There is nothing particularly exceptional about this. Ange Postecoglou is a sporting hero in Australia, the higher value offered to Celtic reflects this. If he was at Ibrox, the story would be different.

Yep. They were all offside. I agreed with all the VAR decisions. The Red Star players went through the Huns defence well tonight. They had the ball in the net 3 times, missed a penalty and hit the crossbar. This is what I’m basing my opinion on that the tie isn’t over. I have to admit though that Rangers know how to succeed in Europe. They are well ahead of us in negotiating their way through European ties.

It doesn’t bother me whether JHB is a Hun or not, I just disagree with the notion that we are a bunch of Individuals playing without structure & just playing off the cuff,
We have a structure & game plan and it’s working at SPFL level, the problem is we don’t have the calibre of player to get away with it in Europe.
As many have already said, Ange needs 2 years to rebuild the team, if we win the SPFL this year it will be an outstanding achievement by Ange and I think 99% of fans will be happy with that.
However next year the expectation bar will be raised.
Obviously if we win League and go straight into Group Stages even much stronger European Performances may still not be enough.
However as a Support we are savvy enough to recognize progress, I am 100% backing Ange but he must deliver improved European Performances next year,
Let’s wait & see,

Cheers – The Ibrox squad is four years in the making (48 months) – our squad was thrown together in 8 months. That we are ahead of them in the league is a massive compliment to Ange, the players and the backrooom staff. There is every chance that we will win the title, however that does not make us the ‘complete’ team.
I have been watching Celtic for around fifty years – I always want us to be the best, but one has to be honest. Of course Ange has a playing-style, but even the most avid of us must realise that it can be hit, or, miss. Surely no one believes that Ange thinks that he has his perfect squad. It is work in progress – in only eight months, how could it be anything else – he’s a good manager, not a miracle-worker.
If anyone thought that we were not a team of individuals playing ‘off the cuff’ in the two ties v Bodo, then they were watching different games to me.
We will get better and more together in the future, but let’s be honest in the interim.
