FORGOTTEN CELT Marco Tilio was left in tears after another injury setback during his second loan stint at Melbourne City.
The Australian international winger, who has played only 28 MINUTES for the Hoops after his £2million arrival in June last year, collapsed to the ground during the league match against Western United this morning and sparked fears of problems with his hamstring.
An emotional Tilio had to be led off the pitch and there are concerns of another lengthy lay-off.
TILIO’S TEARS…Celtic’s forgotten Aussie ace Marco Tilio is led off the field by a Melbourne City assistant.
It’s the second club blow for the 23-year-old wide Bhoy who was sidelined for two months after sustaining a hamstring tendon injury in February.
A damaged quad then ruled Tilio out contention for his nation’s 2024 Under-23 Asian Cup campaign.
Bad luck has dogged the flamboyant attacker and his hopes of hitting the ground running at Parkhead were derailed. He had to be content with cameo substitute appearances against Motherwell and Hibs before returning to his former club on loan at the turn of the year.
Tilio signed a five-year deal at Celtic when he was recruited, but already his career at the champions looks to be in jeopardy.
