Playing at home against the side who last night finished 35th in the 36 team Conference League table is surely bound to give Celtic some respite from the recent avalanche of defeats. Aberdeen travelled home from Prague during the night after a 3-0 defeat to Sparta. A home draw against an Armenian side and a draw in Cyprus was enough to earn them a point more than bottom team Rapid Vienna.
Domestically, however, they are in fine form. Their last defeat was in October and came on the back of a long flight home from Athens, where they suffered a 6-0 drubbing. Since then, they have won five and drawn twice in the league, beating Hearts in the process. Four wins and a draw in their last five games puts them top of the form table, two points better than anyone else over that period.
On Sunday, I expect Aberdeen to redeploy their approach to this year’s Scottish Cup Final, when they sat in and waited on a Celtic mistake. Practically any result is possible, let’s hope a corner is turned.

Only Martin O’Neill & team get us out of jail.
That’s what the zombies and hearts fear.
Players have given up on Nancy.
It’s that simple.

Just listened to a bunch of young Green Brigade Neds on the RGC podcast railing against the state of things. Guys like David Farrell who have no clue about football. Disgraceful disloyalty.
QUADBHOY – When it comes to pulling us out of a death spiral and potentially saving our season, yes I think our board has an obligation to tell him. In any other business I would expect the same. Nancy has not earned the right to demand he is free of interference from his bosses.
Daily Record article, with picture of masked fan pointing a knife at Celtic board, that’s what we really needed.
There’s the threats of violence.
EEJIT!
Back the team, sack the Board.
In the photo, he’s leaning over a policeman to do it.
. . .. . and a child in a wheelchair

I saw the photo doing the rounds last night. At first glance it looks like a knife right enough, but zoom in and it looks like the design of the jacket of the Police officer immediately behind.
In any event, the guy ‘wielding’ it is stretching over the top of another Police officer with a dozen others standing around unconcerned.
You can see it on this page and try to figure it out for yourself: https://www.reddit.com/r/ScottishFootball/comments/1pq12bd/removed_by_moderator/
It’s not a good look, but the Daily Record have excelled themselves as we’ve come to expect.

“Nancy has not earned the right to demand he is free of interference from his bosses.”
He has been hired to do a job he is presumably (allegedly?) qualified to do and has experience of. That should qualify him to do the job as he sees fit. Yes he has budget constraints etc placed on him by people qualified in accts/business but meddling in formation or team management? Romanov-esque. Our own board are telt often to GTF for less than that.

Quadbhoy 👍
wonder what kind of knife that would be – maybe he had some brie up his jook too – the buy above him can be seen to be holding what looks like flesh coloured 3d gun too – i’ll believe it when somebody (standing next to several polis with a knife and some other guy taking photos who would no doubt be able to assist the polis) has his door kicked in before the game on sunday.
happy to be wrong.
did anyone see the rabbit and the old lady ?
Not the first time DR has doctored a photo
The Daily Thugs n Thieves
Test
An Dun sorry as i went aff oot ,as they say on here , but to answer your question re the minis v maxies game a draw would be nice and failing that a minis win as i think( hope) that they can be reined in eventually!
LUCKY CODY on 19TH DECEMBER 2025 1:50 PM
That’s the big fear. And ultimately if the players have decided WN isn’t the man then there’s no point letting this last a game longer.
No matter what’s sang from the stands on Sunday, there’s no point criticising fans if the players have given up on him.
Good afternoon CQN.
Haven’t seen the photo.
If its source is the DR I have no intention of looking at it.
To the fan being stitched up – not a nice feeling but don’t take it personally.
The DR isn’t taking sides here.
Their stances (plural) are dictated by calculations of maximum clicks and revenues.
Was a time they sold 1 million copies a day
Long gone …. along with the Dodo
An Dun @ 3:40pm
So there’s clear evidence a small group of fans have given up on Wilfried.
Nothing equivocal about
“Nancy, Nancy, Get Tae F*#@”
Fair enough. Free country. Fact is out there
What evidence is there that the players have given up on their manager of 2 weeks?
And, out of curiosity, if …
(because “ifs” appear to be in)
… YOU were running Celtic ?
… and the players gave up on the manager YOU appointed just 2 weeks earlier?
what would YOUR response to the players be?
The Daily Record published a story claiming that Martin O’Neill was planning to quit Celtic to become manager of Liverpool.
Guess who won the libel case? 👍
“maybe he had some brie up his jook “😂😂😂
The knife picture was doing the rounds yesterday long before the Daily Record put it out.
Clearly many on here condone this kind of behaviour.
For me it highlights the same levels of pond life behaviour we see from Tommy Robinson and his ignorant henchmen egged on by Farage types.
Accepting this and finding excuses for it are a new low in a week of lows for Celtic ‘so called’ support.
It might not be fashionable on here but I want Celtic to win on Sunday. I really hope they do.
I also hope they go on to win the league and bestow another year of misery on those sad types on here who clearly only get pleasure from the club in turmoil.
Anyone seen at ideas of what the protesters plan for success looks like ? What exactly does sack the board best outcome look like for Celtic ? Any clubs outside of top 5 leagues we should aspire to model ourself on ?
I have hardly had a single answer to any of the questions which I have asked of those protesting for a month or two. Other than ‘that’s not my job’……
Kinda pathetic rebels with no cause…..or maybe no positive cause just to destroy something they purport to love.
When you make a Faustian Pact should you get upset when the Devil stabs you in the back?
Where is it stated that players have given up on anyone ?
Does any Celtic supporter really think telling the manager to gtf is good for Celtics chances of winning in any way shape or form ?
Does anyone really think singing sack the board immediately after we score will help the team win ?
I get the pathetic levels of bitter resentment some have on here but to extend it to wanting something you supposedly care about to lose seems another level tbh. Even for the most bitter who have loaned for nearly 20 years about everything the club has done.
Burnley, the ‘knife picture’ is a crock of stinky stuff. There’s no knife. Also, I see no one condoning that (knife wielding) type of behaviour.
Not sure which is worse changing to a more conventional system like a back four, or staying with a system that’s not working. What would either say for WN’s street cred if he has any left that is. Supporters have the same dilemma as the club, if stick or twist was the agenda yesterday, it’s likely to re-occur on the evidence so far.
Unless the team wins soon the scenario is, unprecedented potential for manager four, in the same season. ‘Credibility’ would go away above football manager, and compensation paid to Columbus Crew would be topped by compensation for Wilfried and his crew?
A shame, but not looking good for WN who was dealt a poor hand, already thrown back by the last permanent manager. An understatement if ever there was one, that three points home win is essential. A defeat as unthinkable, as continuing with the doubling down that haunts the damaged matchday experience.

From the Columbus Crew…..to The Wrecking Crew
One man’s journey……
Celtic Mac
I see what you did there, – and how it all affects the man on the Clapham Omnibus
or where he sits, on said bus.
The identity of the crew is also very much open to debate.
Yawn, yawn. Celtic fans want Celtic to lose…….
Prove it ya bore.
Odd that Bro Wilf’s Friday meeja conference isn’t out yet.
bournesouprecipe
Well we all know where you sit Bourne…..
You and your fellow travellers….
I agree with TBB , something doesn’t quite ring true about the ‘knife’ picture . What was the source of the image? Others are seen with arms outstretched pointing a finger at the board while one guy actually leans over a police officer with arm outstretched brandishing a knife which none of the police officers notice?
Hmmmmm as they say .
The seethe is a fine vintage, and I am savoring every note.
Denial’s shallow grave is behind us. Now, we stomp and thrash in the glorious, fertile mud of ANGER, hallucinating mirages of what we desperately wish were true.
But the clock ticks on. Soon will come the pathetic wheedling of Bargaining, followed by the hollow, grey drizzle of Melancholy. And then, at last, the quiet dust will settle on the final phase: Acceptance.
Pistolero is gone.
That door will remain forever, and conclusively, un-darkened.
Nae conference today I’m afraid ….
Can sort of understand 😱
Wilf’s meeja conf is reported on the BBC but hasn’t been loaded (yet) on the Celtic TV Youtube channel. It’s generally up by 4pm same day.

It’s been some jaunt since Paddy Turner’s debut 👍
