Tannadice opportunity

255

Celtic faced a potentially season-ending run of seven fixtures, six of which were away from home: Stuttgart, Newco, Aberdeen, Newco, Motherwell (home), Dundee United and Dundee.  Five are behind us and we remain in the Cup and have become favourites for the title.

One of life’s lessons when going through an endurance is the knowledge that it will end.  After visits to Dundee United and Dundee, Celtic have six league games remaining, four of them at home.  The payoff of coming through such a test of endurance is a roster stocked with dates at Celtic Park.  60,000 of us will gather on all-but two occasions to inspire the players towards the title.

Celtic are also the only side in the top six who do not face another top six side before the split.  St Mirren at home completes our Stage 1 fixtures. Newco have Falkirk away, Hearts have Motherwell at home, while Motherwell also face Hibs and Falkirk.

If we have learned anything from this season, though, it is that we cannot afford a moment of comfort.  We have a great opportunity on Sunday.  Go to Tannadice, win the points and edge let everyone else know there is a reason we are champions.

  1. I thought wee Willie was good last night. When he explains the criteria, that’s been agreed, its fair.He has his work cut out with the dunderheads on the monitors though. He would need to be standing beside them all every game. With the Scales goal,he was angry saying, the definitive view was from behind the goal, but they went with the poorer side view.

His problem, what can he do.He does not have enough operators to chop and change.

  3. Adverts. They pay for the Blog. Its impossible to open any Blog now, without them.

You just have to get on with it.Pain in the arse.I used to go through the morning papers, not our rags, now, they all want money ,subscriptions, and still bombarded with ads.

  6. Bowser’s like Brave and Duck Duck Go are popular because they stop the Ads. Wonder what has changed? Why the sudden failure to block them?

No idea how much money the Blog owners can generate but if people don’t visit them because of the ads then what’s the point?

IMHO you nailed it with this comment.

I’ve been using Brave to login here for a couple of years without any issue.

Now like everyone else I am drowning in Ads.

That I can thole but the login, scrolling and posting problems I’m now experiencing since the Ads avalanche started are a different thing.

CQN is my go to Celtic site but I fear P67 is getting it wrong if he thinks the developments of the last couple of days are in any way user friendly.

If I was a new visitor I doubt I’d be tempted to stay about long enough to overcome the grief.

  12. lets all do the huddle on

has anyone else started having intermittent scrolling issues whereby you even try to scroll up a little bit and it shoots you to the top of the page?

  13. Maybe Paul, who shows his admiration for the way the Board are running the club, the Kasper debacle the latest sign our club is in chaos, and has decided to go down a road, similar to them,a and make a complete Pigs Ear of this Blog.

    Just a theory like.

  14. lets all do the huddle on

anyway, heres me complaining about usability issues like scrolling, constant logins, all the page numbers not fitting on a portrait screen etc etc

surely the absolute joy of having advert bombardment offsets those minor niggles

What a coward of a man you are. You already know the truth. However, what you said was so appalling, you can’t bring yourself to admit it.

Shame on you, weasel words and no-apology apologies. Pathetically weak.

maybe our new head of business operations done a project called ‘improvements to CQN’ as part of his interview journey?

  18. lets all do the huddle on

i dont mind the ads to be honest, as long as it is just that bar at the bottom. its when things pop up in the middle of the screen that are a pisser

  19. Using Samsung Internet, Ad Blocker, disabled Java script. No issues whatsoever (exc. kingWeasel’s casual observation that Hitler had a point with the Holocaust.)

  20. Not getting any adverts on this site, but I am getting two pop up options.

One from CQN, telling me I’m using an AdBlocker….but with an option of “continue without disabling”

and another which seems more recent “We value your privacy” relating to “vendors” which again you have the option of “reject”. I rely on DuckDuckGo and Adblock Plus in the main, but know first hand, eg when accessing CQN from a public library that this site is impossible to navigate such is the blizzard of ads, or is it vendors?

I thought we had some kind of legal choice/protection against ‘this sort of thing’, and thus far the above mentioned “extensions” are doing their job, but not always for others it seems.

  22. Just getting round to reading the Celtic v Motherwell programme.

A great read with a quiz thrown in.

Imo, well worth the 400 penies.

This may be a good time to reiterate the summary of our social mission statement.

” Celtic is a club for everyone who believes in football as a medium for healthy pleasure, entertainment and social integration. The club always has been and always will simply aim to be the team of the people”

Enjoying Celtic seems a simple aspiration for any Celtic supporter.

    HH, the journey continues.

I do not have a problem with adverts on CQN.

Ergo there isn’t any, thanks to DuckDuckGo & Adblock Plus (free versions)

IMHO Reporting of this kind undermines, rather than feaffirms the legitimately of the UK’s very small role in this otherwise bilateral declaration of war.
