SURPRISE, SURPRISE – IT’S SEVCO!

1
LISBON Lion Bertie Auld gave Celtic a home draw against Sevco Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final which is due at Hampden on the weekend of April 22/23.
Holders Hibs will face Aberdeen in the other tie with dates still to be finalised.
The legendary Celt picked out his old team first in this evening’s ballot to give them the home dressing room.
This will be the second time that the Glasgow rivals will go head to head for a place in the Scottish Cup Final.
Last season’s encounter ended 2-2 after extra-time, but the Ibrox side won through on penalty-kicks after Callum McGregor, Scott Brown and Tom Rogic all missed from the spot for the Hoops.
The Parkhead men gained revenge in this season’s League Cup semi-final – beating Mark Warburton’s former side 1-0 thanks to Moussa Dembele’s late goal.
It will be the fifth meeting of the sides this season with Celtic having won the first three ahead of Sunday’s league clash at Parkhead.
The draw means that Celtic are likely to face Sevco six times this season and every month for the  next 3 months if the Ibrox club can hold onto a place in the top six before the split.
Dembele netted a hat-trick in the 5-1 win for the home side at Parkhead in September and Scott Sinclair got the winner in the 2-1 victory at Ibrox on Hogmanay as the Celtic fans partied at the home of the club formed in 2012.
Neil Lennon’s Championship leaders will face the Dons in the other semi final.
They beat Ayr United 3-1 yesterday while Derek McInnes’ men overcame Partick Thistle 1-0 at Pittodrie this afternoon with a Graeme Shinnie goal just before the interval.
