Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

This must be the most bizarre administration ever and it is very difficult to 2nd guess these administrators. Is Jack Irvine still calling shots with news management coming out of Mordor?

  2. Liquidation must be on the way, especially if Doncaster is talking openly of NewCo Rangers.

The SPL board MUST resist any attempt by NewCo Rangers to waltz back into the top league; otherwise, I, and I suspect many other fans of Scottish football are done with it for good.

Port Vale in Administration….. Let’s watch how that is handled….? I d imagine, different from Ibrokes…

  5. I’m quite sure Mervan must be glad to get away from Ibrokes, and go to a club where he’s allowed to put his name on the back of his shirt like everybody else. HH

There’s no doubt about all that and listening to Shortbread they were pleading for Doncaster to throw them some crumbs of comfort but as he said the rules are the rules!

  7. Semi serious comment here…. Are there any Rangers players we’d offer an escape route to, either as a freed player or who is on a free transfer in the summer?

Naismith for example? I know we don’t like him but he is a good player.

    Jamie Ness?

Maybe cherry pick their youth team!

Worth it just to have them turning in their graves surely :-)

  8. Didn’t Garvie’s of Milngavie sell a Tantric Orange bottle of ginger back in the day?

  9. Chico Young is really really hurtin’…you can hear the emotion all quavering in his little larynx…somethings you just can’t hide.

Billy Dodds: you have to admire McCoist. Why? What has he done or achieved as the manager of them?

Not much value in it for the creditors though.

Exactly why the report (as quoted) is garbage.

Creditors will be reassured when monthly losses stop but the RETAINED value of the asset will determine the p’s in the £ the creditors might get.

The idea that the Admins would happily wave away that money is nonsense and possibly criminal!

To be fair, if they can cut a deal with the players, surely it makes sense for them.

If they simply tear up player contracts then they have no re-sale value in any case and they cant be transferred for a fee to anyone at the moment – can they?

Did I hear right? Is there no possibility for Rangers NewCo to start at SFL Div 3? Could they be wiped from the face of the earth forever?

Can somebody help out an corporate/tax law virgin like myself. Considerate a mini pub-quiz.

    1) How can the administrators expect bids by 16th March when the bidders wouldn’t know the total liabilities they face – i.e. hmrc big tax case – or this just “administration mechanics; i.e. the administrators know there is no real chance of any material bid being made by this date

    2) If they liquidate, the hero retains first charge over Ibrox (and murray park?), so any bidder would need to purchase these from him?

    3) if the newco were voted into the spl (I know, I know), they would need to be instated as a completely new entity and could not therefore be hit with a points penalty, as this would tie them into the oldco?

    4) Why do they make car windscreen de-icer cans out of metal – had to have mine surgically removed this mornin?

    thanks in advance

  16. Chico: there is only one possibility for a newco & that is to get straight back into the SPHell…what?

What if we don’t want them back?

  17. Starry… I’d stick him on the bench for a year for being a very naughty boy, joining the dark side and learning how to be a divin wee £&@&**^€

Exactly why they don’t tear up contracts!

The Admins can’t force ANY contractural changes, the players must agree to do it themselves. The Admins can’t agree to anything which makes the current financial position worse nor eliminates a clear financial asset realisable later!!!

Billy Dodds now wants to start a whole new league just to save the Huns,,,,you couldn’t make this up??

    Hail hail

  23. TOP TIP:

If you are going to have your house renovated and a company called Duff & Phelps tender for the job, under no circumstances give them the job.

So far it looks like only Greg Wylde is in possession of a social conscience. I suppose we’ll now see those hun players who have taken a 75% wage cut and are now on a paltry £5,000 per week , or thereabouts, sitting outside shop fronts in Glasgow with a paper cup trying to augment their wages.

Unfortunately for Greg, after the players have been sorted out there will be swifter movement to rid huns FC (in admin) of sundry staff.

    Hail! Hail! PMTYH

I dont know how my fellow Celtic fans feel but in my opinion if new co Rangers get straight back into the SPL I will be finished with Scottish football there will be no point in spending good money in these hard times to watch my team playing the cheating scum.If they got off that lightly we will have been robbed.Justice must be done not only that it must be seen to be done no half measures or Scottish football will be finished.H.H.
