Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

    that’s my worry!

3rd division for any newco for me.

Speaking with Inverness supporter today who has Celtic leanings and he thinks that to allow them back in might cause least damage to Scottish football. He is a reasonable guy, so that is what we will be up against.

Perhaps Toxic Rangers (IA) limping about for years to come will be the better solution.

However, it may just be the 2 contract position rather than the BTC that will confine them to relegation in their continued sorry state.

aidan would have had the sense to have jumped out of that tackle, unlike Walcott.

There’s one thing I don’t get in all this, which has possibly been explained a while back by someone on this blog, and it’s this: Do the players themselves not have a personal liability for tax? If a self-employed guy’s accountant tells him he doesn’t need to pay tax on his earnings and then HMRC comes calling, the tax liability remains with the self-employed guy and not with the accountant. Don’t know if that’s a decent parallel, but do you see what I mean? In the R@ngers EBT case can HMRC chase players for monies due, or are they only chasing the club?

Apologies if this has been covered already.

  7. Walcott got what he desrved there because he sh*t it & let the defender get the ball and follow through on him. Tuff.

Just saw this as I was flicking down, I just think he doesn’t like AC Milan as he was going proper mental when Skippy scored in 2007/08!!

Do you know that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing?

Well I think T4 ain’t far off the mark. Dubbs and Phelps should know what the right and left hands are doing but they don’t.

Pound to a penny that Sally and the pack are collectively coming up with a strategy aided and abetted by those that promise to phoenix them’ they are the ones pulling the strings, not the Administrators who should be.

Dubbs and Phelps are just down right daft or naive over what is happening. They must know that by agreeing to pay cuts, whether they are deferred or not amount to a constructive breach of contract. A high risk strategy bearing in mind that they have a cash flow problem and the Taxman coming over the hill.

The Administrators can do anything they want but if they rip up contracts, Bosman kicks in.

McGregor is one of those looking for an out, FACT, he’s looking for his freebie.

The Players are dictating here not Dubbs and Phelps. Effectively what they have been doing is renegotiating new contracts (plural intended her to signify the standard two contract per Player). Why, well any smart player could theoretically could sue for constructive breach of contract if the brown stuff hits the fan. However, if they get by until end of season and they Phoenix, all they have done is lost some money over 4/5 months. Newco sign them for nothing and give them the standard two contracts as per rangers 1872.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  11. So, the Teddy Bears have had their picnic, and all the bhoys and ghirls are having ice cream and jelly. And the Rankers are now like an old teddy bear, well stuffed. :-)

Can we now do the bouncy and dance on the Rankers grave?

Loving every minute of it. Hail Hail!!

  12. Time to chill lhads

Celtic fans are so far ahead of the rest on these issues that we have perhaps forgotten that when the scale of cheating and illegality is fully revealed then those advocating that a newco be somehow allowed straight back in will have to hold their heads in shame

Make no mistake – there will be more and more revelations to come about Mintys empire of the vanities

The huns are going down and they aint coming back too soon

  14. The newco won’t be the team that has cheated though, will it?

It won’t be the team that didn’t pay it’s taxes, cheated the football authorities and had an unfair sporting advantage. Newco=new team. That’s what they’ll say. Move along Timmy. Oh, and we still have our history of course.

HMRC would go after Newco especially if Newco was obviously just another version of Rangers with the Rangers SPL place intact.

Regarding Nicholas and his Celebration at Skippys goal vs Milan,,,,It was put on for the cameras, that was the game where Jim White and Nicholas were making remarks about the Celtic fans singing the Fields of Athenry ,forgetting that they were still miked up!!

Watching Nicholas jumping about when Skippy scored was embarrassing,a blatant attempt to get back on side with the same fans he was poking fun at earlier!!

“The squad were prepared to accept the cuts for one month in return for no redundancies being made in that time. The players initially preferred a deferral scheme…”

This is the strangest administration ever. Who is administering who? Duff & Phelps have had 22 days to do their job, which is to take one million a month off the outgoings of RFCIA, or wind them up.

To date, four employees have been taken off the wage bill, saving the cash equivalent of a flea-bite.

D & P are riding high at £600 per hour, per head.

Which is fine money for carcass-feeders.

And worth every penny, so long as they are doing their job honestly and without fear or favour. Are they?
