Best news of the day?  Kris Commons wants to be involved tomorrow against Barcelona.  I doubt Kris is anywhere near match fit, so there’s no chance of him starting on Wednesday against Astana, but a 15 minute cameo, when the Astana players’ body clocks are telling them it’s after 2am, would go down a treat.

I’ve always been a bit more ambivalent about Leonel Messi than most.  “He’s not hit the levels of Ronaldinho” is my stock comment, and then there’s the dirty little subject.  (Tax).

But his media comments ahead of tomorrow’s International Champions Cup game, “I have a Celtic jersey at home. The games against Celtic were special and I want to remember them”, proves there’s substance to the man.

I’ve a Celtic jersey at home too, Leo.  A few of us here do.

Former-Rangers former vice-chairman Donald Findlay is to defend Craig Whyte is his forthcoming trial.

Whyte’s urban legend is going to be difficult to shift, but it’s not accurate.  We mocked Rangers fans a few years ago, referring to him as “Our Hero” but he never was.  He was the bag man for a very dirty job.

How he handled the SFA, Uefa, HMRC and, most crucially, the insolvency court, when he managed to secure the appointment of Duff and Phelps as Rangers administrators was crucial in the continuation of football at Ibrox.

It was Duff and Phelps who gave Newco the right to use the name “Rangers”, after which point Whyte could claim he was passing on “Rangers”.  Everyone else mocked this liquidation fantasy at the time.  Until liquidation became a reality, that is.

Whyte left Newco relatively safe in the hands of Charles Green, where it would have thrived, if it hadn’t faced a hostile and damaging takeover bid from its first week of life.

Money raised from the auction will go towards building a school kitchen in Malawi for Mary’s Meals. It it will be the 5th CQN school kitchen.

Our four existing kitchens feed over 2000 primary aged kids every day. School attendance has increased 30% since kitchens were built, as kids attend for their daily meal. This has an impact on health, education and life chances.

    Did the press post what Astana fan said about it? The Kazakh writes in Russian what happened there.

    Do I deduce from your faux indignation that you approve of the loutish behaviour by the numpty wearing our colours?

     

     

    It is never right to act in such a way, whether it is in Hamilton letting off flares whilst hiding behind banners, or, attacking a youngster in Kazakhstan, of all places.

    My take on the scarf stealing. Was it a Celtic fan who took the footage and then posted it somewhere? If so, he is an even bigger fud than the flabby fart who took the scarf.

     

     

    Could not care less if he was unemployed, fully waged, a trust fund recipient, lottery winner or a crook. He is a moron.

     

     

     

    Anyway, to better things….Celtic play today and it’s not raining so that’s a decent start to the day. Lots to do so I better crack on.

    I watched the Vidio of the Celtic fan grabbing the kids scarf, I wasent comfortable with it at all as a Celtic supporter I do not condone this sort of behaviour at all, there where not many Celtic fans at that game, so I’m sure CFC will act accordingly and find the guy and deal with him as they see fit to do so, this is not the way we see our selfs as Celtic supporters IMO.

    Ablaikhan Muzhubayev wrote he was at the derby games – both places, Celtic Park and Ibrox. He knew very well what Rangers scarf meant on the evening when the game against Astana was played.

     

     

    Now something important.

     

     

    What that video does not show is,few second,just few seconds after the scarf was grabbed, Celtic fan gave it back and apologized. Ablaikhan Muzhubayev said it was kind of the joke.

    Well I have my scarf out, heading into town in about 15 minutes to get the bus to Dublin. Meeting Almore at O’Connell Bridge and off to a session arranged by the Spirit of 88 CSC for a bit of pre game craic..

     

    Looking forward to the day, the result does not really matter but Celtic are in the shop window and I hope they put on a good show. As always we are battling against the Sky saturation & promotion of the EPL, so today is important for Irish Celtic Supporters, we want to put on a bit of a show too.
