Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

Some players have cut deals with #Rangers administrators to take wage cuts now in exchange for free transfers in summer or sell on clauses.”

back to this morning’s discussion, surely the above tweet by C.Mclaughlin BBC is preposterous. So now they will cut a deal to free their assets come summer?

Appreciated your point of view earlier and wondered your thoughts on this.

All reads very strange what the Administrators are up to at present.

All other discussions seem to be that teh Huns will survive.

If Turdlanark go straight into the SPL i’m chucking it.The game’s a bogey then.

Turdlanark should mean 3rd division, end of.

Thanks for the info – so Jos H is EPL bound. Nice career move after such a bad luck with injury problems.

So much for NewCo’s re-entry vote to be opened to the SPL Association. Neil Doncaster sounding pretty definite that the SPL Board will decide.

Sounds like agents doing deals so players can leave in the summer to recoup their money then

The admins would & could not agree to this. The players at the end of their contracts will be able to do this anyway.

The admins would be in contradiction of their responsibility to creditors by allowing assets to walk out with no value realised.

This version of events at least is impossible.

When it comes to the summer transfer window, the likelihood is that Rangers FC won’t exist – these players are being advised by complete idiots.

“They don’t seem to have the creditors in mind just now.”

Well, maybe, there is one creditor who is very much in mind.

  15. If NewCo gets let into the SPL, I’d be quite happy to offer Dunfermline our place and we will play in the SFL.

Can’t bear the thought of them being allowed to compete in the same league as us.

  16. BT

Doncaster said he would apply the rulebook as it is, Newco to go through the rubber stamping of re entry, he made it sound very straight forward, nobody mentioned the elephant in the room holding two separate documents, which was er, strange. But Doncaster made the point that the rules will be followed to the letter so role on the enquiry.

  17. Right now I can’t work out whether I am more annoyed that the administrators are making such a mess of this or amused that it is all taking such a long time.

I’ve never known administrators to negotiate for a week over redundancies before. Usually it all happens very quickly.

  18. So lets get this straight, these players will be available for free at the end of the season, or sell on clauses. So the administrators are basically leaving the club (who they are trying to sell on) with absolutely no assets!

My word Duph & Felps, top class!!

  19. Roy / Abmuker

Of course the Admins have the advantage of knowing exactly the players current terms and any additional clauses which may be pertinent.

I wouldn’t damn them just yet & there is so much misinformation flying about.

The Admins have clearly stated a minimum £1m MUST be saved. They will need to detail their success to creditors. In this regard there is no wriggle room.

It may not mean player redundancies but the cash figure MUST be met.

Maybe I don’t understand the situation correctly but the proposal seems to me to suit the admisistrators and players alike.

The players finish the season playing with Rangers, don’t get paid but are free agents at the end of the season to cut their own deals.

The administrators get the team on the pitch for the rest of the season and pay little or no wages.

Not much value in it for the creditors though.

  22. Monaghan1900 on

Insane and of low intellect? Jabba may have a point. I don’t suppose anyone would be prepared to help this single cell from FF?

    “Rangers and its ‘debt’?

all i seem to be hearing on the net from ‘non-Bears’ is that Rangers have a huge debt and that if it was Dundee or Motherwell, they would be treated differently… much more harshly!

anyone have any sort of inkling of what the clubs actual debt is, and what our wage bill is? i thought out debt was the £18m we owed to CW, and that we only went into admin because that crook was refusing to pay PAYE??

the Administrators say that we needed about £10m to see out the season, that was with about 3 months to go, this would suggest that our actual outlay is about £30m?

but i thought CW said outlay was £45m per season?

i really dont understand where all Rangers money has gone, what happened to last seasons euro money? Season book money? transfers etc etc???

was the £5.5 million we got for Jela the part of the £10m that we need to see out the season?? if so does that mean that in January, Rangers effectively had NO money??

by the way im ignoring the elephant in the room that the EBT case is just now, because we have no idea of the outcome.”

    Perhaps begin with arithmetic?!

roycroppie. The Rangers situation was never going to be like any other football club in administration ie Portsmouth etc.Rangers see themselves as part of the fabric of Scottish society. They see themselves as part of the establishment and they have a large part of Scotland on there side lots of funny handshakes will be going on at Murray Park and many people will do there uptmost to minimise what Rangers have done and also try to minimise any punishment,Dont be surprised at anything that happens over at Ibrokes remember they are the peepil.H.H.
