Home games against St Johnstone, Hearts and Aberdeen after facing Albion Rovers in Airdrie isn’t the most taxing period for a Celtic defender, but it would be churlish not to recognise Dedryck Boyata’s form.
The Belgian central defender has been assured and confident. His pace halted a sprightly Hearts attack and an ability to elevate his considerable bulk into the air produced the only goals against St Johnstone and Aberdeen. Without him our attempt on the world record for consecutive league wins may be over.
Is he the genuine article? Maybe. What we can say for sure is that he’s not the bomb-scare he was the previous two years.
It should be no surprise we missed so many chances last night, we were without four of this season’s top five goal-scorers – surely some kind of record?
Great for those who stepped forward when needed, Dedryck in particular, but I’ll be pleased to Leigh, or Moussa, or Tom, or Stuart back for St Johnstone on Sunday.

It get Worse :)
Even Farsley Celtic of Evo-Stik League First Division North earned almost £22,000 for contributing former striker Adam Priestley to Gibraltar’s first campaign.
CELTIC MAC @ 7:20…
I think Celtic are correct to raise the matter of the public transport links to Celtic Park which are very poor in my opinion.
As far as Hampden is concerned, parking restrictions do apply whenever there is an “event” there, be that a football match or concert.
Looking forward to history’s biggest fibs BBC4 With Lucy Worsley tonight “The Glorious Revolution” This should expose a few myths

Absolutely agree with that. But I have no faith in GCC or the bus companies to achieve it. For example First Bus, applied to close the Tollcross Bus Terminal, and sell it off to developers, might have already done so. GCC was/is in a position to prevent that happening. Behind said Bus Garage was the old works sports ground, could have been, and indeed was unofficially, used as an off street car/van park till First Bus closed it off. The unregulated bus system in and around Glasgow is not fit for purpose. Bring back the old Corporation, and the trams while you are at it. And don’t talk to me about closed down railway stations, I’m guessing you know way more about than me Gordon. Hail Hail!
Timbhoy- we were guessing what Jamie was on Shortbread…

I genuinely believe 1st.
Now I’ve seen who we have signed, I believe we will win the league. They are nowhere near as good as some would have you believe.
Providing we tighten up at the back, we’ll be fine.

I think it might just be too mcuh of a stretch this year. All the diddy teams will treat us as much more of a “cup final” than they will them, so it’s going to be tough.

First.
Nothing to fear from the rest of the teams in this league.
The will of the fans to win 55 and stop the bheast winning another title will drive the team over the line.

He used to be a city trader doncha know
I usually travel to Celtic Park by train , 1 change at central then out to Dalmarnock.
A reasonable service , under a tenner for a return ticket from Troon .
On Sunday there was maintenance work on the track & last night I was late home from work so both times I drove up by car.
Every available space on streets within five or ten minutes walk is utilised for parking .
Many of the punters have kids with them or elderly supporters .
People don’t like change . I’m glad Celtic are showing concern at the proposed parking changes by the council . They could have serious consequences on our match day attendance. IMO.
Sevco fans, hilarious idiots, worst mob of headcases and halfwits in world football.
And a s*** team of no-hopers and sad cases who believe anything their daft bigoted fans tell them.
Beyond absurdity and over the rainbow.

This parking restrictions,on match days,I personally would like to see a Railway Station, near the Parkhead Forge,at the Dunnes, store end ,a rail line is there, the train that I get from Livingston, passes by there ,fans could get off there walk through the forge,up to Gallowgate, and before you know it ,your are seated inside Celtic Park, just a thought,
CELTIC MAC @ 7:40…
I agree, bring back the trams – should never have been done withdrawn (September 1962 if I recall correctly).
gordon
September 1962 it is then. There was a little series on the various tram systems on BBC4 I think some time back, Glasgow had the most comprehensive system in all Great Britain, London included. Blind visionaries the lot of them.
This £8,000 sevco earned, was it for having a referee at the euros?

Trams in Edinburgh.
Cost so far just under £1billion.
To go from Princes St. to the airport (less than 8 miles).
A route that was/is has an excellent bus service that costs £1.70 for the journey.
Utter scandal.
AngelG- I suppose the council have not thought of keeping the parking but instaling meters? Hope they don’t lurk…
Good evening friends.
Nursing a heavy cold and resorting to my mammy’s old remedy of a basin full of boiling hot water, couple of spoonfulls of mustard and 2 feet, both being mine. Usually cures the cold within 24 hours and has the bonus of imnproving the smell of my feet.
Natknow,
You forgot to add that for that price you get a tram without air conditioning, a complete delight in the summer!
Jobo, is that dijon mustard or the american hot dog style…?
Glad to see Celtic raising the parking issue.
Total disgrace IMHO.
Wee Bobby Collins.
I looked that.
Just in case, anyone is interested, seemingly it was because of the one cap wonder boy McKay received. I know he didn’t play at the Euros but the pay outs weren’t just for players participating in the Euros.
Hail Hail
Wee Bobby Collins.
Should read I liked that. :-)

Fair point mate.
Whole thing is an utter waste of money.
Easier for any resident to get a bus/taxi to wherever they need to go.
Council tax payers footing part of the cost.
People should have lost their jobs over this.
Disgraceful waste of public and private money.

C’mon Paul67, I hope you ur my suggesting only a test from Sevco from the top 4 of the best of the can be deemed the only taxable test of Boyata? Hearts, Aberdeen an St Johnston are the bread and butter of taxing periods we face every season. So I’m happy that Boyata is well capable of handling the best of the rest.

Re the Edinburgh trams, they then have an inquiry into why it took so long and went so over budget……….and the feckin inquiry costs millions!

There’s been talk of covering the story the road to Lisbon 50 years on .
As i was impressed by your daughters contribution( camerawork/production ) on the 2 teams on the island (a couple of Celtic links thrown in too ) , i wondered if she had thought of doing something on the subject for tv .
Ps …hope her career has blossomed .

Re. Trams
My old boss, bought wan o the new flats oot at Leith near Ocean Terminal.
I think the pricing of said flats was in part based on the fact that this area was where the original tram system was planned to terminate. Not three miles away in St Andrews Square. Lots of people bought these flats on the back of the tram project…..
…. nae luck.
