Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

  1. So I am an Administrator @ Greyskull: I must take stock of where I am now after 20 days:

    1) I can’t trust any information received from CW

    2) I can’t trust any information from CWs advisers/legal team

    3) I can’t access money apparently owned to RFCIA

    4) I can’t be certain all player contracts are ‘owned’ by RFCIA

    5) I can’t improve income streams except at the margins

    6) I haven’t cut costs, infact I’ve maintained a minus £1m/month program

    7) I have laid myself open to virtual blackmail from players

    8) I haven’t secured a firm intention from any potential buyers

    9) HMRC still watching like a hawk

Mmmmmm……some folk might begin to think I’m not much good at this.

    What now:

The high earners proposal of 75% cuts & then free to walk away is not much different than had I done the right thing day one & sacked them.

Except of course they have another another weeks pay due (say £120k). Mind you I get that back and more by effectively imposing a 100% wage cut.

How stupid of me to barter with these ‘people’ who I thought would balance self interest (nothing wrong with that) and the long term interest of RFCIA

As if HMRC & other creditors would sit back and watch!!!

  2. Anyone remember this from a few weeks ago:

Hearts and St Johnstone miss out on TV money

Apparentley Sky were unable to show their cup replay as it would have clashed with Europa League games. This was a similar rule which meant that we had to travel to St Johnstone and ICT for 6.00pm kick-offs round the business time of last season.

Treating fans like this was disgraceful but we thought it was all down to UEFA rules and so nothing could be done about it.

How come ITV were then able to show last night’s FA Cup replay between Chelsea and Birmingham at the same time as Arsenal were playing in the Champions League. Something doesn’t add up.

Are the administrators thinking we’ll be in liquidation before the next payday, so the players can all join the list of creditors to 0.0001p in the pound?

  4. jock steins celtic on

Mort – I thought this rule only applied to ‘top flight’ league games. Which explains the Birmingham-Chelsea game being allowed but not why the Hearts-StJ wasn’t.

Some red tops reporting today that Davis, Whitakaer and Naismith refused to agree to cuts. This is a very strange situation as we have been blogging for the last few days. Someone pointed out the Dundee administrator and how he came in and instantly people were let go including manager. Despite more investigations into Rangers than terror alerts these days why do authorities, Government, administrators, creditors feel the need to bend over backwards to accomodate this corrupt outfit?

    Let the rats drown

  6. Missed out some Quotes and words in that last quote, meant to read :-

Are the administrators thinking “We’ll be in liquidation before the next payday, so the players can all join the list of creditors and get 0.0001p in the pound?”

  7. Morning CQNer’s.

Whats all this stuff on the BBC about the state of the game ?

IF, the huns, somehow slither their way out of, yet another noose then, there will be no concern for the state of the game. IMO!

I think that, Celtic already know whats coming down the line with their, ‘sampling’ the standing-room facilities @ CP earlier in the year.

I suspect that, we’ll see an introduction of standing area’s in the stadiums and, admission price’s reduced to say, £10 a head for seats and, £5 for standing. What we currently watch is deserving of these prices. IMO!

I also believe that some form of, wage-capping will be introduced . But, you know what….I think that, after much wrangling and, when Celtic threaten to or, actually do use the famous ‘dossier’ then, the huns will go to division 3 with their tail between their legs! IMO!

If all of that comes to pass then, don’t be surprised to see ‘every’ club downsized to the bare bones until, the huns return. If they ever do. I think all of the above will come about after a, Holywood style stand-off between Celtic FC/Timdom and, the establishment/TFOD.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a movie in the future, chronicling the, epic battle of, Glasgow Celtic FC v’s The Scottish Establishment. And, guess who wins ? :)

    Hail! Hail!

These meetings are getting very secretive.

Thanks. Maybe last nights was allowed to go ahead because birmingham aren’t in English and Welsh Premier League, whereas both Hearts and St J are in SPL even though games were in different competitions.

    Stilll think it stinks.

  10. One of the consequences of this Hun pantomime is that I find myself tuning into radio phone-ins that I wouldn’t previously have listened to, just for the sheer entertainment value.

However, I have to say that Talksport is simply un-listenable. It make Clyde sound like Radio 4.

Hawksbee and Jacobs are quite good in the afternoon but the rest of the schedule sounds like an advert for the english defence league.

Keys and Gray are cringeworthy on their show, Keys is a slimeball and Gray sounds as if he’s took too many kicks on the head when a player.

Durham and Gough are the dumb and even dumber of radio.

One of the interesting aspects of the whole Rangers shebawz is the response of the Adminstrators to the SPL’s and SFA’s Powers of Inquiry.

The Adminstrators do not have anything to hide with regard to their own behaviour, and are duty bound, as de facto office bearers of Rangers, to comply with the requirements of any enquiry and fully disclose any and all information that they are requested to provide, so long as it exists of course.

Essentially, with Rangers in Adminstration, we might feasibly get the level of cooperation and disclosure necessary to achieve transparency on the historic ineligibility of players, subject of course to the SPL and SFA actually disclosing their findings!

  14. Johnny Clash: “However, I have to say that Talksport is simply un-listenable. It make Clyde sound like Radio 4.”

    Too far.

But the old BBC types like Mr. Cholmondley-Warner must be spinning in their graves when they hear Chico and Jabba go head to head.

  15. SFFS

He was screaming and jumping about off his chair at every Arsenal goal + near miss

All totally false and stage managed. Each of the panel muppets who inhabit that awful show do this on a weekly basis. They think it makes them funny and a top lad

It doesn’t. They are complete tools

Nice to see Dundee Utd kicking off about what thay are due. As I posted yesterday, by my calculations the ticket money for their game against ICT is now overdue. SPL rules state all ticket monies to be paid within 10 days of the game being played. has anyone heard anything on this ?

If we are relying on the SFA I don’t have much confidence that they will disclose the full extent of TFOD transgressions. I would feel a lot more confident if UEFA dealt with this.

    Morning all.

There have been alot of posts musing over who would vote for a Newco in the SPL. At the moment, there are two teams who are 100% no votes. Those teams are Celtic and Hibernian.

Owner of Hibs, Sir Tom Farmer (Papal Knight) will oppose any attempts to relaunch huns in SPL on the grounds of ‘sporting integrity.’ You can take that to the bank.

  23. Some poster suggested that the tactic was for there to be so much poop hitting the fan at regular interval, that the Peepil would end up begging to be put out of their misery.

It is as good an explanation as I have heard for all that has been going on.

  24. King V’s Murray

Is that the big haired boxing promoter, my money’s on him.

  25. Anyone else left today? Or are they still arguing amongst themselves.

The administrators have to take charge and do their job. It’s almost as if there is a reason for making all of this last so much longer than it really should.

  26. So a Tim gets Craig Whyte’s contact details, manages to speak to him, and uses the situation for comic effect.

Imagine it was a hun who had got his details.

How would that have turned out?
