TAYLOR TARGETED

GREG TAYLOR, who is a free agent at the end of his Celtic contract next month, has emerged as a target for Greek outfit PAOK.

The 27-year-old left-back has failed to agree a new deal with the champions and, unless there is a dramatic u-turn, his six-year Hoops career ended in the Scottish Cup Final penalty-kick loss to Aberdeen at Hampden on Saturday.

Taylor, who was bought by Neil Lennon from Kilmarnock for £2.1million in 2019, is on the radar of PAOK, who finished third in the Greek Super League.

THE END OF THE ROAD…a glum-looking Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston reflect on the Scottish Cup Final defeat from Aberdeen at Hampden.

The team’s boss Razvan Lucescu has seen the Scotland international perform in the Champions League during the season and is in the market for a new No.3 as he prepares his squad for a tilt at the Europa League, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

One-time fans’ favourite Kieran Tierney is on the way back after running down his contract at Arsenal. He officially returns to his boyhood favourites on July 1.

The 27-year-old ace said his farewells to the London club with a rare goal in their 2-1 win over relegated Southampton on Sunday.

The Hoops are also in talks with Jeffrey Schlupp who arrived on a short-term switch from Crystal Palace in January after Barcelona loanee Alex Valle returned to the Spanish giants Barcelona before moving onto Serie A outfit Como.

The German-born Ghanaian international is out of contract at the Selhurst Park club and is also wanted by former team Leicester City, relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Schlupp, 32, appears to be in no rush to get his future settled and, quizzed about his future by the media, replied: “Time to rest, relax and recover. A bit of golf and then we see what happens.”

Celtic have also been linked with 19-year-old Japanese left-sided defender Keita Kosugi, currently with Swedish side Djurgardens.
