Playing at home against the side who last night finished 35th in the 36 team Conference League table is surely bound to give Celtic some respite from the recent avalanche of defeats. Aberdeen travelled home from Prague during the night after a 3-0 defeat to Sparta. A home draw against an Armenian side and a draw in Cyprus was enough to earn them a point more than bottom team Rapid Vienna.
Domestically, however, they are in fine form. Their last defeat was in October and came on the back of a long flight home from Athens, where they suffered a 6-0 drubbing. Since then, they have won five and drawn twice in the league, beating Hearts in the process. Four wins and a draw in their last five games puts them top of the form table, two points better than anyone else over that period.
On Sunday, I expect Aberdeen to redeploy their approach to this year’s Scottish Cup Final, when they sat in and waited on a Celtic mistake. Practically any result is possible, let’s hope a corner is turned.

If my ailing memory serves me well I recall The Collective telling us in an open letter how they would use the SMSM to bring their concerns to a wider audience.
Indeed, they were quick to congratulate themselves at a meeting in Graces on October 16: “ This was followed by a visual display at Firhill and then a series of in-stadium silences agreed for matches against Hibs, Braga and Motherwell. The first silence, at the Hibs match, attracted considerable press coverage and drew public attention to supporters’ frustrations, leading to a request from the club to meet with fan representatives”.
It’s a bit like “celebrities” happy to use the media to promote films, tours and books but scream “media intrusion” when they’ve nothing to promote.
As I said earlier, when you make a Faustian pact you shouldn’t complain when the Devil stabs you in the back.
On the manager….please accept it was the wrong choice during a season.
He’s a decent man and undoubtedly a good coach but this will never work.
Pay the man his contract ( we can afford to do the right thing) and appoint MON and Shaun to do the job til May then reassess.
MON n Shaun WILL win the league.
To say I’m disappointed with celtic fans on here actually believing a celtic supporter was brandishing a knife to the board while virtually leaning on a policeman’s shoulder is an understatement
There is no knife …plenty fingers pointing but not one cop seems remotely bothered.
Don’t you realise anything can be done to pictures nowadays? ..deary me ….sad
Did BSR die?
He’s CQN legend, no doubt, but I don’t remember him being a happy clapper 15 odd years ago when he wanted to meet up to thump me after we had an argument about the Board.
Rodgers was winning games last season but we didnt play attractive football
———–
i dont subscribe to that at all,
I wasn’t deeply hurt by it or anything. It always comes from the right place with him.
Celtic40me @ 8:21 pm,
Well, that’s something then…
Fifteen years ago…
Do you remember less than fifteen weekd ago and you were campaigning against Brendan Rodgers?
And I said be careful what you wish for…
I only had the best interests of Celtic FC at heart…
Hope you can clearly see and understand that now.
Hail Hail
Stebhoy @8.05,

What ive said all along. Wilfried was a next June appointment at best
Why should we be risking another 3 points then?Football self harming for dogma reasons. Even if Celtic win WN should be removed from his position, we need players in January none of the injured guys can be relied on and I would sell several starters at present. Tidsdale definitely cant be allowed to do more damage to Celtic.
CD …100pc
Never a mid season appointment.
Like Ange at NF.
MON Will win this league.
Hail Hail
First time I witnessed ” Fake News”,the kind that Trump spews out every day, used to be called blatant lies, was in 1983.I was managing the Haj Terminal,in Jeddah,S.A.The Had ended, and after the massive clean up,hundreds of ,then, computer stations were set up and manned,by young Saudi’s. Their job was to monitor the worlds press, anything negative in comments, debunked.Newspapers, magazines, anything that criticised the Regime, debunked.Trump like lies fed out across the world. They were on to the Times,Guardian,etc,16 hours a day,two shifts.Saudi General who was there told me it was a massive success.
Anyway, I’m going to remember my cousin by drinking beer and singing the rebs.
Up the Chuckies
Only a gutless, stupid, foolhardy shower, like our Board, would even contemplate a new Manager, with a major change to our football during the November to January period. When you compound that with the amount of injuries to key personel, who would be vital to the system working,it looks like madness.By all means, bring in Nancy, but, for God sake give the guy a bit of a fighting chance. His start date should have been,Jan 20th,time to bring in reinforcements, that he had ample time to source. How stupid do you really have to be,to watch MON pull back a 9 point lead, get us to a Final, then say,Bye,and put a new guy in with 2 days to meet the players, followed by 3 huge games in a week.
Utter bloody madness.

Agreed. Guy has been completely compromised before he starts. I don’t care how naive he might’ve been, I ‘m not having him demonised. This is not on him. Poor sod.

Wrong time wrong place, what might have been.
Hope Hertz absolutely batter the huns.
Celtic have for to long put moneyball before football. Ita all well developing and selling players but it should be part of the business not the whole business. The celtic collective have every right to show their displeasure agaisnt a failing board. There seems to be this need for celtic to always turn a profit. Few well run businesses do that, well run businesses limit profit in favour of development/ upgrade parts of thier business every few years to say relevant or grt ahead of the curve.

There is an alternative narrative that having been pursued by Celtic and offered the job, WN’s expectations… or even insistence…would be to take charge of the 3 big games in the one week.
I don’t think he doubts his own ability (although maybe he should) and he quite probably thought that Celtic playing against “SPL dross” would be a walk in the park.
In that scenario, it’s difficult to say “we think you’re the right guy Wilfried – but we’re not sure you can handle a big game – so we want you to wait until MON and Shaun have made it easy for you”.
Don’t get me wrong, I think this is a bad appointment and I would be inclined to bin him sooner rather than later – but the whole thing looks like a shitfest where the absolute worse case has panned out.
Meanwhile in other news,blatant cheating
Hardie says at the time he “isn’t sure what it hits” before Beaton says “he is “comfortable with the arm position. I can see his movement. It’s low enough down.
“I think that arm position is natural enough for me in the movement and if it does hit his arm, which it does, it’s not punishable.”
PLB @938….fekin right👊👊👊

so once again, blame the fans
get a grip
It’s the board who have made the pact. Hope it ends well…
PS Dont buy selection boxes this xmas. if you are in the comfy seats, you might receive free Mars bars at the Hun game
Willie Collum will be removed and Bobby Madden will be appointed.
1st thing that we see because PL has rettired.

Hi mate , was on the other channel, hope you’re good and looking forward to winning with Wilfried
on Sunday.
I think you’ve referred to our ‘internet handbags’ before, and truly hoped you’d have forgotten, either I was sparkled, or you were. I’ll say me, because I can’t remember and definitely don’t care what it was about. Your indefatigable support of Celtic on here truly humbles my early season ticket complete with Frank McGarvey’s face which I remember not surprisingly more clearly than my first game against would you believe – Third Lanark complete with curvy jungle roof.
Although I’ve grown to love you like a brother in Celtic, and especially during Brodgeball where we didn’t generally agree with a single word either of us post, but as Paul67 once said to me “ it’s like wee bhoys in the classroom fighting “ as the teacher walks in, and we are all just Sellick Supporters
Hail Hail
Enjoy the Match
P.s. if we were indeed to have met up consider it was at the train platform in Harry Potter.
The SFA are going to go to town on us because PL is away.
Willie Haughey is the ONLY choice as Chairman.
Ceitic40me – only the other week one of them asked me to “man up” and meet him for a fight.
Quickly thereafter one of his minions intimated he knew where I lived.
Amazing how they “can’t remember “.
Laxalt
Agree that would be a very wise appointment to chairman.
” . . . .. . worse case has panned out.”
Perhaps worse case, for some, is best case.
OldFirm.com
Moral arguments are the propaganda of the disingenuous.
As if by magic the minion appears.
I can only assume you were watching Leinster v Ulster.
Great game👍

Yes, I was that soldier.
Good shout from you, others spotted it as well. But older, wiser, greyer, richer, fatter, ( can you still say that? ) and I spotted an editorial downturn on CQN mid Brodgeball and my breeze, was no longer shooting so much on this fine platform.
The cash stash verse the same holes in the roof near my seat annoyed me more and more, I think I posted it in more detail.
You and a good few others have a good grasp of why we are where we are and funnily enough the penny dropped, that it was all about money. I think I preferred when we were skint.
I’m confident that I’ll be a happy clapper again I’ll try for Sunday.
Hail Hail
Enjoy the match ☘️
Willie is far too smart to get involved in this shitshow
