TALENT SCOUT REJOINS RODGERS

LEE CONGERTON, Celtic’s departing Head of Recruitment, has rejoined Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, as CQN suggested earlier this morning.

The Welshman is leaving the Parkhead side immediately after agreeing to work again with the former Hoops gaffer at the Midlands outfit, SKY Sports have reported.

Congerton, 45, is the latest backroom boy to team up with the Irishman – assistant boss Chris Davies and trainer Kolo Toure also quit the champions in February. He originally teamed up with Rodgers at Chelsea in 2005.

The talent scout, who also had spells at SV Hamburg and Sunderland, had been linked with a move to Anderlecht, while two MLS clubs were monitoring his situation in Glasgow.

His move south will add to the speculation John Park is poised to return to his old position at the club.

Celtic have said they will announce Congerton’s successor as soon as possible, probably next month.
