When this publishes, I should be a few kilometres into the Great Scottish Run. These events can be humbling. You see people there with messages on their shirts. ‘The big C’ gets a lot of mentions, in many of its forms, as does heart disease and conditions most of us will, fortunately, be less familiar with. Some simply have a loved one’s smiling photograph on their back. Their former feeling of helplessness matured into purposeful action.
I’m running for Celtic Charity’s 1254125 campaign. This is not something controlled or even organised by the club, but it is fundamental to what Celtic Football Club is. The Celtic Movement was called together in a church hall in November 1887 to alleviate the distress of poverty in those unable to feed themselves. It is different from other clubs because it started differently and has since walked unfamiliar roads.
The spirit to help others has been increasingly self-evident in recent years but I am sure the commitment has become more embedded as a result of 1254125. It is now part of our routine, what we know to expect from ourselves.
We will only stay different if you and I continue to insist we walk (or run) unfamiliar roads. We all worry about where our club is going. There is little we can do about many potential dangers but we can make sure Celtic remains anchored to the spirit which founded it. You can support 1254125 through the MyDonate page I setup to convince me I shouldn’t give up halfway through this run. Your support is appreciated.
Yesterday we lost Cllr George Ryan, or St John Doyle, as he was known on these pages. George touched the lives of hundreds of people but unless you were in direct contact, you would not know what he did for the people of Glasgow, for Celtic supporters in difficulty, or even for the Thai Tims. He was an exceptional Celtic man who lived the way exceptional Celtic people have ever since that meeting in St Mary’s Hall.

We are not in the Cup draw tomorrow, we come in at 4th round. Only the wee teams in League One join in at 3rd round stage
With regards to playing Sevco in the Scottish Cup, I for one do not think we would roll over them. Are we playing great at the moment? And more importantly The MiBs will be well briefed how this game will end, akin the last game at Ayrbrokes when we had two players sent off, and the MiB blowing early as we pulled it back to 3-2.
The Establishment have no shame, the mission to get the new club up the divisions is in full swing, in that time they will go unpunished for anything they do.
I do not want to ever see us playing them again, enjoying being ‘Hun Free’ even if it means empty seats around me at CP. The day they enter our league is the day I leave, for good.
Hail Hail
Be careful not to hit him anywhere near the mouth,It would be like punching a claw hammer.

No chance I’m going out in Ayr tonight. But if I see Tanner in the future I’ll pass on your message. He is a total fud.
I live very close to Somerset Park but luckily the zombies are being directed away from my street. Can’t even hear them.
Thankfulforsmallmercies CSC
I wonder how Hooper feels sitting on the bench, watching this dross in the week he could have been playing Barcelona? Ah but, his manager said during the week that Gary had to get used to playing with a better class of players. Iniesta, Xavi, Pedro, Neymar and company don’t count I suppose?

‘The day they enter our league is the day I leave, for good.’
Here Here or Hear Hear *depending on the grammarists*
I hope Celtic will be coming with me though.

This place is a wee bit special with its cammaraderie(most of the time) :))but I have met good friends like yourself and others who without CQN I would probably never have met.
Stay well young mhan .

Was that playing against a better class of player or playing with
The former is accurate ..the latter …not sure about that ….some real duffers in that Norwich outfit
For those of you expressing concern in anticipation of tomorrow’s draw for the third round of the Scottish Cup, may I offer some reassurance by reminding you that the big teams don’t join in this year until the 4th round, by which time many of the current Scottish Division 1 teams will already be aff oot. Hopefully ;-)
As Hooper comes on for the (ahem) mighty Norwich City…

The will of the custodians differs from the fans ….one mans sorrow is another mans financial opportunity
Jobo Baldie
Thank you for that bud :))

Ruddy with a big dose of the Joe Harts….

3-1…, Willian …cracker
What a strike by Will.I.An
Nae win bonus for Gary this week
3-1 Chelsea. Ruddy rubbish for second; could do nothing about third.
Well done jobo
Tallynhoy,
I really doubt that anyone connected with Celtic in any capacity wants us to ever face thon deid team ever again.
Palacio
I agree
sadly I’m hearing more and more Celtic fans uttering the dreaded words – we need them back – or, especially – I miss the derbies.
Saddens me.
I love not having them in our lives.
If they sneak back in to the top flight I would rather we refused to play them and offered up the 3 points at every opportunity.
The real shame is that they will be back and they’ll be trumpeted back and our club might be complicit in that.
I’ll never watch a game involving that team again – live, recorded or otherwise.
u
Parkheadcumsalford
the a Great Desmondo is on record as wanting them in the SPL …he misses the challenge apparently
The money men at CFC want them in the SPL ……make no mistake
Treve wins the Arc……..wee Frankie will be sick.
Uly
Our current custodians actions re sevco, Ogilvie etc depresses me greatly ….
But they cannae come back cause they’ve never been ….
PF
Leave me alone in my fantasy.
I’m on record as retiring the season ticket if that sad day comes to pass- I’ll pick and choose games, and generally try and reinvent myself.
Celtic will not be Celtic and if there are no men with that same vision, so be it, – I’m
reasonably content, in the knowledge I’ll never see the reincarnation live at CP (or anywhere else) of the cheating club that was wound up.
Leftclick, TommysBhoy, CRC, thanks.
That is a great feeling, the last mile felt like 10.
But approaching the finish line Mrs Doc, Miss Doc and Jeannie Doll screaming me on made it worth it.
I’ve yet to meet a paying Celtic supporter who misses them or wants them back and I don’t know anyone in same boat who has either. Anyway they cant come back. They’ve shuffled off their mortal coil. The Huns are deed!
Doc
Well done.
I hope to do it next year. Long term objective.
PFayr,
I know what DD said. Personally, I don’t believe a word of that. Imo, DD isn’t in it for the money. I may, of course, be well wide of the mark but it’s my opinion. Can’t believe any Celtic person would want any truck with them.
Off to gym now
Leftclicktic – Gentleman mate.
I was thinking about you when the hangover kicked in!!
You are one strong-minded individual.
All the respect in the world Sir.
Laters.
Bourne
Aren’t you giving credence to their claim that they’re the same club by not attending a game against Sevco?
Watched the Chelsea game …decent
Hooper came on in the 72 min ….don’t think he touched the ball …seriously
Anyone know the odds of Celtic being in the champions league final by 2019?
……pfayr
My read was that Hughton was primarily referring to Norwich colleagues but also to EPL players in general. Many dumplings at Norwich but I would not object to having Snodgrass back at Celtic nor Wes Hoolihan.
Doc
Congratulations mate a fantastic effort!
Maggie
Any price you’d want mate

The empty seats around CP tell us that some fans are missing the deadclub fixture. I know some of these fans the type who looked forward to the old fixture, still call them by their old name etc etc.
Hopefully we can move on to a better league somewhere but I am not holding my breath. There is a lot to be played out in the next few years, and maybe they will go tits up again but the path will always be clear for their return, I would not put it past SFA of Government funding to keep a blue team ‘alive’ at Ayrbrokes.
Whilst they called us paranoid in the past, we all suspected widespread cheating by officials and the SFA, this has gone well past Paranoia, we paid good money for years into a corrupt game, I will not make that mistake again. My love for Celtic will never die,but my financial support will, I will gladly give my SB up to anyone who wants to see the deadclub fixture.
A new league or them dying for good, I hope and pray.
Hail Hail
Anyone know the odds of Celtic being in the champions league final by 2019 against Rangers?
BSR & Palacio…I also will give up when those thugs enter our league. I don’t know what I’ll do but I know for sure that I will not be contributing to a corrupt and biased spfl…and never again will I watch a game alongside those morons…
