St Mirren lost at Tynecastle in November, their fifth consecutive in the league, but since then they have lost only twice: at Celtic Park and last Saturday, when the roof fell in against Ross County. During that run they recorded good wins against Dundee United and Motherwell. They sit second bottom of the league but this is an incredibly tight league. Saints are as close to bottom Dundee as they are to second top Inverness. In straightforward terms, St Mirren are a form team.
Anyone who believes Celtic are a sure thing better think again.
Remember the days when it would be impossible to get past 8pm and still not know Montrose earlier took a point at Ibrox? Sign of the times it wasn’t really news, I suppose.

One of the more eloquent conspiracy theorists from Sevcomedia opines on the armed forces’ criticism of Remembrance Day “celebrations” at Snake Mountain:
“The Queen needs to get involved in this s***e, im *** moving to America its beyond a joke here
*** CHARITY? It was never more appropiate?? a gun starting and finishing a minute silence????
2 guys flying there flag?? have they not earned the right to do what the **** they want?
having all our heros on the park at ibrox???
Were the ******* hell was anything inappropiate…
honestly This country is being taken over snd were standing back accepting this nonsense”
I want this back. It DOES work.
His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.
There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death..
The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman’s sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
‘I want to repay you,’ said the nobleman.. ‘You saved my son’s life..’
‘No, I can’t accept payment for what I did,’ the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer’s own son came to the door of the family hovel.
‘Is that your son?’ the nobleman asked.
‘Yes,’ the farmer replied proudly.
‘I’ll make you a deal… Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy If the lad is anything like his father, he’ll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of.’ And that he did..
Farmer Fleming’s son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the same nobleman’s son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.
What saved his life this time? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill … His son’s name?
Sir Winston Churchill.

Irvine Welsh backs bridge for fellow Hibs man Connolly
December 17, 2012 by admin · Leave a Comment
Scottish author Irvine Welsh is the latest high profile cultural figure to back the campaign to name the new transport bridge over the Liffey in Dublin in honour of James Connolly.
Welsh told LookLeft, “Connolly was a true man of the people, a great socialist and anti-imperialist. He was also the best kit man Hibernian FC ever had.”
Both the Trainspotting author and Connolly were ardent fans of Edinburgh football club Hibernian, Connolly working as a kit man for the club in his youth.
Other cultural figures who are backing the campaign include singers Imelda May, Christy Moore, Andy Irvine, Mary Black and Frances Black; actors Bryan Murray, Gabriel Byrne and Jer O’Leary; comedians Brendan Grace and Brendan O’Carroll; poets Theo Dorgan and Paula Meehan, as well as artist Robert Ballagh and Dublin GAA star Alan Brogan.
Pledging his support to the campaign Brendan O’Carroll, said that, having once been a member of “Robert Emmet branch of the James Connolly Youth Movement”, he fully recognised the importance of Connolly’s legacy.
James Connolly Bridge campaign coordinator, Brendan Carr, said: “What we are trying to do is remember the struggle of the people of Dublin 100 years ago and the link we have between 1913 and 1916 is James Connolly.”
The public transport bridge from Marlborough Street to Hawkins Street is due to open in summer 2013, a year of special significance to the trade union movement as it marks the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Lockout and comes just three years before the centenary of the 1916 Rising.

ernie….just copy and pasting from my e,mail…..slow day at work today………
They are a horrible, tactless bunch of reprobrates…
MILITARY chiefs have criticised
Remembrance Day events organised by
Rangers.
Top brass branded the half-time parade
during a match against Peterhead in
November as inappropriate.
Fans watched Royal Marines abseil from
the stadium roof and a howitzer was fired
from the trackside to signal a minute’s
silence.
But following complaints, Major General
Nick Eeles, General Officer Commanding
Scotland, met Navy and RAF chiefs and
they agreed to ban a repeat.
Instead, he has said just a minute’s
silence would be a more appropriate way
to mark the contribution of those who
served in the two world wars and other
conflicts.
In a letter to one person who complained,
the Army secretariat wrote: “The General
Officer Commanding Scotland has now
had the opportunity to review the events
that took place at Ibrox Park with the
other service heads in Scotland.
“They share your view that the format of
the half-time event and the conduct of
those taking part in it was inappropriate
for Remembrance weekend and will take
steps to ensure that such events are
conducted with appropriate solemnity in
the future.
“They believe that the minute’s silence
before the match was the correct way to
mark the occasion and Army commanders
will be directed to restrict future
Remembrance events to this type of
activity in the future.
“The focus of Remembrance activities
must be on the fallen, not on those who
are serving in the Armed Forces today.”

Especially when it’s orchestrated by Rome via Opus Dei – I suppose they have a point!

Read this through to the end – even if it sounds like it doesn’t interest you. IT WILL!

Even if you aren’t a Sports Fan this is Very Interesting!
36 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71, I repeat71
cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related
charges
8 have been arrested! for shoplifting
21currently are defendants in lawsuits,
and
84have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year!
Can you guess which organization this is?
Is it the NBA Or NFL?
Give up yet?
Scroll down,
Neither,
it’s the 535 members of the
United States Congress
The same group that crank out
hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.
You gotta pass this one on!
If the Huns has chosen to respect the memories of all those killed in war with a modicum of respect and solemnity, they might have actually begun to build something approaching……..tradition and values. They didn’t.
Instead they chose to turn it into a circus grotesque as horrible as all their other ‘celebrations’.
Hell mend ’em.

Either them or Peter Lawwell :-)
Another myth busted…
Celtic are Scotlands most watched club on TV with an average of 229k watching their
games on Sky/ESPN. Div 3 Club The Rangers average 121k.
Makes ESPN upcoming schedule even more ridiculous.
