TAKE A BOW, ANGE

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been named Premiership Manager of the Month for February 2022.

The Celtic boss saw his side kick off last month with a rollicking 3-0 romp against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox visitors and followed that up with a 4-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

An impressive month continued with 3-2 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie and an identical scoreline against Dundee at Parkhead when Giorgos Giakoumakis claimed his first Hoops hat-trick.

There was a hiccup against Hibs in the scoreless stalemate at Easter Road last weekend to interrupt the 100 per cent record, but Postecoglou can be rightly satisfied with 13 points from a possible 15 while moving three points ahead of their nearest challengers at the Premiership pinnacle.

The Greek-Australian, who has now completed a hat-trick of manager awards after picking up the honour in October and January, told the club website: “We are delighted again to receive this award, but once again we receive it as a group.

“It is something which reflects our real collective effort in delivering positive performances and results for our fans.

“We have been able to find some real consistency again across the past month, being patient in games against tough opponents and trusting ourselves through our play to reach our goals, something I have been really pleased with and something we will strive to continue.”

The next challenge will be provided by Livingston in West Lothian on Sunday with David Martindale’s side taking five points off the Hoops this time without surrendering a goal.
