TAYLOR TRANSFER UPDATE

IT LOOKS increasingly as though Greg Taylor is heading for the Celtic exit as his contract runs down.

There appears no sign of a compromise in the defender’s wage demands as negotiations with the Hoops hierarchy have dragged on for months.

Taylor can walk away for nothing at the beginning of June as his terms expire or the champions can sell him now at a cut-price fee.

The 27-year-old left-back’s stand-off situation has alerted clubs and Trabzonspor are the latest to be linked with the Scotland international who joined the Parkhead team in a £2.1million switch from Kilmarnock in September 2019.

FROZEN OUT…Greg Taylor in the sub-zero temperatures in Dingwall yesterday.

The Turkish Super Lig outfit are on the look-out for a new left-sided back-four operator and Taylor is on their radar. Spanish side Espanyol and Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Hull City are also monitoring the position, according to the Daily Record.

The player has already been linked with Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb, as CQN reported last month, while MLS sides are said to be interested.

Hoops fringe midfielder Odin Holm is heading Stateside after agreeing a long-term loan switch to Los Angeles FC.

Taylor was frozen out – almost quite literally – in Dingwall yesterday when he had to be content with a place on the substitutes’ bench in the 4-1 win over Ross County on a chilly afternoon in the Highlands.

Spaniard Alex Valle, who still has another five months on his temporary transfer from Barcelona, started the game before being replaced late on by Liam Scales.
