The future is Scott Bain’s, if he can grasp it

842

It’s just another story of a player sitting in the stands at Dundee before moving to the bench at Hibs and then a four year contract at Celtic.  All in less than four months.  Scott Bain is 26 years old and were it not for a personal issue with Neil McCann would still be at Dens Park.

Instead, he will see out his 20s as a Celtic goalkeeper.  He is 11 years younger than Dorus de Vries (37) and 9 younger than Craig Gordon (35).  He caught Brendan Rodgers eye and is now a development project for the manager.  The future is his, if he can grasp it.

Congratulations on your new contract, Scott.

Totally, defending just doesnt look like an art when its against your own team and you’re getting frustrated!

I like Clarke too, thought he’d do well there, though surprised at how well. Interesting to see if he can keep it going next season.

Well those folk who sit in that cave somewhere high in the Sierra Madre (according to ma pal Tony) have been at it it again. All day long they toil at coming up with wee videos reducing the seemingly serious to the faintly ridiculous, diverting and amusing…..this is the latest they’ve sent me on how our pals down Ibrox way began their reshuffle…..I call it “The Orifice meets The Office”.

    SFTB,, you bassa.

I tell you Im too busy to reply and you bold me,,seriously bad form. ;)

Plus I myself cant bold on this chromebook I got ( if anyone is on a chromebook and can bold then let me know please )

If I do deserve bolded then please do by all means.

I constantly examining my stance,,back on the blog a few months now and it really has made me think.

Will be with a CSC for the cup final for first time in years and really looking forward to it.

I really dont have time to bold your post so please forgive me if i pick its bones briefly.

Looking back I said that the board was part of the trinity,,you say its the management. I think we mean the same.,,,I think hierarchy might possibly be more apt. Basically those upstairs.

RE The team never letting us down,,,if money were spent in the right way maybe we would catch a lite club or two and possibly later stages of Europa league,,but I think thats it.

I cant see us doing another Seville ever tbh without changing leagues. I dont think Ive read on here another few players to make a dent in Europe,,I dont think we could dent Europe if we tried anymore. 200 million players what chance do you have.

The board do get lauded on here,,its happyclapper central.

ThomtheThim is chief cheerleader by the way ;) Corkcelt not far behind ( please return ).

Which board has been on the same page as me,,,,hmm.

Full time probably never but we do know of situations where previous boards stood up for us,,you mention the tricolour and theres one. He didnt need to,,its a flag,,but he stood up. Fergus stood up against the SFA also.

You could probably counter these with articles were they rolled over.

But I feel very distant from this board and I have been disgusted by some of their actions or lack of.

Also TBB and maybe others who addressed me today say Celtic are the victims in all this.

They might actually be the biggest victim of a huge swindle but they have also shown disregard for my fellow fans and when faced with a huge choice of money or morals they chose very wrong imo for a club thats never been as flush and with our history.

The biggest victims have been the fans and their board decides to stick the knife in with 49 quid to the very people who are pissed at being swindled.

No they dont stand up for me or my fellow fans. And CEO played football manager remember ? What happened ? A club with 3 to 4 times the size of its nearest challenger almost got caught. That was another joke.

Victims,,if anything we the fans are the victims . After all I paid thousands over those years and gave a lot of time and effort while they got paid more than I will ever see for their time.

And yet I sit here never more distant and despite the fact we have a common enemy and are a mired in a corrupt game we have not united and will not with decisions like 49 quid ,,kettling,,green brigade getting their doors kicked in. And Ajax,,,,eff me. Im gonna have to get that off my chest one day blog Im warning you.

So yes while the PLC and ourselves were victims they have since not tried to unite the family for a common cause but have allowed part of the family to be neglected while taking advantage of that same part of the family.

Many of us are from areas were Celtic are the dominant team,,that also is changing with the world wide web and tvs hyping the EPL and Messi etc.

That strategy also is dangerous,,that we have core areas that will always support us,,that support is being diluted.

The social charter of the club has failed as 130 years later Im still a fenian b*&^)%d .

So there are many many things that needs organising at the club. Important things.

The board might be victims but what have they actually lost ? Plus they have a lot to do and should be busy yet there seems a lot of back patting over the finances and getting BR.

On the glasgow derby days I usually read statements like best times ever etc.

I dont post on football days though, I leave the blog alone on those days lest I be thought of as trolling. And I certainly dont want to come on and put the club down on days were it has brought joy to many on here.

But that statement and similar are echoed on here frequently and I will try to point them out.

As for more than a club and a club like no other I see right through them,, they are pure marketing. Do you not see through it ?

They absolutely insist on the word “ club “ yet its the fans that are different as everyone points out so therefore it would make much more sense to mention fans or revolve your soundbites around them but they refuse as that would concede a lot of power to the fans.

    Wont mention the team either.

So the people who control the soundbites just happen to chose the soundbites that they take credit in ? Consistently ? Wont issue soundbites praising the other branches of the trinity why not ? I thought it was clear.

Hope you are well and leave me alone for a while ;)

I see some excellent posts today about renewing.

VFr says renew its what we do.

Nothing personal my good friend but they count on that you know. Thats habit.

I showed how its no longer about sporting competition anymore being a Celtic fan.

    Its habit and routine.

Right now I can tell you next season we will get pumped out of Europe and win the league.

THe only things we dont know about next season in the broader sense are whether we will win the cups and how will we play.

I myself dont wanna know whos gonna win on the day or overall and its genuine sporting competition I desire. That doesnt help my love of the team one bit.

I think the fans are in 2 groups those who go and those who dont.

I might be getting this wrong but those who attend tend to be happyclappers and those who dont tend to be mineshafters ( hate those terms ).

This to me is because by attending the experience is soo positive that positivity outweighs the negativity involved with the domestic game

So you walk away happy despite the corruption because of the games.

We ,,the rest ,,dont get that flood of positivity,,plus we are generally not there or we would go. You generally see things clearer from afar also hence the reason headquarters should never be on the front line in a battle .

And without that flood of positivity and when viewed from a distance with a cold hard eye Celtic doesnt actually look as pretty as I thought it did up close.

Cant guarantee a reply but Hail Hail all.

I rated Scott highly when he was at Dundee. Let’s face it,they’re not so well off for decent players that they can tell any of them to GTF.

What wee rat-face did to Scott was intended to wreck his career. Instead,it has deprived his employer of a quality player, and probably a seven figure transfer fee.

Firing offence,IMO. And justification for those of us who have had his opinions rammed down our ears via Sky,and thought-that wee expletive knows expletive all about football. Bitter wee expletive.

Tonight’s Friday Night football should be tasty with Dundee Utd travelling to Livingston trying to turn around their 2-3 loss from Monday night. Looking forward to seeing Tony Ralston having another good game as he may well be needed in our ‘problem right back area’.

True and I wish we had been drawn against Monaco (Pot 1 team), but PSG did not win many other league games so easily. I was just making the same point as others who said we could have perhaps played against PSG more like Kilmarnock against us.
