The players, the manager and the board

503

Celtic controlled the first half at Easter Road without really troubling Hibernian.  That control shattered when Nir Bitton and, more culpably, Scott Brown, combined to concede an unnecessary foul then penalty.  The subsequent lack of urgency to follow Scott Bain’s save and daydreaming at the second Hibs goal was typical Celtic season 2020-21.

You were not surprised at the outcome.  Before the game I wrote a piece on Newco’s accounts (it is important and I will pick it up during the week) but I knew when I was writing it there was a more than decent chance we would have to address this matter instead.

The players have first responsibility to resolve matters, then the manager, then the board.  Doubtless there have been several iterations of attempted fixes, but none have been effective. It is not too late to rescue our season but it will be soon.

Paddypower has Strachan as second-favourite at 5/1.

Is this the “word from Ireland” we were hearing about? 🧐

No, this rumour came from the Horses mouth.

We are really clutching @ straws here, with the

names that are being suggested, are they really going

to make any difference, as far as success is concerned.

We need to make a clean break, & bring in a set up, which

will move our Club forward, not back the way.

That is why IMO, Dan’s The Man (Dan P) As I’ve mentioned

    in my previous post.

  2. A fiver for your thoughts on

Ok so maybe interim manager WGS probably best appointment

What do we want for next 10 years?

    Same as last 10?

    Big fish no real ambition?

    NFL not the problem

So how do we fix the problem?

  3. GO TELL THE SPARTIM

Agree that we don’t want Mackay anywhere near Celtic Park. Apart from his racist, misogynistic views, he was fired by both Wigan and Cardiff. Hardly inspirational.

  4. Eddie Howe, knows eff all about Celtic. How long would it take him to assess the squad, get his system going. We are not out of this race by a long way, thats why I would go for WGS until the end of the season.

Its also a very realistic target unlike some of the nonsense getting quoted.

    Petrescu?

I’ve liked him for a while and even posted after the Cluj game that I wondered what the score would’ve been if we’d had Petrescu in charge and they’d had Lennon.

If the next ten years were like the last ten and we were going for 20IAR that really would be something :)

To be fair, I get your point. On the whole, coaching and recruitment haven’t been good enough….got us by the SPFL but underachieved in Europe.

    Yip

20IAR ok for the current board and did die team in Europe

    Is that acceptable?

  8. GOTELL – them’s some bald facts indeed.

I know data doesn’t win us games but I find CBN’s detailed analysis – about all aspects of our game under NFL – v interesting. Are we as shoite as we think, or are we improving tho at a lesser rate than they are.

We need someone who can get us the 10, then oversee a big rebuild after we lose Brown, Christie, Edouard, MacGregor, Rogic, Ollie – that’d be a job for a younger dude like Howe..

BTW: embdy called for Owen Coyle yet ??

As mentioned & suggested by Hail Hail 67, Dan Petrescu is not a bad shout.

However, he does not hang around long @ Club’s, two or three years max.

He has not got a bad past record considering he won the CL when he was

    the Manager @ Chelsea.

As for last years, past European negative results against the Railway Men.

Forget it, as King Billy said in the past, Celtic Supporters do not live in the

past. We look @ the present & plan for the future.

I’ll leave that thought with you.

My mistake however they both played for Chelsea & Di Matteo was their Manager

back in 2012 when they won the Cl.

Suggestion, why don’t we go for Roberto Di Matteo as a Manager, after all he is

now a TV Pundit @ present, & I’m sure if we make him an offer, he would be

tempted to get back into Football Management.

& When you consider, Slippery G was a TV Pundit, before he took up the post @

Sevco, it makes sense to be adventures what do you think Bhoys?

  14. Gordon Strachan hasn’t managed a club team since 2010. And that didn’t end up well. ( Respect for ripping up his contract though)

What a backward step that would be and what sort of statement would that send out.

Imagine if the huns contemplated bringing back the cardigan. Can you imagine the derision on this site.

For God’s sake I hope our custodians show more initiative if and when required.

  15. I didn’t see the game and hardly followed it online yesterday. I had installed my outside lights and decorations on Friday only tae find that half of them wurnae working, so with the forecast being a little bit CCR “looks like we’re in for stormy weather”, I got up early doors and headed up tae the nearest Christmas decorations store.

I saw the first 15 minutes of our game but couldnae justify sitting indoors when my grandsons appeared tae help me clean up the yard waste, so only when popping in for washroom breaks, it’s an age thing, did I go back online tae see the score.

0-0 close in the first half and going by the comments it was only a matter of time for us. Then a couple of FFS and I knew we were getting beat so when we did pull one back it was more of a consolation goal as far as I was concerned.

Then when we equalised in time added on I leapt off the couch with a “ya effin beauty” retort as I saw this as not 3 points lost but a point gained.

Now I’ve been watching Celtic since possibly George Hunter was our goalie although to be honest I cannae remember him. I do recall sitting on the wee dyke in front of the Jungle watching the Wee Barra, the Juggler, Charles Patrick and the “Little Ant”, John Robert Peacock as they were my da’s favourites.

I’ve saw the good, the bad and the indifferent; there was never an ugly Celtic side, never. Oh there were lots of promises that never materialised but I have never seen a collapse like this one.

It’s not that sevco are a particularly good side IMHO they are bang average, but as we know nothing breeds success like success and the longer they keep winning the more confident they’ll become.

So in an effort tae determine what has gone wrong I started tae analyse past seasons when we have failed to live up to our promise, and unfortunately there have been many, but not a total collapse like we are witnessing right now, something is definitely amiss.

The nearest possibly was in the 2nd half of season 1975, we were top of the League when we visited the venom pit. We had also broken our club record and signed possibly the best midfielder in the country Ronnie Glavin, when disaster struck with their only 3 direct shots on goal we lost 0-3.

According to a wee navvy fae the Drum who I met several months later, ironically in the shadow of their old Albion training ground, as we worked on the M8 extension tae Glasgow Airport, who had been working on the renovations of their cooshed, they were watering the pitch all week even though the weather had been typical Scottish, rain mixed with downpours, showers and even a smir.

It was a dreich afternoon as the players kicked off, we were really up for it as even though we had lost the opening fixture against them, their first win at Parkheid in 7 years, big George had walked out the night before and Brogie was sent off by our old “friend” jp gordon who was suspended 4 year later by the scottish freemason association for improper behaviour.

He, along with assistants kyle and mccartney, admitted to receiving gifts from A.C. Milan prior to handling a UEFA Cup tie where the Italians won the home leg 3–0 after a 1-1 away result to advance tae the next round where their luck ran out when Man City gubbed them 5-1 over the two legs.

Denis Connaghan, who earlier that year had a cracker in the 2nd leg against AM, minus the argy thugs who were sacrificed in the dreadful 0-0 tie at Parkheid, he also played in the 1974 SC final beating nae green penguins andy gray, naesurname and poxie knoxy 3-0 and was in the team that clinched the honest NIAR at Brockville, was in goal that day and let a soft goal in.

Unfortunately for us although we didnae know it at the time Denis’s tea was oot and Ally came back in.

As I said we were back at the top of the League and other than that loss tae deidco had only dropped points in 2 other tied games.

We had also won the Dryborough Cup beating the huns on penalties with the wee mhan running fae practically the hauf way line tae notch the winner although if the truth be told Denis was the star that day saving parlane and mcleans efforts, this was after the buzz bomb missed our opener.

In back to back games we had gubbed the hibbees who were only 2 points behind us and would finish 2nd that season 5-0 with, who else, Dixie grabbing a hatrick.

The following week at hunden it was the Dixie show again with another hat trick although the warning bells should have been ringing when “harpers a barrel” also scored 3.

Our goalie Ally, who was the first Celtic goalie tae play at Wembley since the faither, had lost confidence after conceding a poor goal in a WC game at the same stadium against the Czechs. But with Jock having less faith in Denis or big Evan he stuck by him.

Talking to a player a few years later who told me that as dreich as it was Ally left the park with his shorts as white as when he went on, bet you the ugly side of fitba kennedy in the opposite goal couldnae say that as the shots fae Paul Wilson’s crosses hit his erse, legs and heid.

However, that wasn’t the game that done us in, it was the following week at home tae Motherwell, we were 2nd in the League but still on the same points as them, just a slightly inferior GD.

After going 1-2 down at the half, which included a typical jp gordon disallowed goal, we roared back tae tie it up before losing another soft goal. Heading back down tae the Bonnie Banks that night it felt ominous that we were in soapy bubble; our once rigid defense couldnae keep weans oot a close now it seemed.

Jock tried everything tae get us back on track including friendlies where we still managed tae ship goals, 4 over in Donegal, 2 at Methil, 2 more at Somerset Park in Peter Latchford’s club debut, even 5 at Kilbowie where we managed tae score 6, and yet we would go tae Easter Road and Boagheid, with 3 ex Celts and a future one who managed tae score the Sons equaliser in their side.

That was the game where big Cush saved a young Kenny fae being sent aff for retaliation after Wispy wound him up, as well as gubbin a high flying Bankie side with young Graeme Barclay in goal in the SC.

And yet as anticlimactic as the season was we still ended up with 3 cups, why a combination of poor form and an aging side, big Billy would retire at the end of it and IMHO was a couple of years too late, and the wee mhan, who hardly kicked a ball that season, would be freed along with Brogie.

We planned for the future in the GC Final with big Rod the Plod at centre half also signing big Shuggie but not before the Big Mhan almost lost his life in an MVA so another Celtic legend took over.

Early on in the season Stevie Murray retired and big George went AWOL once again. However given the loss of major personnel Sean’s record wisnae that bad, runners up in the League with less ties than deidco, more goals scored but a horrendous goals against record which possibly led tae more losses than them.

We were also losing finalists in the LC but it was possibly an early exit fae the SC tae the steelmen away when after being 2 up at the half our defense collapsed in the 2nd that potentially led tae Sean’s reassignment tae the Chief Scout role at the end of the season.

Rumour had it that Jock wanted Paddy Crerand as his assistant but when that fell through the much vaunted Davie McParland moved over fae Firhill tae take the role.

Having lost the GC Final at Parkheid due tae horrendous defensive mistakes Jock went out and signed Pat Stanton but it cost us Jackie McNamara Sr although there may have been non football reasons to why he was allowed tae leave.

A couple of weeks later Joe Craig was brought in tae replace the wonderful but aging Dixie, one of the most sung about players in my lifetime, as Jock set out tae rebuild his side.

Jock’s purge of his older players continued around Christmas time when his alleged mole in the dressing room Tid left for the Bankies.

I came home for the festive season and was in the Jungle on Boxing Day when we tied 2-2 with a high flying sheep side.

Jock sprung a surprise by playing a young curret heided midfielder called Tommy Burns at left back, he actually replaced a former left winger who was down with the flu in that position, what was Jock thinking of.

As I walked back down the Gallowgate that Sunday evening I said tae my Carolina, we were one player short of being a very good side, and that one player arrived in a sensational transfer, “he used tae be a hun but he’s alright now”.

With Alfie in the hoops we won the double, early on with both Pat and Joe cup tied we were losing finalists aet in the LC so it wisnae too bad a season.

The following season which augured well got off tae a disastrous start, Kenny refused tae go on a Far East tour so Jock threw the toys out the pram and called his old pal Bob Paisley and the King was off, Pat Stanton suffered a career ending injury, Danny a season long one and Alfie missed most of the season.

We did sign Roy Kay, Alan Sneddon, John Dowie, Tom McAdam, an aging but injury prone Frank Munro and swapped the talented but unfortunate Brian McLaughlin for Joe Filippi. No offense tae any of them but only big Tom would be a success and that was after Billy converted him tae centre half.

Later on we would sign a young Mike Conroy straight fae the Juniors and with only 3 reserve games under his belt he would make his debut in another 1-4 gubbin at Easter Road.

All in all a very poor season, we finished 5th in the League 19 points and 28 GD behind deidco missing out in Europe for the first time in 16 seasons, we were embarrassingly knocked of the SC in a replay at Rugby Park, the first time in 31 years we had lost tae a lower division side.

We went out of the Big Cup in the 3rd round tae Innsbruck gubbed 0-3 in a game played at a neutral stadium where big Peter saved us from the proverbial cricket score.

We did get tae extra time against deidco in the LC only tae lose a controversial goal with 2 minutes left when big Peter dropped a cross but was clearly impeded from retrieving it resulting in the winner.

This was the game where Jock allegedly said tae mitb slyme “Your faither would have been proud of you” I don’t know why I said allegedly as he was fined 200 quid by the scottish freemason association for the remark.

As the horrendous season drew tae a close Jock offered to drop down to the Reserves but this was rejected, he himself recommended that big Billy be approached to take over as manager while he was offered an executive directorship effectively moving upstairs.

The greatest manager in my lifetime’s, who we often referred tae as the latter day Christ, shelf life was over and he knew it. His sidekick the legendary Iron Mhan Sean was also terminated as was Davie McParland, a new broom swept through the club.

We are at another cross-roads now, however this time it’s different and is it one of our own making. Daft as it may seem are we willing tae save sevco by losing the ten.

Make no mistake a cost benefit analysis has probably been taken on their demise, we would be remiss if we hadn’t.

Cast your mind back you that are old enough tae remember, the “acting” President of the scottish freemason association, “his name is big Geordie he’s loyal and true” a self confessed bitter orangeman and worthy grand master and Chairman of the kid on Irish club fae Leith who wanted the removal of the brick harp at the entrance to Easter Road, change their name tae Edinburgh City and their colours tae purple, 2nd highest colour in the lol, the drum hun miller would years later change the away strip and training gear tae that colour, campaigned for the removal of the Tricolour above the Jungle.

This was Sir Bob’s finest hour when under so much pressure stated he would rather put the club out of the game than give in to this racism. The flag had been a gift from the first Taioseach of Ireland and it would be disrespectful to remove it.

Ironically the first club to come to our defence was deidco, there has always been a close relationship at board level and we actually loaned them money in the past where we were given shares in return for this gesture, I believe the Bunnet eventually sold them.

The first group tae meet the team on deplaning at the old Abbotsinch Airport on Friday May 26 was oul john lawrence and his board.

At the first game after he received his knighthood in the New Years honours list at hades it was the same lawrence who raised a toast tae Bob.

The animosity we see right now is only when the rugby supporting scrap metal dealer arrived on the scene and IMHO it was only tae get rid of us tae pave the way for the huns tae win the Big Cup and make him more money.

As I have said repeatedly Peter Lawwell is an employee who reports to the Board which includes Ian Bankier, Chris McKay, Tom Allison (who head hunted him) and Dermot Desmond.

If and when changes are made it will be that group of gentlemen who will make them, as for big Gas Meter, my moneys is on him heading tae Zurich and ripping a new erse in that third knuckle rubbing cabal over there.

Yeah, big change’s can only come from supporter’s.

So there’s no chance of forensic change, just more sticking plaster appointment’s, from carefully ‘planted’ placemen, ie Malky McKay. Remember when Brendan Rodgers came rushing out of the trap’s to gush over the appointment of McKay, all of this at a time when Celtic supporter’s thought that the sun shone out of Rodgers backside.

I hope I’m wrong, but the huns stopping 10 in a row, might be the brutal medicine that’s needed, to make 53,000 supporter’s grow a pair and lance the corporate boil of poisoned puss, from their seemingly, untouchable ivory tower’s in the PLC board.

Yeah Paul Kersey, unfortunately for us, it’s looking that way @ present, hopefully we are wrong, but

@ present, the state of affairs @ our Club, is not looking good.

Time will tell, that’s for sure.

  19. From a man known on Twitter as JucoJames comes this thread that I’ve cut & paste together to give the whole thing in one piece. He is not to everyone’s taste but he backs up much of what he says normally with analysis of match data.

For me, he makes the very valid point that appointing anyone soon to try & salvage something from this season is not the same as appointing someone for the longer term.

My only comment on all of that is one that I made after the Sevco defeat. Changing mangers or coaches is not enough. A complete overhaul of every aspect of footballing side of Celtic is required including what priority the PLC board place on that critical function within the Celtic organisation. We are dysfunctional & as far as I can tell, have been so for many years. The demise of Oldco gave us some breathing space but we haven’t restructured & taken the opportunity gifted to us to join the modern football world while or principal foe was neutralised.

You might not like Juco’s suggestions but he seems to better understand the dilemma we find ourselves in, better than many imho.

JucoJames comments & no he doesn’t know I’ve done this from his tweets.

“Time for the good, the bad, & the ugly from yesterday’s Celtic vs Hibs game. Wyscout had the npxG at 1.23 vs 1.11 on 20 vs 10 non-penalty shots. 14 of those 20 shots for Celtic had pre-shot xG of below 0.10, while 8 were outside the box. Hibs had 9 of 10 shots from inside the box.

However, I think the npxG differential only tells part of the story, as Laxalt’s goal didn’t come from open play and there easily could have been a penalty awarded fo Hibs for an Ajer “hand ball.” All things considered, I think Celtic were fortunate to get a point.

Only 1 good and by default my MOTM goes to Ajer. He won 8 of 12 duels overall, 3 of 4 defensive duels, had 15 interceptions and made 7 clearances. His ball progression was also good again, with 2 out of 2 successful dribbles, 4 progressive runs and 14 progressive passes.

Bad goes to the Groundhog’s Day nature of the performance. Celtic won just 44% of duels overall, and just 31% of aerial duels, specifically. The lack of athleticism in midfield remains a glaring problem. I highlighted during the week why I thought it was past time Elhamed replaced Frimpong at RB, and yesterday was another example. Frimpong is an exciting young talent, but his defensive limitations are now as glaring as our problems in midfield. In addition, our “attacking” fullbacks combined for 0 xA, 0 key passes, and were accurate on 2 of 7 crosses.

Laxalt deserves credit for being at the right place/right time and finishing his chance on the goal, but not much else going forward.

Ugly goes to the state of our support, so I am going to offer a vision. You may not agree with what I am about to lay out, but then most have disagreed with the majority of my analysis and opinions all season.

The league is not over. Few have been as concerned over the challenge presented by Rangers, but they are not invincible, and the rest of the league remains dreadful. It isn’t too late for us.

But the club faces a perilous inflection point, which is where my assessment is sure to be rejected by many, and perhaps most. The notion that the club can replace Lennon now with a suitable candidate that meets both the near term challenge AND make sense for the badly needed long term restructuring, is highly unlikely. Managers of the skill necessary to meet the challenge of this season are likely to seek unipolar powers that conflict with modernizing the structure of the club. Bringing in an “outsider” at this stage also introduces other risks related to transition. Throwing a lot of money at a name who is likely to delay badly needed modernization would be a big long term mistake, IMO.

My preference relies upon some assumptions that are unknowable as an outsider. Some are

“reading tea leaves” while others no idea.

But assuming that he is liked and respected by the players, I believe Kennedy is, and remains, the best option. Obviously, those are big “if’s” but would think that is something our CEO could figure out if accurate.

This next part is reading tea leaves, but I have commented on starting this time last season. I think Lennon/Kennedy was an arranged “marriage” with them not being on the same page in many ways. All reports I have read/heard is that Kennedy is analytics-literate and relatively progressive thinker. The talent in our team does not require a massive reconstruction- it just needs to remove the decision making and cultural “tumor.” We don’t need the greatest tactical mind – not getting that person anyway without sacrificing long term, as already mentioned. We need courage and competency.

Courage to drop Brown- period. Other than spot appearances in games where we are well ahead, he should not be playing. If he doesn’t like that? Tough – either try to preserve your legacy or join Lennon and possibly PL in adding lighter fluid having already light it on fire.

Competency – we have a lot of really good players and could be playing all sorts of different shapes if selection was simply competent. Play athletic midfielders to help rebuild confidence in our defending. Despite being wide open attacking to try and claw back from 2-0 down, after Brown was taken off we surrendered just 1 chance of any quality, which was Mackie’s flail off McGinn’s blocked shot. Despite lacking in creativity and attack, I will remind you again that the midfield w/o Brown vs St Johnstone yielded exactly zero chances.

A back 4 of Elhamed/Jullien/Ajer/Laxalt with some blend of Christie/McGregor/Rogic/Ntcham ahead of them, requires basic competence- not genius. Want to go 4-4-2, or 3-4-1-2, or 4-3-3? All good brother – just put our best players in logical positions. The damage done so far means that even if everything goes well, Celtic still may lose 10iar. Rangers are very good and could get better still. But damn it, let’s make it a real fucking fight and get carried out on a board having done everything we can. Let’s make ourselves hard to beat, play to the immense talents and strengths of our players, and adopt a take-no-prisoners attitude. No mercy to our competition, but that has to start “at home.” No mercy for complacency, dinosaur ideas, or mediocrity. As they say, it is darkest before the dawn.

If Brown is the leader most seem to think he is, he should embrace a club captain role. I can see him hoisting the 10iar trophy and his ascension to true legendary status. We just need courage and competency, and that has to start this week coming from our board and CEO.

I write my stuff for a small audience- no offense but if I cared what the average supporter thought analytically, I would never have started this. I know Kennedy would be a horribly unpopular choice- doesn’t mean it is the wrong one. Strachan or MON are tactical dinosaurs.”

None of what I write diminishes my high regard for Neil Lennon the club servant or Neil Lennon the man.

It’s depressing feeling that I have to say this, such can be the vitriol thrown at some because their views clash with those of others. All of us want the same thing – which is to see a successful winning Celtic team dominate in Scotland then becoming a force in European football again. Our paths may diverge but the same destination is where we all want to end up.

  20. Jesus Christ! I can’t believe the clamour amongst Celtic “supporters” to have the manager sacked. Like that’s really going to improve stability. At the end of the day these players were performing so much better at the beginning of this year, and they need to take a serious look at themselves, for it is they who are letting down the real supporters.

Alas nobody has actually taken the time to consider how much of a mess the team are in this season, compared to last season when they clinched the title with a 13 point lead.

As it happens, Rangers are 3 points better off than at the same stage last season, and Celtic are 4 points worse off. So, had Celtic beaten Rangers at home, Celtic would be just one point worse than last season and Rangers would be on exactly the same points. So for the sake of just ONE result and a single other point, there is a frenzied mob calling for our manager to be sacked.

    It makes absolutely no sense!

  21. Big Chips,

Lennon is stinking the place having effectively chucked running the team. Should have been replaced 2 weeks ago.

The support are demanding he goes—- every day Lawwell procrastinates the blame shifts to him.

The sooner Lennon is sacked the more relived he will be.

    Just seen this.

Doesn’t surprise me that yr friend refers to Neil in reverential terms – he is amazing in his honesty and desire to help others.

On yr 2nd point, I want to believe that the Club are helping him in every way.

But, sorry, I’m lost on yr 3rd point. I’m not attributing Neil’s behaviour to whatever mental health he has, I’m just asking people to accept that his mental health MAY be a factor.

I genuinely hope that, if Neil has requested help at our Club, he will have received it. But what if he needs help and hasn’t asked? Who would see it and connect? I don’t know. As for judging him as if he has no mental health issues – you have lost me. But I’m open to clarification.

  23. 2020: Celtic have lost once in 23 League games and are 3 points worse off than they were after 23 games of the 9iar season.

    Sack the manager!

Thanks for all the “support” just when some support is what is actually needed.

If Rangers draw just one game then Celtic win the next game against them, Celtic will effectively be level pegging at the top of the league taking into account games in hand (which will be won). Clearly Celtic are only ever one defeat away from a crisis!

  24. The board suck.

The manager jumped into bed with the board, after the grubby shower interview.

Supporter’s are worried about the huns.

The same supporter’s who fully subscribed to season ticket’s, AFTER the board had set the ticket prices to TREAT Sevco/Rangers as the same club!

Now supporter’s are worried about the Sevco-RFC circus, that these same supporter’s laughed at in 2016, whilst Brendan was used to gull you all.

Now you’ll pay for letting the board off, with their abysmal ‘same club’ response. Or, non response.

The Celtic support, post 1994, are about to be stuffed, for not sacking the PLC board, after their meek acceptance of the LNS whitewash, and a litany of other white washes that have followed.

    In conclusion.

    The board aren’t coward’s, they’re deceiver’s.

The manager came back after signing a confidentiality clause contract, which has rendered him as a, complicit puppet.

The team have supplied a trophy haul against, guff opposition, in a one horse league.

The supporter’s have been neutered since all seated stadium’s came into effect, leaving them open to, hostile abuse, from their establishment enemies, which includes the Celtic PLC board, who must’ve been looking on disbelievingly, as Celtic supporter’s didn’t lift a single finger to challenge David Murray’s corruption, after the endless stream’s of evidence being made available, which proved that we were cheated out of 20+ trophies. The fact that Celtic supporter’s accepted that, their PLC board’s inaction to the corruption, by continually selling out season ticket’s, is a scandal in it’s self.

We need a new executive team, without a, fat, rich, permanently tanned, CEO.

We need a overhaul of the football dept, despite the trophy haul.

We need new supporter’s, the present day supporter’s are, smug, lazy, cowardly, green huns, the magnificent, Green Brigade being the exception, to the 53,000 library bore’s.

A couple of big “ifs” there.

What if we drop points in one or more of our games in hand (your claim they WILL be won seems slightly presumptuous) and then we lose the game against them?

The league title will effectively be over by New Year.

Now I admit I’m using “ifs” too but on current form, my ifs are not only just as likely, but I’d say more likely.

Throw in a couple of European humiliations and an exasperated manager saying time and time again that players are lazy and not listening to him, you can see why the head has to rule the heart and a change needs to be considered.

  26. PAUL KERSEY on 23RD NOVEMBER 2020 7:48 AM

Who the f@ck are you to call Celtic ST holders Green huns.

What makes you such an uber fan. ?

  27. Will there be news today. Who knows ?

Well done to Paul John Dykes from a Celtic state of mind , who did back Neil to continue as boss , but changed his mind a few weeks ago

    Paul67 take note

We just need a coach who with experienced back up can play a settled team with 2 up front ( griffs and Eddie )

Talk of WGS No thanks. 2 away wins after Xmas in his last season and treating every away game like the san Siro and 5 in midfield No thanks.

Not what we need at present

I remember the 08/09 season. Going for 4 in a row and Gordon changing his team for away games and blowing it

The 4 in a row police in here telling us mineshafters that all would be right Oops

Cost us aboot 80M in following few years

And here we again But will we make the decision this time or will we once again sit in our arses and wait it out

    ……………..

I understand any Celtic supporter who is very unhappy at this time and obviously in recent Months, I am also very unhappy at some of the performances this season and at some of the poor results. I do NOT have a problem with anyone wanting Neil Lennon to walk away or be Sacked…although either one of those scenarios occurred it would be a very Sad Day ?

However you are just yet another Feckin CHUMP who claims that Neil Lennon is a ” Puppet” ?

Along with some other Chumps on here, you are completely Dis Respecting Neil Lennon….and ALL that he has endured On and Off the pitch, since he walked into Celtic Park around 20 years ago.

Your not only a Chump…but a Feckin Chump Bitch…just like some others who have went out of their way to disrespect a Man like Neil Lennon.

just go beck onto FF…They still love you there.

    CHUMP !
