THE MAKING OF JAMES McCLEAN

1

IT’S that time of year when the British newspapers and the poppy fascists on Twitter indulge in their bully boy tactics towards an Irish footballer from Derry whose ‘crime’ is that he refuses to wear a poppy.

James McClean scored the all important goal for Martin O’Neill’s side against Wales in Cardiff that took the Irish into the World Cup play-offs.

Martin O’Neill’s Republic side now face Denmark in Copenhagen tomorrow with the second leg taking place on Tuesday at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The Irish site SportsJoe has made this video about McClean ahead of these matches. The Celtic supporting winger clearly doesn’t forget where he comes from. All Celtic supporters will wish him, Martin O’Neill and the rest of the Irish squad well in these two crucial matches.
