The Celtic Story in 2088 will write about this time

804

When someone writes the Celtic Story on our 200th anniversary there will be a page about when The Thai Tims came to Glasgow.  It’s a part of the Celtic Story which reaches from 1888 to the present day, and, if we do our job as Celtic fans well, will ensure the character of the club retains a distinct and generous flavour.

The Thai Tims, formally the Good Child Foundation, arrive from Thailand next month and will perform at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on Thursday 10 May, tickets are £12 and £6 for kids.  If you have enjoyed them on YouTube, and I know you have…. buy a couple of tickets here or call 08444 77 1000 and get along before they’ve sold out.

You can also support the Good Child Foundation by contributing to the fundraising exercise via their Everyclick page.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday on the question about whether not registering players correctly was cheating.  Busy, busy.  Will get to it as soon as I can – no answering this question early, that’s cheating.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

Thanks to everyone who has bought a hard copies of the magazine, it looks like the sold out sign will go up again.  Order your copy for delivery by clicking on the link below for news and views from Celtic supporters.

Have a heart: have you any idea how hard it must be to count out 44p when you’ve got trotters instead of hands … ?

  2. Anyone any comment of the team GB football strip? Personally i do not wish to see any Celtic player wrapped in a derivation of ‘the butchers rag’. Surely a less jingoistic choice could have been made a neutral colored shirt with a badge depicting the national emblems of each region of the UK similar to the British lions rugger team. I can see the shirt being a huge hit at Ibroke.

Well done to all for contributing to Niamh’s fund.

Would love to see something like this at the Trongate. Maybe a tad controversial right enough. But something equally iconic at the “island” on Trongate…its a site crying out for a symbolic monument, statue or work of art.

  4. Morning all. Sprained ankle Monday evening and can’t get into work. Boss getting jumpy.

Read some of the stuff on Celtic Tax Case blog and also the Chris Graham site. The first one is the cyberspace equivalent of putting on a blindfold then putting your hand in a bucket and then flinging

sh.t at the wall and hoping it sticks . The other gadgie seems a touch more intelligent but rather less amusing than CTC. Knows nothing about nothing but like Dingwall something deeply unpleasant lurks within.

As for where we win the league I just hope it’s as soon as.

  5. Has anyone else noticed how the “moderate” and “decent” huns have become infected by a voracious strain of paranoia recently…a type normally reserved exclusively for those serial methadone abusers with serious Mogadon and White Lightning addiction?

It makes me trepidatious for Sunday.

Love the psychological profiling of the Orcs. You may like to take a look at Lawrence Kholbergs theory of moral development too. There is certainly a gulf of difference in intellect, but there is also a huge void when it comes to basic morality too. Auldheid has posted on it this morning over on RTC.

  9. celtic taxcase blog up if anyone is interested. difficult to know if its serious or not but this one line does stand out:

“Q. Are Celtic guilty of this? When is the bill likely to land at Celtic Park?

    A. In all honesty at the moment we don’t know but the chances are they are maybe guilty.”

  10. I won’t be surprised to hear of mass insanity amongst der hun forthwith. People taken hostage in Dunkin Donuts or the local Kebab King…baboons running wild in Bridgeton Cross…snorkil wearing gangs of black toothed melon heads killing Tims with their halitosis…a monstrous regiment of tattooed midgets on hun safari…I can see these nipple faced beasts crawl out of their venal hell holes and wandering like jabbering zombies…aaahhh! The NIGHTMARE of it all! Something like the final days at Ibrokes…these people need to be put down like filthy beasts…if only for the common good!

Let’s get this straight. Rangers are in massive financial difficulty. The club is in very real danger of going out of business as a result of gross mismanagement over a 20 year period and it’s the journalists and bloggers who broke the story who are your enemy???

Now, rather than try to find out who is to blame for taking your club to it’s knees, you’d rather set up a blog trying to dig up dirt on Celtic??

I shall watch with interest for what you manage to uncover. Just a wee hint though – RTC had ACTUAL evidence rather than just a hunch when he started his blog. I’m sure though he will be chuffed that you are such an admirer of his work that you have decided to try and copy him. The choice of name for your blog shows some marvellous original thinking on your part too.

Anyway, I’m sure you’re busy so I’ll leave you to it.

If I uncover any unpaid parking tickets around Celtic Park I’ll be sure to let you know.

They will have the power to vote ANY change that they want.

What is to stop them from outlawing any such membership scheme or changing the rules that membership scheme income should also be shared?

Celtic must get out of the SPL.

The route of least resistance is by buying a vulnerable English club.

    Q. So what’s next?

    A. A lot more digging to be done but we will be back at some point next week to put some flesh on the bones we’ve outlined above. Anyone who can provide us with any evidence to support what we think might have happened at Celtic Park please contact me on twitter @celtictaxcase

we are far too kwik to write up these guys. this celtic tax break guy seems pretty clued up from what i have read. we better be careful there is not anything in it or we will be dragged down into insurgency like them.

    Q. Are HMRC currently investigating Celtic?

    A. At the moment the short answer is no. Having said that though the short answer is very misleading. HMRC have declared war on football clubs as Portsmouth, Hearts and Rangers have found out in recent months. There has been also some less well reported exchanges between HRMC and football clubs over the use of image rights which I personally think has certain people at Celtic Park very worried.

  21. PMSL; surely the Celtic tax case site is run by a Tim taking the P? If not it seem that evidence gathered is superstition supported by innuendo with an extra large dollop of let’s make it all up. If a H*n is responsible for this I assume that he has the support /advice of a very competent legal team otherwise I feel a wee writ from DD and Celtic may be heading his way – Stupid Stupid H*N. :-o

If the reports are true and Celtic PLC is refusing to support attempts by ten members of the SPL to change the present structure of the league then alarm bells need to start ringing. I mentioned a couple of weeks back that, given the imminent collapse of and possible liquidation of one, maybe two, of Scotland’s biggest clubs, Celtic need to offer an alternative vision to the present set-up. Failure to even countenance change, at a time when Scottish football is both crying out for it, and by all accounts prepared to vote for it, will show Celtic in a very poor light indeed. It raises the likelihood, in this supporter’s mind at least, that Celtic PLC are quite happy with a ten team SPL, and one in which they participate as part of the Old Firm. The PLC’s reluctance to even discuss or debate change will alienate the rest of Scottish football at a time when Celtic should be, not just offering, but giving leadership. Those attending Ibrox on Sunday need not worry about it being the last Celtic-Rangers game there , if I am right, and I hope I am hopelessly wrong, there will be plenty Old Firm matches to come, courtesy of Celtic PLC!
