‘TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT,’ CELTIC BACK WITH FINAL £1M BID FOR HENDRY

0

CELTIC have made a second, improved bid for Dundee central defender Jack Hendry.

The increased offer is believed to be in the region of £1million.

The Hoops have already had an initial bid of £500,000 rejected by the Dens Park club.

The champions have now returned with their second offer just one day before the window closes.

Hendry has played 25 league matches since joining from Wigan last summer. The 22-year old played tonight in the club’s Scottish Cup replay at Inverness Caley Thistle where on-loan Celt Scott Allan scored the only goal of the game in the 47th minute.

Celtic had also been linked with Dundee keeper Scott Bain who only went on loan to Hibs a fortnight ago. Bain has fallen out with Dens boss Neil McCann and jumped at the chance to join up with Neil Lennon at Easter Road.

That move though has frustrated his chance to join up with the Champions.

Dundee, who tried to play hardball on the Hendry interest will nevertheless be tempted by the new offer for the young defender who is believed to be desperate to sign for Celtic.

A million pounds is a huge windfall for the Dundee board who are unlikely to walk away from the deal.
