FALLEN English champions Leicester City have been linked with a shock move for Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko.
Reports insist the Danish international star’s agent, Allan Bak Jensen, is due in Glasgow today for talks about the player’s future.Former Hoops boss Ronny Deila paid Midtjylland £1.5million for Sviatchenko a year ago and the classy defender had been the first choice central defender under Brendan Rodgers until the winter break.
After missing the Scottish Cup-tie against Albion Rovers through suspension, the 25-year-old ace has had to be content with a place on the subs’ bench for the wins over St Johnstone and Hearts with Dedryck Boyata partnering Jozo Simunovic.
Leicester are struggling at the wrong end of the table after last season’s sensational title success.
Boss Cladio Ranieri is desperate to shore up a leaky rearguard and he could tempt Celtic’s resolve with a late bid for Sviatchenko.
