In a month full of events which resonate with the spirit which inspired those who formed Celtic Football Club, last night’s Wee Oscar 4 Life race night at the Kerrydale Suite was as special as it gets. Those who were there know they gathered as a community to help the family of Oscar Knox do whatever they can to help the four-year-old through his illnesses.
If you were there, you were magnificent. Those who decided they would give their time and resources to organise the event are an inspiration to us all. It was great to hear Bobby Petta talk about the Celtic support in glowing terms. He has been back in Glasgow for a couple of years and is very much at home in Celtic. Treble-winning-captain-Tom-Boyd and Frank McAvennie didn’t need to learn about the Celtic support, they were born into it. Both were there to help and ensure the night was a success.
Performances of the night came from Oscar’s dad, Stephen, Kris Commons’ partner, Lisa and our very own Minx, who sounded like she had presented Children In Need for the last 20 years. Lisa, who is heavily pregnant, inspired the room with an uncommon touch of humanity.
By late in the evening the total raised was over £25k. Another simply stunning day in Paradise.
I’ve been offline for most of the last couple of days but have picked up on some of the issues surrounding the Green Brigade. What I haven’t missed is a single minute of action at Celtic Park this season but I’ve not seen a single incident of crowd trouble or alarm. This season our games could be ‘policed’ by stewards alone, so it is beyond curious as to why police have any interest in Celtic supporters at all.
Football operations the like of which have been reported are not the actions of officers on the ground, they are a political dictate from very high up the food chain. There is neither justification nor plausible motivation for using our tax money in this way.

I also think it is a good idea to have the info from Celtic prior to going to the police and requesting info, just another we check for comparison purposes.
Just been told ( by my other son who was laughing) that my wifevhas organised a meal out for my son’s birthday on TUESDAY …… When I asked about it ” sorry, it’s all arranged now ” …..my powers f persuasion will now have to come to the fore …LOL ……THIS COULD COST ME

I think the problem for the board is in the last year they have warmed slightly to the GB, but the information will have been provided to the Police when they had a more critical view of what they would have seen as a group of trouble-makers.
They probably would have released info previously without a productions order but may be less inclined to do so now, as no high profile cases have been successful in court.
If they have released info on our fans it will split the support.

I think it will be worth it. ;))

They need to monitor the WHOLE STADIUM or it is discrimination ….!!?
I have been travelling to Aberdeen since the 60’s by car, train, and bus but never have I encountered the level of scrutiny being applied to Celtic Supporters as I experienced this week end.
Firstly Bus delayed at Cumbernauld and taken to an off road Retail Park.luggage storage under Bus opened,Police entered Bus walked up and down without opening a single overhead locker.
Upon arrival (25 mins before KO )trying to get a quick cup of tea,Police enter Bus and ask the remaining tea drinkers if we have been searched, answering yes,the young lady Constable says OK and departs.
Approaching turnstile 2 Security Guards who did not appear to be local, nor was English their first language, asked if I had bottles, cans or flares, answering NO he says ok and allows me to pass.
Return journey was a guided tour by the most circular of routes, and all the way down the road turn off’s to towns etc had a Police car present,I can only guess they would have prevented access.
Now where a Bus is concerned I believe you need to seek permission but as for cars I believe this is intimidation and a violation of your civil liberties.
I recall in years past the Shop Keepers of places like StoneHaven, and Auchterarder were horrified that the road changes prevented the influx weekly of football traffic which provided a boost to sales.
I believe this limited access to anywhere other than the actual Stadiums will not have the full support of the local shopkeepers when else can they bump prices with impunity.
Next Northern visit I will make a point of going by car and will seek entry to some of these treasured Hamlets and if stopped I will take appropriate action with regard to the Officers concerned and prepare a complaint.
This said I believe our Board should be analysing this,I understand there are Windmills to be tilted at others to avoid but in my view this is an attempt to intimidate and therefore to justify this ridiculous law.
Our Board should be seeking clarification before unsuspecting individuals get themselves and the Club into the adverse publicity spotlight.
In fact the Club should be telling the Scottish Football Authorities if the Police do not want us then fine, let them explain to the SPL Clubs who without our unacceptable appearance they would be out of Business.
For the record neither me or my friends drink,we really are looking for a Fish Supper when in the car.

I honestly never gave Paul’s leader a thought.
I have read loads on here and other places about the polis being asked to justify the cost etc.
It seems that’s all that is happening, people talking, the subject as yet doesn’t look like it’s been broached.
It’s obvious it’s political, the polis don’t do what they are doing unless they are instructed from on high.
I remember a couple of years ago saying that once the politicos got involved there would only be one loser, us, and a few posters told me not to be so stupid that the politicians won’t get involved………………….
I said this after the dougie, dougie debacle, and I could see back then that they would get involved.
I will even go as far as to say, that the shame game thing between the fat slug and Lenny was set up.
All to conveniant that the very next day, the other fat slug Ek, decided on a summit.

Surely Celtic need to inform any fan if their info (data) is being shared with anyone …. And, they need to monitor the WHOLE STADIUM, or it is discrimination ….!!?
ftsfa…,
That is quite a claim and well written, they do clearly question the authenticity of the claim and we can question why a supporter would be told this but if true is damning.
Time for a pint
Do you support the Green Brigade action against harassment ?

It is now my intention to write a letter to celtic football club in order to ascertain whether or not they would pass any of my details to the police on request. I will also be making them aware that if it turns out that this is the case, I will not be renewing my season ticket next season.
I don’t sit in or near the gb section, but there is a principle at stake here.
Ggh
St. John Doyle
I have little doubt that CFC and all other football clubs routinely assist the polis with the provision of fans details
The above statement re CFC and their encouragement of police harassment is very concerning
ftsfa cqn BAMPOT
It is their only tactic.
It is the established tactic.
It is a TACTIC that works as long as the people are not aware it is being used against them.
As SFTB said early on, get the Whole Support on board.
Off to bed now…up too late last night …..
Ftsfa cqn bampot.
Its time the board took a stance and backed their fanbase. The more i read about the maltreatment of the gb and other fans the more i release how secular the board has become to the ordinary fan.
Cqn bampot……if that statement is true we have a major problem and it is our duty to confront those responsible on the board .
I fear this could be a long bitter dispute
Sack the board
Canalamar
Go to the Board but not using FOI as leverage to get your answer but using your shareholder status might work.
If you want to use FOI as leverage try the polis.
Hope that is clearer.
Last night in the Kerrydale suite proved once again The Celtic Family can come together and achieve great things.
Having had a wee insight into the organisation that went into the whole event only adds to the admiration I have for TEAM OSCAR.
Cant find the words to do justice to the courage of the Knox family
There is no doubt that the club is giving out fans details to police.
1 Green Brigade member has his season book under a different address from where he stays. Recently police showed up at this house looking for him. He has never stayed there or used that address for anything else. It could only have come from Celtic Park.
Heaven67…,
Already asked that and was told there seems to be no protecting or requirement to inform the subjec of the request being made.
Until we meet again.
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
we are all the GB
If we do not stand against what is happening – WHAT NEXT? Everyone in 111 gets the treatment (that would include me btw) and the rest of the family when the wee man can sit still
and when they get away with that …… the whole stadium
Frankly its a very lucky break that the EPL did not want us as our ticket money is significant to the club. If they lived in the EPL billionaire bubble I am not convinced we would be of any relevance
anyway – I will not be at the games and will support any other sanction
The criminalisation on innocent people is a national disgrace (up there with homelessness)
Everyone on here really needs to think hard about what the consequences may be of not supporting the GB and any bus organisers here should consider cancelling the basses for those games
On a lighter note.
This is whit REAL POLIS dae when on duty must hive been wan oh the GB that shopped them
et probe: Officers played poker and backgammon on duty
A south-east London neighbourhood police team has been axed after a probe found officers had been playing poker and cleaning golf clubs while on duty.
Seven officers resigned or were dismissed from Bromley’s Safer Neighbourhood Team in the Mottingham and Chislehurst North ward.
It followed an undercover operation by the Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards in 2010.
Disciplinary proceedings concluded on 23 October.
One sergeant and a PC were sacked after the Met’s disciplinary panel found them guilty of gross misconduct.
‘Lazy attitudes’
Another PC and three of the team’s community support officers resigned, while a fourth was dismissed.
In a statement, the Met said: “The disciplinary panel heard evidence that officers from the team had played backgammon and poker whilst on duty, watched TV in the office, frequently failed to go out on patrol, had not worked full tours of duty and also claimed overtime that had not been worked.

“Start Quote
These officers let the whole of the service down with their behaviour; but more importantly they let down their local community”
Commander Allan Gibson
“In addition, one officer had gone out for runs during the working day whilst a further officer cleaned his golf clubs in the office.
“These activities appear to have taken place at the expense of policing duties, such as patrolling the local area.”
Neighbourhood teams were introduced by the Met in 2004 and were subsequently rolled out across the country.
Commander Allan Gibson, head of the Metropolitan Police Service’s (MPS) Directorate of Professional Standards, said: “These officers let the whole of the service down with their behaviour; but more importantly they let down their local community.
“There is no place for lazy attitudes in the MPS and those who are found to be failing in their duties will be held to account.”
Criminal proceedings were launched against three officers following the findings of the internal investigation
If this is true, my season ticket goes back this week until there is a change in the board. I will not be attending the next two home games. HH
A member of our
club is currently
serving a 2 year
football banning
order which is under
appeal at the High
Court in Edinburgh.
As is common
practice, those
under football
banning orders are
frequently visited by
the police in the
lead-up to football
matches to ensure
and remind them
that they should stay
away from the
forthcoming match
or face arrest. Our
member had the
pleasure last week of
having two police
officers visit his
home on
Wednesday and the
same again on
Thursday to warn
against attending
both the Aberdeen
and Benfica fixtures.
Rightfully believing
this level of
attention to be
wholly unnecessary,
our member visited
Helen Street Police
Station to complain.
It was what the
police said next
which is most
important – should
they be telling the
truth that is. They
claimed that they
had received a
phone call from
Jamie Church (Celtic
security) who had
advised them that
our member was
planning on going to
Lisbon for the
Benfica match – he
was not. This would
have been a difficult
task for him
regardless
considering
Strathclyde Police
were actually
holding his passport
until this impromptu
meeting.
Further still, the
police officer
expanded by
claiming that they
are simply acting on
the information
being supplied to
them by Celtic. The
Officer stated that
they really aren’t
interested in chasing
up Celtic fans and/
or members of the
Green Brigade
however are doing
so at the request of
the club. The officer
went on to claim
that Celtic want to
see an end to any
Republican songs
being aired at Celtic
matches. However
to actually come out
and say so could
potentially cause
upset with a large
percentage of the
support. Instead
Celtic are working
with Strathclyde
Police in going after
individuals one by
one in an attempt to
secure bans.
While we obviously
hope for this
information to be
untrue or at worst
twisted we believe it
to be a worrying
development and it
is in the best interest
of the Celtic support
for it to be public
knowledge. It is even
more concerning
when considering
how this information
fits in with what the
Green Brigade have
already told us
regarding how their
members are
currently being
targeted.
The Govan Emerald
CSC and The Temple
Tims CSC gives its
unequivocal support
to the Green Brigade
in their current
struggle against the
police, and indeed
any other Celtic
supporters currently
being harassed or
victimised. We call
on Celtic to distance
themselves from the
above claims and
going forward to do
far more to defend
the people who are
the very lifeblood of
our great club.
Auldheid,
It does, cheers, all I’m looking for is access to the info and the most efficient way to get it with the least amount of barriers
Hail Hail time for t pub
Ftsfa cqn bampot.
If true, tis a very worrying state of affairs.

Shocking stuff
I hope you guys take this as far as you can
First it’s section 111
Then what ?
Section 112 113 114 ect ect
After the highs of this year we are heading for a low ending
Very sad :(

My daughter’s birthday on Tuesday as well……….fortunately managed to have the party on Satuurday. The price was a house full of 13yr olds overdosing on Irn Bru etc last night, but worth paying to enjoy Tuesday! HH
If Celtic are aiding and abetting the police in targeting Celtic fans it’s over for me ; I won’t renew 4 season tickets until the person(s) responsible are removed from the board.
Celtic are playing with fire and for Lawwell to say he was unaware of the GB situation at the AGM is hard to believe.
Time to tell us Mr Lawwell if you have been helping the Police criminalise the Celtic support.
UTLR
Is there not a friendly lawyer out there who would give his services for free, failing that, I;m sure the support will chip in to fight the injustice.
ftsfa cqn BAMPOT
Exactly – it’s coming to everyone if it’s not stopped
and once it is established as being okay inside CP then (given they seem to have been given our personal details) it will start outside CP
believe me if this is taken lightly it is going nowhere nice …… removing sites like this????
