CELTIC’S away support celebrated in style at Pittodrie on Wednesday night as the Bhoys dismantled Aberdeen comprehensively and ended their unbeaten league run. They were also rather chuffed with themselves before the game, which was the first match since the Celtic support was named as FIFA’s Best Fans in the World after a global vote.

Now tomorrow 60,000 Celtic fans at Paradise will have the chance to get their hands on the trophy that was not won by Brendan, Broony and the Bhoys on the park but by you and I, the Celtic support.

So the stage is set, quite literally, for as many supporters as possible to get the chance to hold aloft the trophy on the Celtic Way ahead of the game against Kilmarnock. Having been officially voted as #thebest fans in the world at the 2017 FIFA Football Awards, Celtic have today been building a stage for supporters to have a photo opportunity with the trophy in the hours leading up to the 3pm kick-off.

Celtic’s SLO John Paul Taylor is one proud Bhoy as he shows off our trophy!

“The glittering prize was collected at the London Palladium this week in recognition of Celtic supporters incredible backing, showcased in the stunning tribute to the Lisbon Lions ahead of the Hoops’ unforgettable final league match of last season against Heart,” a Celtic spokesperson said.

“To honour you – the fans – we would like to give as many of you as possible the chance to have your photo taken with #thebest FIFA 2017 Fan Award on a specially built stage which will be situated at the front of the stadium ahead of Saturday’s match.

“The trophy will be available for photos from 12noon until 2:45pm, but please bear in mind that there is only one trophy so please arrive early to make the most of this opportunity.

“Don’t worry if you miss your chance before kick-off, as the trophy and podium will be available again after the game until 6pm.
Thank you for being the best fans in the world!”

The Green Brigade, who deserve enormous credit for collecting the cash and organizing the hugely impressive display that won us the award, are also holding their annual food bank collection tomorrow so please participate in that and give as generously as possible for what is a brilliant cause.
