There are names suggested as being on Celtic’s shortlist, but there is no informed comment. This mirrors the appointments of Ange Postecoglou in 2021 and Brendan Rodgers in 2023.
The day Ange accepted the offer, almost the entire body of Celtic fans had to look up how to spell his name. Brendan’s return was met more by incredulity than expectation. The weeks before Ange’s appointment influenced Celtic. While John Kennedy was interim manager, the club openly pursued Eddie Howe.
Howe was (and is) a successful manager, Celtic were keen and most of us believed he would have been a good fit. That positive narrative seeped out of Celtic Park, only to crash when Howe declined the opportunity.
Compare and contrast to the open briefings last month across the city, as sources close to the club churned through a number of candidates who were close to being announced as manager, only to decline.
Information is currency and those low on other currencies can use information to buy favour with the media. Whether the information is good or bad does not matter to the media, who only need to attract eyeballs. If we are told Steven Gerrard is to be appointed manager within a few days and it doesn’t happen, they have another story to tell us when the bomb drops. Everyone wins (not really).
The Eddie Howe fiasco was a lesson in discretion. Business like this is best conducted in private. All we know for sure is that the boards have been cleared. Brendan’s crew, alongside John Kennedy and chief scout Jay Lefevre have all left the building. I don’t know who will be manager, but he will be the first of several new appointments in the coaching and scouting department.

Just reading back and seen the Lennon debate. Many saying that when BR left and Lenny secured the treble, then that was the time to part company.
I’m a bit perplexed why the following season seems to have been erased from everyone’s memory. Are we so blasé as a support that we can wipe out a treble winning season because we eventually missed out on a ten.
Lenny secured 5 out of that 9. We would never have been going for a ten, if we weren’t already on a nine.
I was disappointed in that last season but I will never castigate those who took us to nine
Come on Ireland you’ve got this
🟩⬜️🟧
Initially I would not have been in favour of keeping Martin and Shaun on past the internationl break but I’m now of the opinion that we keep them on until we are as sure as can be of getting the very best candidate in , be that January or even season’s end .
For me there are big question marks over some of the names mentioned . Cheap and/or readily available are not two of the qualities required but neither is unproven or limited in experience .
Of course the whole thing’s a gamble but we must limit the risk .
Liam left back in a five…
Interesting…
Hail Hail
It has nothing to do with that Clinko.
He spoke out in support of DD and PL.
‘‘The Movement’ now want him cancelled.

“It was the Celtic Board who helped them stay in business”
……
Celtic board set the 49 quid ticket trap, and recruited Brendan-1 to sugar coat those treason tickets.
But of course Brendan wouldn’t have known anything about this. lol
And fans bought the tickets then they fans sang Rangers are dead. lol
The Old Firm boards in the directors box at Ibrox in December 2016 when they looked over at The Broomloan Road Stand and watched 7,000 Celtic season ticket holders who had just paid 49 quid [old dead Rangers ticket price from 2012] to watch Sevco vs Celtic, and then make an absolute erchie of themselves singing about Rangers being dead.
They just bought a ticket that cemented the same club lie FFS!
Same old Timdom post 1994 – all talk no troosers!
For 4 years before the above game, Celtic fans told the world 24/7 from 2012 – 2016 from CQN’s best blog in the Timmysphere that Rangers died and Sevco are a new club.
EVERY DAY FOR FOUR YEARS!
Of course they are.
BUT.
Sevco and Celtic PLC’s, AFTER Sevco’s 2016 promotion to the Spl, set a ticket trap to cement the Old Firm same club lie, and got the Toxic Rodgers Virus to sugar coat these 49 quid TREASON TICKETS, and DIMMMMMMM TIMS were climbing over each other to get into Ibrox and give the Huns fans laldy.
BUT.
Instead of giving the Huns fans laldy, these 7,000 empty heids threw Celtic’s Integrity Soul into the fires of hell.
AND STILL, to this day, these Celtic Collective folk haven’t a clue about this ROYAL shafting that they received from both Celtic and Sevco PLC’s, meaning that EVERYBODY knows that Tims are dimmmmm, apart from, the dimmmm Tims!
OR, maybe these fans are the new kids on the block who know no shame????
Throw some Tangerines and Tennis balls and then swagger aboot thinking they are the new ADAMS and MCGUINNESS’s.FFS!
I wish too fk that they were!
Either way – Utterly Unacceptable!
What a time to be alive.
HH
oot.
Neil Lennon didny buy a 49 quid same-club-lie-ticket.
So how is he a bad guy?
Bring back the LENNON Factor.
HH
oot.
TML,
Ah,so writing, during a debate over ticket allocations for the final,
“St Mirren have 1,000 ST holders” Was a bit of banter, was it.H,mm,not very good banter.
Again, maybe with a condescending ,know all like yourself, its difficult to tell…Nah,not having it.
I think you meant it.Well,at least,we won’t be seeing you in any Comedy Clubs.
worth a proper read, excellent summary of the financials.

3rd rangers might be an exit strategy.

Celtic has released the full 2024-25 Annual Report.
I will try to stick to reporting on the report and refrain from too many editorial comments on Celtic’s current situation. Please excuse me if this post sounds cheery.
Note that the Chairman’s Report by Lawwell is the same as the one in the preliminary release of 19 September.
Revenue
Revenue exploded to a record £143.6m (2024 – £124.6m, then a record). The increase was driven by Football & Stadium Operations at £61.2m (2024 – £50m) and Multimedia/Commercial at £52.3m (2024 – £44.5m)
The F&SO increase was due to 29 home matches vs 24 in 23-24. The MM/C increase was due to additional UEFA revenue from improved UCL results.
Operating Expenses
OpEx falls into 2 broad categories: Labor and Other OpEx.;;

Obviously, Alex Ferguson was an outstanding manager for Aberdeen. That said, a decent argument can be made for Billy McNeill having laid the foundations of later success.
I remember listening to him speak at a Q&A in Greenock’s Loreto Club months after his first appointment as Celtic’s manager. He spoke almost wistfully about Aberdeen, its Board and its Chair. So much so that I felt that he may have had buyer’s remorse.
But it became clear that both he and John Clark were steeped in Celtic and that no other club could exert Celtic’s magnetism.
TheOriginalSadiesBhoy @ 8:06 pm,
Not sure – I’m watching it on Amazon Prime PPV.

Chairbhoy….I salute your indefactibility and im sure I’d like you in real life but in the last 2 days you have stated nonsense or even lies to suit your agenda….
1. The Celtic board wanted to sell Johnny Kenny to Bolton for £500k and BR stepped in snd said no….mate. were not 12yo and we realise that is unprovable Bullshit.
2.The Eddie Howe post….C’mon to fek.
3. Dermot Desmond was drunk when he made his statement about BR……
just ti be clear, me and thousands of others Celtic fans were/are happy he said what he said.
4. MON bought Stephen Pearson with his own money.
5. You’re watching the Ireland game on Amazon Prime ppl….no you’re not- You’re watching on a firestick.
Mate, you’re jumping the shark here and even the fanbhoys know that Brendan was a conman who would have sunk our season to save his ‘reputation’.
TheOriginalSadiesBhoy @ 8:30 pm,

Dara O’Shea outstanding amongst many others when we had to defend a bargain also 8m a couple of year ago.

Great win for Ireland.Seamus Coleman.What a man..
