‘THANK YOU, CELTIC’ – ARMSTRONG’S MESSAGE

STUART ARMSTRONG has posted a farewell note to Celtic supporters following his £7million switch to Southampton.

The Scotland international midfielder – who played his part in the Hoops’ double treble-winning side – took to Instagram to thank the club for “unforgettable moments”.

Armstrong posted: “Forever grateful to have played a small part in this great club. I will miss you @celticfc. Thank you for those unforgettable moments.”

The 26-year-old playmaker arrived in a £2million double deal alongside Gary Mackay-Steven from Dundee United in January 2015.

He became the fourth big-money Celt to join the St Mary’s club in recent years following Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster and Virgil van Dijk.
