In what increasingly looks like a facsimile of updates on the defence of Bagdad in 2003, Duff and Phelps continue to accentuate the positives about the potential bidders for Rangers Football Club or its assets but the charade is finally running out of acts.
This afternoon’s withdrawal of interest by the Blue Knight (singular), Paul Murray, the accountant who was a director of Rangers during the hugely controversial EBT years, and Brian Kennedy, should allow minds to focus on the most important question, what next?
Here’s a prediction for you:
Rangers Football Club will play their last game on Sunday 13 May 2012. One day next week, possibly even before the appeal against the SFA Disciplinary Tribunal punishment, one, or perhaps more, of the prominent players who have been jockeying for position recently will commence proceedings to buy a club in the Scottish Football League, or form a new club, ask for permission to play at Airdrie or Paisley, and apply for SFA membership. If membership is granted, an application will be lodged to join the Scottish Football League as soon as a vacancy becomes available.
In time Craig Whyte will sell or otherwise lose control of Ibrox Stadium, and if it is still in an operable condition, the football team hoping to profit from the demise of Rangers will look to acquire rights to play there.
You have witnessed an incredible period of Scottish social history in recent months.

THE EXILED TIM 1417
Indeed. When I was still staying in Kilwinning, certain people could be very loose-lipped in my company,so I know what you mean.
It’s not that they forgot I was there, just that they forgot I was a left-footer!

Someone just tweeted this to Spiers: Yet Motherwell at to finish 3rd behind RFC and miss out on £900k prize money. That is THE scandal of the season, must admit I hadn’t thought of that if the blatant cheating is as bad as would seem to be laid out in the report, how in gods name does the league allow them to collect the money for finishing second??

just watched the promo video for the road to Lisbon book, reminded me of converations I had about with my late Dad about that night….yes I was born a few months earlier, I often asked him what it was like….he didn’t go that often to games, but loved Celtic & football and played to a very high level, got amateur caps for Scotland, he always told me of how magical that night was and always said that there were huns throwing themselves off of buildings ….I think he would be happy about what is happening right now, his football career was cut short by the Army and other factors?????
Do you think they’ll be thowing themselves off the buildings soon :>))
wish he was here to see it

Well done last night.
Your analysis of this entire saga over the past months has been the must read summation of what is likely to occur as opposed to the flavoured soundbites of the so called journalists.
One thing has bothered me during this whole saga.
I am certainly no mind reader, or even a body language expert, but every time I have seen McCoist being interviewed, I have never once been able to get the tought out of my head, that ‘This little cheating **** is lying through his teeth”.
Every interview, the same expressions and sayings: I am led to believe… Having spoken at length.. etc etc
My thoughts I think, are beginning to look correct….
Aw Naw
I am becoming increasingly concerned/convinced that you somehow have access to my record collection.

Follow the money is always the best rule folks.
Ticketus have always insisted their deal for the tickets is bomb proof. So bomb proof in fact they were of the opinion it would survive a NewCo.
Ticketus state they did not loan money but purchased assets.
The court case left the decision in limbo.
Ticketus now take Whyte to court to recoup the money they shelled out for the purchase of said assets.
Why? Deal hasn’t been ripped up by admins. This leaves one glaring conclusion….
Ticketus do not believe any of the assets they purchased will be sold for next year……
Follow the money.

Hi Paul,
Interesting prediction, I know you mentioned the SFL but do you know why Falkirk were barred from the SPL when they proposed a ground share with Airdrie United?
————————————————-
In 2003, Falkirk had written agreement with Airdire to share their (at the time) SPL compliant ground. Although ground sharing was not allowed by the SPL rules at the time there was the option to a) waive the rules or b) allow a leasing arrangement. This was put to the vote by the clubs and the old pals act kicked in – Motherwell were saved from relegation because of this (both Celtic and Rangers voted against letting in Falkirk). Given the ground restrictions were ludicrous (10K seats for Falkirk!), that subsequently ICT were allowed to play in Aberdeen (120 miles away!!!) and Falkirk actually met the criteria on a leasing basis – it was scandalous.
But goes to highlight as Doncaster has shown that the rules are vague guidelines to be used or abused as per the requirement to hand. Seems Motherwell had pals in the SPL at the time.

Worst thing the huns could have done was appeal the transfer embargo, now everyone will get to see the depths they stooped to this season to cheat.
I wonder what the other SPL chairman are thinking, now that their fans are aware of all of this also.
I also wonder what Uefa are thinking in regard to Financial Fair Play.
Burn in Hell rangers!!
Anyone think we should sign Allan McGregor, imagine how wound trhe perma raging hordes would be?
A mate of mine and fellow CQNer was drinking with Lennon at the player of the year awards in thistle hotel recently til the early Hours and he said that Lennon siad that its unlikely Forster will sign.

I’ve only had to pay the Solidaritaetszuschlag once myself, in a month when I earned 2,000 euros, so can’t complain. Anyway, I’m off to the (restored-by-tax-money) medieval Biergarten myself shortly. Maybe order some Eis to go with it.

McCoist has also called on the supporters to be fair-minded when a preferred bidder is revealed.
He said: “The fans have been nothing short of sensational but they must keep the faith. They are 100 per cent right to be guarded but they must give people a chance.
“They need to be fair and open-minded.”
=====================================================
McCoist said the fans had been `sensational`
Some examples of the word `sensational` from the Thesaurus…………
x-rated, coarse, arresting, horrifying, lurid, pungent, rough, scandalous, shocking, staggering, tabloid, vulgar, excessive
Aye, Coisty, you got that one right.

Rolling around the floor mate….!
Charles Green, who led the club into ruinous debt and was the subject of fan protests? The same guy who wanted the league in England to reverse rules allowing owners to have stakes in more than one club? That guy?
Hahahahaha. Too perfect.

Although I dont doubt that friends in low places helped, I didnt agree that Falkirk should get promoted. There were other teams in the First Division who had stadiums that met the criteria. They had obviously spent money on those stadiums, while Falkirk had not, which left them with more money to spend on players. This seemed to give them an unfair advantage, so I didnt think they should get to go up.
From memory, they had to present when they would have their ground SPL compliant, with a plan. I dont think people believed their plan would happen in time. Where as, with Inverness, they only played at Aberdeen for half a season I think, and completed the season in their new Stadium, which I dont think Falkirk either committed too, or could manage.
But thats a while ago now, cant even remember who went down, to let Inverness up. But I think there were differences, although at first glance, the situation appears the same.
