The more we win, the more we want to win

127

27 wins in 28 visits to Hampden since Brendan Rodgers first arrived at Celtic in 2016 is a record which has elevated the Scottish and League Cups to a level not previously known.  Earlier generations were used to seeing ‘provincial’ clubs picking up a cup on a regular basis; even Jock Stein’s Celtic made a feature of this with an unfortunate run of League Cup Final defeats.

Not now.  These days, the chance to win either of the Scottish domestic cups is cherished by all.  Ask around.  Your Newco fan pals cherish their 2022 Scottish Cup win over Hearts and last term’s League Cup Final defeat of Aberdeen.  St Johnstone will celebrate their two cups in a season for much of this century.

The more trebles you and I get to celebrate, the more we want to win.  Yesterday’s 5-0 victory over St Johnstone did not quite match our 6-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen earlier this season, but it challenged the rest of the pack to raise their game if they want a sniff of silver.

Who decided just not to bother with the 8-10 minutes or so of the added time, and why?

    ____

And the bottom line is – what did BR say about it?

Why does BR only mention mibbery incidents when one of the SPL Pub teams actually defeat us and makes BR look ordinary? Is it all about BR according to BR?

Does BR give a toss when the GB get banned by the EVERY MEDIA narrative swallowing PLC, or get ( kettled ) by the Salmond & Krankie trained anti Celtic officers of the law?

Neither BR, his Captain CM, or any Celtic players, or any of the GB “so called” 50,000+ Comrades uttered a word of complaint, never mind Solidarity with the GB when they were banned for supporting the victims of Genocide in Palestine, something which happened in Ireland and from which Celtic FC was born out of.

The ancestors of the Irish Genocide carried out by Britain, betrayed UTTERLY the memories of the victims, of the Irish Genocide, and covered up by so many Generations of “so called” good guys, The Church, The Schools, MP’s, Media, who all went along with the “Irish Famine” narrative which made Britain look not as bad as being called “The Genocider’s of the Irish People” which the eyes of honesty certainly know to be true.

But suckulent BR, his Captain CM, or any Celtic players, or any of the 50,000+ Comrades indide the Parkhead library, said heehaw about the GB being banned for supporting kindred Genocide victims in Palestine.

Banned by a bow for this, kneel for that, PLC, which led to BR team lose 7 points in quick succession in a Parkhead library which NONE of BR utterly amazing and hugely expensive players could get it together in the Parkhead library created by 50,000+ suckulent sheep who also said heehaw about their GB Comrades being banned by this sleekit as fk PLC, and the sleekit PLC quietly dropped the ban on the GB and BR team started to NOT drop anymore points, and not a word of thanks to the GB.

    A house divided cannot stand.

When BR mentioned “Southampton” during a post match interview yesterday, did he let the secret of his next destination slip out?

    Look at it this way.

The 49ers deal falls apart leading to Hun administration event and demoted from the SPL to the lower league.

If this happens – when will it happen? Before or after season ticket renewals?

Thing is can any realist see BR hanging about in a SPL were there will be no 4 Old Firm games?

Will Sky Sports cut the SPL funding making Celtic’s opposition even weaker than it is currently?

Will Celtic PLC pay BR £60,000 per week to manage in a SPL without the Huns in it?

Will Celtic fans be fleeced – AGAIN – by a PLC who’ll keep all of the above hidden whilst 60,000 suckulent lambs sell their souls to Tony Blair and the back door season tickets?

Why is Neil Lennon warming up at Dunfermline?

Will a 6 Way agreement be rolled out before, or after, the 6G Radiation Towers get rolled out to finish what they failed to finish during the C19 bs palaver?

What a time to be alive.

  3. REO and Calmac playing like this are a dream. With thanks to Engels for doing the less glamorous stuff.

  4. He could hear nothing but the drip, drip on the threadbare carpet. He opened the door and went out on the landing. The house was absolutely quiet. No one was about. For a few seconds he stood bending over the balustrade, and peering down into the black seething well of darkness. Then he took out the key and returned to the room, locking himself in as he did so

An awful lot of questions for BR.

Just back from the game – draw feels like a win especially with Bradford drawing.

Overall we played poorly and just couldn’t get a grip of the game until we scored.

Football doesn’t half put you through the wringer.

  10. What a terrible day to lose Pope Francis and Father Cavanagh on the same day

May they pass through the gates of heaven together hand in hand.

  11. Paul the Spark – ‘bile’ – I can’t make head nor tail of it !

    Nonsense word salad speak.

What is wrong with ‘I believe that BR should carry out the following action….’

    Everybody’s got an opinion..

  12. caught up on all the paper talk , courtesy of follow follow, so it does have its uses.

and after celtics wonderful win, the headline writers and columnists are back with several dozen moonbeams, to back up their position, that yes indeedy the takeover is still very much happening, well just as soon as they have aquired some stock, and done the legals and the regulatory stuff.

and, this is a good one, they have a plan on how to aquire 51% shareholding, but they only have to get 20% now, and the rest will be after a new share issue, for which the existing shareholders will be happy to dilute their percentages, , so 20% gets them a seat at the table, and properly aquiring a majority shareholding will require a new share issue. ignoring any regulatory need to make an offer FOR ALL THE EXISITING SHAREHOLINGS.

now, scratch the surface a little. if you aquire only 20% of existing shareholding, and that is money to purchase to current owners, well how can you invest in the company ?

those other pesky regualtions from UEFA around football revenues being spent on wages and transfers, you canot invest any money into that, you are capped with last years revenues.

next up, no one, not a person has said anything from a 49ers investment arm, the dafties say its because of Americans NDAs. Pish, it is actually because they are not involved at all.

So does Cavanagh have personal wealth of his own ? well yes, but not in the millions to buy 2nd Rangers.

Sure something is happening, but anyone with business acumen, would already have stopped the deal, i return over and over again, what is actually in it for a group of investors ? how do you make money , become profitable ? copy celtic plc ? sell players EVERYTIME they become worth more than you pay for them ?

I found the comments around could we be more like “Bilbao” in a signing policy, buy home grown talen, (go back to being parochial british they mean) quite interesting.

The flurry of patronising guff from Jack and Jackson, McGown and that other weirdo in the mail on sunday,

they all seriously do not know what they are talking about. not in business financials for sure.

Win nothing, dont catch celtic, actually perform worse in europe, can we interest you in an inflation busting price increase on your season books, thanks you very much.

Gerrard or Jose, thats the dream team.

An increase in stadium capacity, lets get the steel ordered now.

Jerseys that dont rip, new kit deal.

Btw, did you know they actually flew easyjet to bilbao, didnt even charter a plane.

13m euros in uefa prize money. Celtic got over 30 million.

People slag off Nicholson as the invisible man. He never speaks, but i bet he is never done counting up our successes in trophies and cash.

We should announce a share issue of our own, just for the shear fun of it.

  15. RIP Connaire ( Fr Charlie) always came across as a very decent human being with a genuine love of Celtic.

    that is a cracker post.

back when it was getting built i queried what would it take to make NEH profitable as an events venue, and if it would make a revenue difference to the parent company.

I could argue it was a boondoggle vanity project, with no great revenue generator beyond matchdays. I argued the same, that is why we havnt built anything at celtic park, because ROI (and profits) are hard to generate.

For the rangers, and events venue competing with the SECC and even the myriad of hotels in anderson, and even govan, well, a money pit it is.

    —————

Was the NEH report going to show that NEH is a money pit instead of a cash cow?

  18. i have agreed in principle with cala to buy a new home.

Well i mean i gave them a deposit, to keep it for me until the summer.

I just need to sell my own house, cash in my pension, take out a bridging loan for a wee whiles, get a lawyer, and tell my wife we are moving.

but aye, it is agreed in principle.

  19. R.I.P Father Charlie .

my goodness, that is a loss indeed. god bless him, he will be missed.

It will be a massive loss for the catholic community in the Greenock and East Ren area.

Last year along with BRTH and his good lady i was fortunate enough to attend the mass in Greenock that celebrated 60 years in the priesthood.

If any of you attended Lisbon in 2017 to celebrate

the 50th anniversary of Celtics triumph,it was Fr Charlie who said the mass at the Basilica.i was priveleged to be one of the readers alongside Malorbhoy

Connaire regaled cqn of being in the company of the team in 1967,being with trophy and team once they got back to the hotel.

Cqn has lost a good and humble man.🙏
