Sure things don’t exist in football

724

St Mirren lost at Tynecastle in November, their fifth consecutive in the league, but since then they have lost only twice: at Celtic Park and last Saturday, when the roof fell in against Ross County.  During that run they recorded good wins against Dundee United and Motherwell.  They sit second bottom of the league but this is an incredibly tight league.  Saints are as close to bottom Dundee as they are to second top Inverness.  In straightforward terms, St Mirren are a form team.

Anyone who believes Celtic are a sure thing better think again.

Remember the days when it would be impossible to get past 8pm and still not know Montrose earlier took a point at Ibrox? Sign of the times it wasn’t really news, I suppose.

  1. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

    11:13 on 27 January, 2013

    ‘ERNIE LYNCH

Why the rush to do down someone who performed a huge service for humanity?

Especially one of our own,Alexander Fleming?’

Because the story of the development of penicillin is one of international cooperation (an Australian and Jewish refugee from nazi Germany seizing on an observation by a Scot working in London, with the crucial involvement of Mouldy Mary in Preroria, work carried out on two continents) and should be celebrated as such.

That’s not the narrative we are taught in Scotland. We get the jingoistic version, which is a perversion of the truth.

And because, as I’ve said Fleming, doesn’t come out of the story particularly well.

  2. Philosophy can be a murderously difficult thing to get a grip of at times. Post Montrose FPLG:

“The players had better switch on or they’ll be completely switched off.

Today just told me I was right in that I knew where we were, effectively. The result next week (against Dundee United) won’t tell me anything I don’t already know.

This match confirmed where I thought we were.”

This is prefixed by the sentence, “McCoist didn’t mince his words.”

Would you two pull yourselves together.

  5. Laughed out loud listening to radio when Moisty was asked,

“So, where do you think the problem lies with the team?”

    Me -“I don’t know”

    Moisty -“I don’t know….”

  6. Kojo’s opinions place him in the minority on here.

It is not right that he is banished for that.

I really enjoy his musings, even though I do not agree with some of them.

He is very entertaining, but he is not able to brainwash me or anyone else.

We are all capable of independent thought.

    We can edit for ourselves.

Paul67 is correct to ignore calls for bans etc.

One of my favourite posters on here is SFTB.

He is very critical of the bold Kojo.

I enjoy reading them both and can make up my own mind what I elicit from there posts.

I don’t need someone else to decide for me.

Sorry about the delay, been running kids around Jersey to various activities :0(.

I wont be overly shocked if the said “slap on the wrist” is the chosen punishment of the commitee.

What I do want to see is the Celtic board making a challenge on behalf of us -the supporters.

I am certain that I am not alone in stating that the final days of seasons 02/03 +04/05 amongst other hun illegal triumphs rate very highly in my list of darkest days .

  8. Truly amazing media in this country. We have an explosive interview carried live on bbc Sportsound last night. Tom English on the interview panel. Subject essentially corruption at the heart of the SFA Appeals hearings. A former ref calls their spokesman someone who cannot be trusted. Yet in all of today’s papers, including English’s, and the BBC Scotland website there is not a mention. Even by our MSM standards absolutely astonishing! Kenny Sheils’s bravery in telling the tale being airbrushed.

The West London CSC used the New Inn at Brentford to watch games in. They’ve moved on from there, but good to see the Celtic pics still on the wall. Some midweek nights there would be as many in the pub watching the Hoops as there would be in the Stadium watching Brentford.

  10. Tiny Tim

Correct. If you don’t agree with something someone says, argue your side or request a source of evidence to the claim or whatever.

Surely a blog is a place for discussion of various points of view.

Hadn’t seen that…….. No wonder it has deemed as inappropriate……..they don’t do Remembrance for the sake of remembering the war dead…….they only do triumphalism…

  13. Today Lenny,

Please play the full backs on form and allow them to push up and support our front 3 and we will triumph in the sun at Hampden.

It is easy to ignore the manager of Kilmarnock – it doesn’t sell papers BUT if Neil Lennon had said it then there would have been coverage.

Having now listened to the show it must be said that the rep for the refs was evasive, slimy and most normal people will side with Kenny Shiels.

It goes to the heart of what we know about the referees in Scotland and the spawn of Dallas appears cowardly for not turning up when asked to to that appeal.

The biggest thing for me was the evidence presented contradicted the Dallas report and yet Shiels was still punished. If that is true it really does make a mockery of the independent panel

  15. Too many folk expecting others to do their dirty work for them, I think.

Peter Lawwell has to say something.

The Board have got to do something.

Kenny Sheils has got to release the evidence.

What are WE doing about it?

I note you tend to use comparisons with regimes you hate, another comparison could be this is not MSM Scotland, no ?

You make out as if China is the only country in the world that censors free speech when in fact you don’t even need to look beyond your own borders

That’s the problem we face KO tackling this ourselves. Any dissent in our part is given no exposure.
