Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

  1. Any creditors being paid here?

Dungfermline doesn’t count because the SPL were going to punish the Hun yesterday if they hadn’t (and even at that they just got a first installment…).

  2. Many a shellsuited goon lurching, loafing, loitering with cautious optimism around the zoo like railings of Murray Park…what is cautious optimism?

Is it a bit like reluctant enthusiasm?

Is it the esoteric practice of Yogi’s ( bears)?

  3. “Some players have cut deals with #Rangers administrators to take wage cuts now in exchange for free transfers in summer or sell on clauses.”

  4. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well those nice administrators are going to wait until tomorrow to see how the players feel about the proposed wage cuts they are very careing. This apparently is the new way administrators will work making them all soft and cuddly rather than the bad B—— that they used to be thought of.H.H.

  5. Eyes Wide Open on

There is nothing like hanging your dirty linen out to dry in public.

This whole drama has been done totally in the glare of the watching world – strange.

The approach taken by the Whyte appointed administrators is peculiar to say the least in so much as they have been employed as a matter of emergency to run the club in such a manner that the debts do not continue to pile up.

Where is the iron fist that every single administrator who has assumed control of a company across the business and industrial spectrum?

The very costs they have to cut being asked to participate in how they want to kill themselves is a bit like asking turkeys to vote for xmas.

Its the body long plaster being peeled away a mm per minute.

Just do what has to be done.

You know what it is – we know what it is.

1 day and approx £40k of cuts have been achieved out of the £1m. £960, 000 to go.

The administrators have cost the club more than they have saved them today.

Get it done – let the grim reaper out of his cage!!!

Ooh, i’d missed that the SPL were going to punish them – what were they going to do? Serious punishment or just gesturing?

  7. Trying to keep track of all the comings and goings of Celtic players out on loan etc. is getting kinda mind boggling.

Anyone know what’s the position with Jos Hoovield and Darren O’Dea both of whom are playing well down south and at international level and also seem to be injury free since they moved.

Are these lads still Celtic players?

  8. Fair enough all….I do believe I’m getting overexcited about all the “consensuality” going on @ The Midden…

  9. I thought Admin were accountable (after 14 days?) to show that they were satisfying the creditors.

I hope Hector’s inspectors are ready to step in and find out what’s going on.

    ………………..

How does that work then? Surely it devalues them as assets for selling on at a later date? Or will they expect new signing on fees later from RFC or whatever it morphs into?

According to Doncaster he made it sound like a straight forward rubber stamping exercise!

  15. During the trial of two men accused of attempting to murder three prominent Catholics/Celtic supporters, a policeman gives evidence of how a bug placed in one of the accused cars, recorded him wishing that Neil Lennon would, “die or commit suicide”.

The defence QC Donald Findlay asks the policemen, “Surely this is the sort of conversation that takes place the length and breadth of the country?”

Yes Donald, don’t you see that that is precisely the problem.

  16. Sounds like agents doing deals so players can leave in the summer to recoup their money then.

Jabba saying some high earners want to leave but this is being blocked by Sally and the Duffers.

  17. Larsson and McStay on

Personally I think the blundering Duff and Phelps are playing a blinder. If the Cheats had been remotely saveable they would have cut costs within days of entering administration. They realise it’s impossible now to stop the Cheats falling into the abyss that is liquidation , and they are milking it for as much as they can……a bit like ourselves really.

C’mon the Duff and Phelps CSC !!

Here is what was reported in the Daily Mail (not mentioned in Scottish papers):

Rangers were minutes away from being penalised by the SPL yesterday, administrators Duff and Phelps agreeing to pay Dunfermline part of the £84,000 owed to them for tickets for last month’s match at East End Park just before the meeting which would have decided on the appropriate punishment for welshing on that debt. The remainder of the money must be paid by April 13.

“We learned, just prior to the meeting starting, that the administrators had agreed with Dunfermline payment for the outstanding money so our action, relating to Rangers, went away,” said Doncaster.

just seen this from mark hateley :) :)

    April 1st 2000

RANGERS have just sounded the death knell for Scottish football’s current set-up.

That’s the view of former Ibrox hero Mark Hateley

Hateley said: “This is the end of the road for the Scottish set-up as it is now.

“Rangers are about to disappear over the horizon and eventually they’ll leave the rest to get on with the SPL – and that includes Celtic. “It’s all very well Rangers winning another title – now their fans want more. It becomes a bit tedious just cleaning up at home, so all the signs point to Europe.”

how right he was he must have a crystal ball
