Supreme Court gets to grips with Rangers Tax Case

438

I long ago promised to take nothing for granted regarding the Rangers Tax Case, as it confounded my predictions from the off, but with the matter underway today with its final arbiter, The Supreme Court, I’m prepared to go as far as to say: so far, so good.

There is a long way to go – so no one should be out celebrating a draw. The matter will not be settled by the performance of a QC on his feet, rather the finer points of law. Today has been interesting, so far, but we will hopefully be well into our next Champions League group stage games before we hear the outcome.

Alzheimer Scotland were in touch yesterday and asked me to send you this message:

celtic fans thank you (002)

I know they were enormously appreciative that Billy McNeill’s family decided to go public with his situation two weeks ago. The encouragement they have had since has fortified their efforts. Your donation of £3264 blew them away.

Thank you.

  3. Hi Bhoys,

Two of are heading over to Glasgow from Ireland for the Celtic v Sevco game on April 23 in Hampden Park. I’m not a Season Ticket holder and therefore will have little or no hope of getting my hands on a ticket (or two). If any of you Bhoys hear of any spares available, I’d be extremely grateful if you thought of me. Almore and CorkCelt can vouch for me, I’m a true Tim who travels over numerous times every year to see my beloved Hoops.

Haha… That guy who placed the bet with Corals was an absolute chancer who, if had used his knowledge (on sports betting) correctly, may well have been able to make a right few quid from the demise of Rangers IL.

Has to have been one of them, surely?

  6. Interesting morning in my first full day of employment with the Champions of Europe elect.

On arrival at the wonderful world of Auchenhowie I was afforded what I judge to have been the most Superior breakfast available on this planet. My Eggs Benedict were cooked to the standard that I expect my Pope would not even enjoy. The players, whom are not only be the best squad I have had the pleasure of managing but the best squad on this planet enjoyed a full healthy substantial bowl of coco pops each. The nutritional benefit to each player will raise their current superior energy levels to out of this world levels.

I managed to speak with my captain and even though the use of blue crayons on blue coloured paper is a new experience for me, I believe I learned that there is little improvement required to take this team to it’s next level. I am so impressed by the knowledge of the game each player was drawn to have by our Captain Superior.

King David and I then discussed my budget for improving the squad. We held our conference call over Rangers Then Rangers Now Rangers Forever Skype electronic football management system. I agreed with King David in his view that this current squad is the youngest, fittest and most skilful team ever assembled in the history of football, the history of Rangers Now Then Forever and since the Battle of the Boyne. We spoke of the teams outstanding performance on Sunday and agree that, although factually it is only one point, alternative facts demonstrate that this point gained is bigger and better than any point gained by any club ever and in due course the SPFL will correct the Premiership table to reflect that we are now the unquestionable champions.

I asked King David about the ongoing legal cases and how these may affect the player budget I already agreed I don’t require due to the superior squad at my disposal. King David informed me that there was nothing at red hand to worry about as the club is established and well lodged in all positions financially and legally. King David is in my view the most successful chairman of an engine room subsidiary I have dealt with. His honesty, dignity and integrity is without question of the highest standard of any human being living today or at any point in history.

My last appointment of the day was with James Traynor who provided the finer points of detail which I communicate to you now with the exception of my noting the discussion held with our captain using blue crayons and blue paper. I highlight this point to fortify my position that this club really has reached to the skies and Skype to accomplish all past historical victories and establish itself as the most successful world club team ever and on this day.

This afternoon I will meet the press men and woman who I will personally serve lunch to. I believe this action will create a raport that will last a managerial lifetime. I expect there will be many difficult questions put to me by these professionals and I intend to answer every question honestly. James Traynor and King David have both informed me that my responses will be aired on every TV station, Radio broadcast and written in every sports page as agreed in advance by them.

Due to my knowledge of the English language it will take me some time to get to grips with the fans songs. Therefor will in advance refuse to comment on any songs sung by The People who have taken me to their hearts in such a short space of time.

King David has also informed me that my request that a room be converted to a chapel is under consideration.

Bye for now and Hail! Hail! (I mean FOLLOW FOLLOW and FTP which King David and James informed me means Free The People and let them sing their songs or something like that.

    No them.

Three animal charities were left nearly half a million by a woman who had fallen out with her daughter some years before her death.

After ten years the animals keep the cash and the daughter gets 50 grand that was left to her

So the SC result will not come out until October?

Will the AGM be before or after that Decision is made? It’s been November the last two years but if the SC find for HMRC Celtic had better have explored the options with fellow clubs and have their position well prepared for the AGM.

just logging in …. seems lots is happening today

South of Tunis …. enjoy the JMC show! since you are seeing them before me, let me know what you think. It has been 30 years since I saw them, so I’m sure we have all changed abit! Mavis show is the one I am most excited about ….. loved Pops! And Gregroy Porter is back in town… but I’ve seen him a few times already, so may give that one a pass.

I read the punters decision …. as expected,I thought the Court seemed to strain language to avoid say ‘died club’

Sounds like HMRC’s lawyer has got his game face on …. short, sweet, and to the point …. money for work done is income for the purposes of taxation.

    1. Fans will renew their season tickets ( long before the decision is out )…

    2. The decision will come out

    3. Celtic’s response will be (likely issued by JPT after the Club says nothing, and people write to JPT to complain):

” In terms of the details all I can say is this, Celtic holds the principles of fair play dearly and will take action on any occasion where it is proved our Club has been disadvantaged. There has been no collusion or any efforts to assist any of our competitors in any way at any time.

Celtic work independently and only in the interests of Celtic and our supporters. This has always been the case and will continue to be.”

    4. And that will be it, and life will go on ….

  13. Blah, Blah, Blah…….

    Ye see,…….

    It’s like this……

Yeez can huff and, Yeez can puff……

    But,……it’s like this…..

    Glasgow Rangers FC will remain…..

    Glasgow Rangers FC until,…..

    Glasgow Celtic FC announce otherwise.

So, l assume that, we all know that, that will ‘never’ be the case ?

Well, if your not sure…..you can put another ‘statement’ into some obscure, anti-Cellic paper that nobody reads.

Thoughts and Prayers for all Celts in need.

Delighted to see luncheon vouchers getting mentioned in a court case again.

Hopefully this case will give us as many laughs as we got when Cynthia Payne was in her pomp and being tried for selling her wares in return for luncheon vouchers.

  15. Just to change tac , did anyone else think Sevco were fitter than our bhoys on Sunday . That was a big surprise to me as we have been running other teams into the ground , and was a big part of our game . Still deflated after Sunday , I know we were up against it with the 12th man , but our play was a huge disappointment , but it will have shown BR he still has some work to do , to get the team ready to challenge for the CL . we are a few players short of the team we need to compete . The plc aren’t going to stand up to the corruption , or the blatant cheating , so I suppose it’s to much to expect that they will back Brendan in the transfer market . But as always JUst my opinion .

SoT … MY bro (Liam in Toronto ) and a pal of mine did a show on the UoT radio back then…. I used to sit in sometimes, and claim (although I cannot prove it, and its probably not true ) to be the first guy to play both the JMC and Del Amitri (Keepers is magic!) on the radio in Canada ….. as for the JMC, my pals response was ‘never understand?! I cant understand how anyone could play that crap!’…. we actually had to tape him to his chair so we could get the song on the air!

    Welcome to Scotland.

Loved the way you took control of that press conference and stamped your authority all over it.

It would have been really disappointing if you had just sat there reading a load of pre-scripted guff written for you by a failed MSM journalist.

Glad to hear you are so concerned about Celtic and how we are doing so badly without a strong “Rangers”. We could have offered you some of our players, but since you already have the best squad in Scotland that won’t be necessary.

Hope to hear lots more from you.
