The most secure club in Europe

868

Ronny Deila has been talking about a treble since early in the season, far too early for my liking.  History suggests that trebles are notoriously difficult to win, even for dominant teams.  The league is usually won by the best team but it’s hard to win every game in two cup competitions, no matter how good you are.

Despite this, I’ll not bet against Ronny getting his wish.  He needs to win four games cup games, three of which would be at neutral Hampden, with only one game, the Scottish Cup quarter final, possibly being played away from home.

The cynic among you will, therefore, expect an away draw, possibly in some far-flung end of the country, like Inverness.  My money is on a trip to Easter Road.  I’ll be happy to avoid Tannadice, scene of our last defeat and a place they’re understandably feeling sort over the loss of Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.

People of Kirkcaldy: that whole 1994-Ibrox thing, forget about it, we’re OK.

Well done to Celtic for highlighting their position as the least likely football team to financially default, according the US rating agency, Standards & Poor’s.  Commercial and ticket income across Scottish football has fallen in recent years but that was only going to result in Armageddon if those in charge of clubs put an inflated sense of their own importance ahead of paying bills.

See the photo above sent by Mary’s Meals last week of the school kitchen we funded at CQ10.  Work is already underway to raise funds for a fourth CQN kitchen in Malawi after the CQN11 St Patrick’s Dinner, on Friday 13 March at the Kerrydale Suite.  Email me for ticket, celticquicknews@gmail.com

Please read JPT’s reply to me along with the posts from Prestonpans and Weeminger again.

Your blatant hatred of the SNP is clearly clouding your ability to view this in a balanced manner.

  2. Regarding the safe standing application of Celtic FC, Mr Hepburn continued:

“…my office is currently arranging a meeting with the club to discuss this further with Police Scotland. This will provide me with the opportunity to better understand the views of the club and consider how to support clubs and local authorities in deciding how the safety of fans can be protected in the future”

So is anyone in any doubt that it is Mr Hepburn and the Holyrood Executive that are ‘running the process’.

Of course final certification must come from the Council, but as we can see from the above announcement, it is Hepburn and Holyrood that are meddling and ‘muddying the water’

There is no need for Holyrood to be involved – it’s their centralisation agenda, like the police, like the fire service, like police guns…etc that is driving this.

Celtic have satisfied ALL aspects and had approval from experts in the field.

If your going to pick quotes so will I.

Responding to Mr Kennedy’s letter, Jamie Hepburn MSP said:

“The Scottish Government position remains that under the current arrangements it is for local authorities to ensure that stadia within their areas offer safe accommodation for supporters when granting Safety Certificates in accordance with the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.

I can therefore confirm that under the approval of any application for standing in a football ground lies with the relevant local authority.”

While Charles Kennedy expresses his concern at Jamie Hepburn being involved in our situation there’s nothing at all to suggest he’s blocking it. In fact it’s just as reasonable to assume he’s challenged GCC to get the finger out.

It’s worth remembering that he did not get involved until the GCC suggested he might have to, and had they approved it his quotes suggest he’d have had no issues at all.

So looking at it objectively brings it back round to GCC being the problem.

  10. Hamiltontim – you see how dangerous and misleading an incomplete knowledge of ALL the facts, can be?

    ———————————————————————————————————–

A complete re-writing of history – Holyrood ‘stopped’ the GCC approval – it was waiting to be ‘rubber-stamped’ after Celtic went back a second time with everything in order.

He wanted to ‘make a mark’ after assuming office in November 2014 – just “look at me I am a minister now’ tripe

  13. beatbhoy : Just rewatched that video. It wasn’t Aberdeen, it was Steau Bucharest (you can see where I got my moniker from).

    ——————————————————————

Now that’s what you call plagiarism !!

I have brought/bring/offer more as a life-long Celtic fan, than any of the SNP lackies who have used these pages for well over a year to punt their separation nonsense that would have bankrupted us and thrown a lot of good people on the scrapheap, with a tissue of lies, including the price of oil, in a ‘thick white document’ – you get it back and always will get it back from me…and you don’t like it !!!!

Thank God for the 2 million.

There will be no SNP landslide in May – the one million who dodged paying their poll tax and came out of the shadows to vote Yes – have gone back into the shadows to avoid paying the Council tax and other things.

We all hated the poll tax – however few of us got a ‘get out of jail free’ card, or a refund, from the scurrilous Salmond.

If we the majority had not paid our taxes, the non-payers would not enjoy their handouts.

The victim was actually Gheorghiu Rotariu of Steaua Bucharest.

Archie commentating, “Oh, that’s a booking!”.

    Understatement of that particular year!

To be fair, he did offer an “Oh, dear!” on viewing a replay of the assault.

Just catching up over lunch and seen you’d mentioned young Colleens superb album, which the wife is now sick of,due to my constant plays.

I can recommend Gretchen Peters ‘ Blackbirds’ as another cracker..She once let me buy her a Bud after her show in King Tuts some years back. A tough wee cookie she travelled the world with just a female roadie to cut down on hotel costs., and relied on mugs like me buying beer.
