The stock of corporate knowledge

349

We are all looking forward to big changes in the football department.  Players, manager, coaches and scouts will arrive at Lennoxtown in the coming months with the specific aim of improving the performance of the football department.

Such change brings risks, but just to the culture of the club, which is up for renewal every week and saw plenty of change in the autumn, but to the stock of corporate knowledge.  One of the failings of John Barnes short-lived experience was his failure to understand the risks when visiting places like Tannadice.  Some travel north thinking it will be all too easy, remember Joey Barton, who was nutmegged at Ibrox during a defeat to Hamilton Accies.

If today’s story on John Kennedy being promoted to work with Eddie Howe is true, he will add a couple of decade’s experience of how Scottish football works to the new management team.  I also hear Eddie was impressed by John.  Of course, sticking it to them on Sunday will not do any harm.

I wouldn’t regard Tony Blair as a socialist.

I’ve no idea how much money he has.

    What’s your point?

Any suggestions on how we should say goodbye to Broonie – surely the biggest cult hero of the last ten years?

    Vote for him?

    Donate money to him?

Rely on him to provide a govern the country?

    Don’t think so.

Because he’s a footballer, playing for a football club, not a politician representing a political party.

And you’d have to be pretty dim to think they are the same thing.

  4. I’m not surprised posters abandon this site – insults flying all over the place. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was football related.

Great article on Sentinel Celts by a regular poster on the site.

    Well worth a read.

    Lots of football chat too!

It does seem to clear up what happened. I’m not sure why anyone would find that boring, though I can understand why some would prefer confusion and doubt to clarity.

Ex leader of the Labour Party.

    Ex Labour Prime Minister.

You’ve no idea how much money he has?

I’m surprised – given how much you know about everything else.

    Well, you’ve made the point.

Leader of the Labour Party doesn’t have to be a socialist.

  9. John McGinn?

I’d like to also to hear the Celtic side of the story…….all stories have two sides and, wasn’t it Steve Bruce that ‘pinched’ him over dinner?

  10. Alasdair MacLean on

Very sorry for lowering the tone here today.

    Got to go.

Although I don’t post much these days, I do look in quite often.

    Cheers for now,

  12. Now here’s a surprise!!!

Football Insider have revealed that Bobby Jenks and Neil Lennon played a key role in convincing Aston Villa to sign John McGinn in 2018.

However, it is believed that Bruce had not seen McGinn play in the flesh before he joined the Villans, and the club actually have Jenks and Lennon to thank for getting the deal across the line.

  13. Ernest – does that big heavy thing, I think you called it a book, have a definition of stereotype in it? I have some very jolly Presbyterian friends.

Only joking! On a more serious point, regarding your desire to use stereotypes, why do you keep typecasting anyone who makes a point that you don’t like as stupid, or dim?

As a peace offering, name your Celtic cult hero and I will send you a copy of David Potters book for free – please don’t think that is just me being stupid again.

I have no great regard for Blair.

Having said that, Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness seemed to get on well with him and had some respect for him.

    Complicated, isn’t it?

  16. During Tony Blair’s time in office I was travelling a lot on business. He was universally respected in Europe & the US. I was proud to acknowledge him as “my Prime Minister” – I never felt that way before his time, nor, indeed since.

Yes she’s going to write to the SNP demanding that in the event of them having a super majority, or even just an ordinary majority, after they election they immediately reintroduce their Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012.

I reckon it could happen too, it’s not like they don’t all still think it was a good thing.

I said I would want to cease the politicking today so I will confine myself to saying- Would you fight and risk dying to avoid becoming a “subject” of Mao, Stalin, Kim-il-Jung or Pol Pot? How many died under their rule?

No-one should want to promote deaths but everyone faces that choice of what is worth dying for- should we have laid down to Franco and Adolf? Totalitarian right and Totalitarian so-called Left don’t differ much. Somebody tells you that you do not need to be consulted on how your life runs.
