of scottish football.
Ministry of truth message works for some:(

Amnesia, its good for forgetting things:)
Im thinking of going out for a while, but its some carry on dragging that huge burden of shame.
Why why why, did they have to fly a banner, id have rather had Satan’s Bluidy Clawes round my neck, its that serious:)
Scarfs and banners, these inanimate objects are totally out of control, its outrageous, flapping about in the wind without a care, while the Huns set fire to the world, and pallets:)
I hope i never see such banner provocation again, it has nearly destroyed mankind.
A lucky escape, and no mistake:)

The following is nothing new,I’ve mentioned it before a few times. When strategy fuxup.
I took my Dad and my Uncle Jim to the Rennes match.
The family seats at the time were right beside the GB.
Both were in their 70s,both brought up wi The Rebs, both founder members of Ardrossan Garryowen CSC.
A club where you weren’t allowed on the bus if you didn’t know the songs, and what they were about.
But by 2011,we had all realised time and a place, and could be harsh in their judgement on that.
Believe me,there was no illicit singing that night. It was a trumped-up charge, brought by Eddie Smith. And imo prompted by a desire from the board to teach the GB a lesson.
A 1st year law student could have got us off,and even the judgement itself was begging for an appeal.
No,Celtic Plc wanted an example made.
Well,that worked out,eh?
Once you’ve got a record,you’re a recidivist.
Have the board EVER defended a charge,or appealed against any sanctions?
Erm,naw.
The GB are far from blameless-that’s why we moved!-but the board fucked up. It’s THEIR whirlwind.

So I take it that the banner about Scotty on the bonfire in Belfast was only a banner too.
Oops, apologies for the sweary at the end.

Yes – it is terrible. Not so much the volume, but more the fact that there is a delay / reverb in different sections of the ground.
Whoever is running the PA system needs to go back to school to learn how to do it properly. It has been poor for years and is getting progressively worse.
Also – the new surface is a joke – looks nice and flat until a player tries to turn on it, then big divots are pulled up. Was happening all over the field on Saturday and Wednesday.
Looks like Brendan never won the argument to get a top-level hybrid super-pitch (like Arsenal’s) laid – just new turf that hasn’t had enough time to put down a decent root system yet – hopefully this will remedy over time.

RE Green brigade banner..
I don’t subscribe to the idea that they are Uni Ultras. To be honest I don’t know them. I did go to University and attended pCeltic games at the time ( 30 years ago) but I don’t sense that Uni Campuses are hotbeds of Football radicalism.
My guess is that the GB will be made up of groups of pals from various backgrounds that are all Celtic enthusiasts who are like most young folk ..passionate about their pleasures.. Prone to a sense of rebellion..easily caught up in their current beliefs. As Curchill said… ‘If you are not liberal at 20 you’ve no heart and if your not conservative at 40 you’ve no brain’ I think he meant these terms as qualities rather than political party affiliation.
Young folk will always push boundaries.
Personally I’m a big supporter of their approach and enthusiasm. They take risks and sometimes they miscalculate. My solution to their banners would be to encourage displays on a designated place at the very periphery of the stadium. Wherever UEFA lose their power to punish.
That way they get to convey their message and the club avoids paying for their behaviour.
Overall they need to be supported as they support the club.
Provoked and Offended, Provoked and Offended, Provoked and Offended, Repeat Until Fade.
Yawn
Watched first half of City v Utd and Patrick was for the most part peripheral.
Utd had better team shape and City for the most part looked like a collection of individuals.
Patrick had a few moments but really not that involved.
He has the tools but from watching last nights game i’m not convinced he is suited to Peps team.vely
He takes risks and will on occasion lose the ball which with a team as defensively poor as City is a no no.
Bobby – indeed :-) Need to turn it up louder next to Wee BGFC then !

Bada – thanks – that’s great to know. I was really looking forward to seeing it – Brendan made a really big deal during the year about the poor playing surface. I assume then that the injection of the 2 million or so artificial grass strands will happen at winter. Natural roots should grow around those during spring / summer next year (if that is the system they have went for).

TBH I thought the GB made a huge mistake last season with the show of support for the people of Palestine but I’m honest and slightly ashamed to admit I was totally wrong.
My main concern was the potential punishment for Celtic Fc and I thought the ramifications of their actions could be hugey detrimental to my team.My worry was unfounded.
I’ve noticed the bravery of the GB being questioned on here rightly or wrongly but I personally think their peaceful show of support for the oppressed people in Palestine was pretty courageous considering the uefa implications at the time.
I’m praising the GB in this because IMO in the face of huge criticism/threats of fines etc they stood up for something they believe in knowing the potential consequences could be dire.
They did not back down, if only our board could
engender the same fortitude that the GB have shown then we wouldn’t be so reliant on the fans to force the change that we deserve!

VFR @ 1:08 … catching up …
FWIIW, when I read back, I figured there might be some blowback from some on here about your post , but, personally, didn’t see anything untoward about yourpost. It was factual.

I happened to speak to MSP at SFSA Launch of survey today who was trying to push through a repeal of the OBF act.
He was one unhappy bunny. GB behaviour making this a Physipphian task.
FAC who have worked really hard and who represent the best interests of the GB should be banging some heads together or give up and let the police wire in.
It’s not about the fines or Irishness etc. It’s about the sheer ill thought out folly of something that need never have been done.

the police should ‘wire in’?! given what the police have done to Celtic fans?! Not in my name!

Wire in?
For a moment please think about the conattations attached to that phrase in terms of police treatment
Personally I don’t give a a monkey’s about what the GB sing, chant or fly.
I do care that ultimately their conduct will lead to UEFA suspending Celtic from its competition.
Undoubtedly when that happens, the GB will lead the persecuted chorus.
Macjay that’s not like you

Okay would one of the Uni crowd or whomsoever please tell me what that means.

All the good things that they bring to the club, by far outweighs one or two minor misdemeanours.
In my humble opinion, obviously.
