The trouble football people have with contracts

941

You have to wonder about football people sometimes when they appear to not know the difference between a contract and something which is not a contract.  A contract is a signed document committing one or more parties to do something.  For example, Lassad Noiuoiu and Celtic signed a contract committing the player to perform the duties of a footballer and committing Celtic to provide pay and conditions.

Employers can also contractually agree to pay employees money for fulfilling their job, over and above their Contract of Employment, by simply writing the terms down, signing the document and handing it over to the employee.  For a football player, this type of additional contract would need to be registered with the relevant Football Association and tax would be due on it, or else the Karma Police will come round and leave you in tears.

Speaking about his attempts to sign Noiuoiu, Levante’s president said, “During 30 hours of negotiations we closed the transfer with faxes and documents between the two parties”.

“Two parties”, “faxes and documents”?  Let’s be specific, the two parties would need to be Levante and Lassad Noiuoiu and the documents would need to be a Contract of Employment, otherwise it appears that Levante have been the victim of an agent trying to make a deal happen when he was not in control of events.

It will be a bitter pill to swallow for Levante, who appear to have acted with good faith throughout, but as Celtic fans have long known, a new signing is not a new signing until he is running around a football field.

Tommy Burns guided Aiden very well and James Forrest will follow Aiden and stay and develop well at Celtic. If Celtic are getting to the last 8 regular James will stay with our team, he is very good but not a first name player at Man U/C, Chelsea, Real etc

If we are becoming a force again, Aiden will rejoin on a free transfer. ;)

  2. What’s going through everybody’s minds now is a dalek in a rankers top going, “*Ex*ter*min*ate*”.

    Their stupidity is infinite.

  3. I can honestly say I have never seen or heard the term “Daleks” used to describe Rangers fans in any context.

Sounds like something entirely invented by the very people who are feigning shock and hurt, which says it all really.

The crazy huns have finally gone completely, totally and dangerously psychopathically insane now. Looks like they’re trying to raise a lynch mob for Alex Thomson. I could hardly believe this when I followed the link from TSFM

    ……………………………………………………………………………..

I’m amazed that you’re surprised at this, don’t you look into their forums? They’ve been issuing all kinds of threats, including death to AT since he started telling the truth about them.

I know many of us find it repulsive to consider visiting their sites and seeing the “stuff” they post, but if you dont know your enemy how can you know how to deal with their attack?

I’m a regular on deidcomedia, unfortunately I’m not allowed ot post any more:-(

Hail Hail Bruv, they are sick.

is it irony, that they twist everything they can link to the disaster, yet ignore their own boards complete lack of sympathy and total culpability. Had it happened today their board would facing charges. The hypocracy is shaded only by the stupidity.

Neil Canamalar, I just want the young man to stay injury free and show us how good we know he is, and show others how much better he can become.

    Hopefully against Benfica……………………………..for starters.

  7. I fear if I went onto a ranker blog (well….i just did. wtf!!). Well, I got what I deserved. A look into the blackest kind of soul. Here’s where I get all pseudo-intellekshul :

    A Ceiler…..,

we all want that, but good players get clobbered, its a fact of life, in scotland its called evening the odds. Great players learn to deal with it and use it.

  9. Where the **** did the Huns come up with this “Daleks” bullshoite?

Desperate, desperate times for the Sevconians when they’re reduced to creating lies off the back of the Ibrox disaster.

In all my 40 odd years I have never once heard of this term “Daleks” used to describe the victims of that terrible event. In fact I’ve never ever heard a derogatory song or chant about it from the Celtic support.

What worries me about the escalation of lies and smoke and mirrors coming out of these Hun sites is the fact that the vast majority of them swallow it. Dangerous peepel.

Neil, if you’ve never been there, take my advice and dont ever go. It will make you sick to your stomach.

Me, I’m used to it and it’s like water off a duck’s back. I like to know what the sick puppies are thinking. It doesn’t mean that I dont want to vomit when I read the stuff they post. It just helps to reaffirm how stupid and disorganised the extreme right wing hun support are.

It’s not for everyone, but I like to know my enemy.

  11. BRTH@23.10,if your intention was to induce grown men to cry then it’s mission accomplished, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for such an uplifting story,no child should ever have to go through such torment, and no pareent should have to face such consequences. The reaction from the Celtic family will come as no surprise to anyone who has ever encountered us,although,we should not get too carried away in self congratulation, our focus must, and i’m confident will, remain on the objectives in question, children are the earths most precious possessions, and we must do all we can to protect them,I intend to bring this story to the membership of my own club here in San Francisco, and I am coinfident we will respond in true Celtic fashion.

    A Ceiler…,

just meant I dont need to fo on to know what they are like, been listening to theim inside and outsode football all my life, theres nothing they can do that would surprise me. Well except apologise.

  13. BroonSauce –

In the early 90s I used to travel with an Edinburgh supporters club. On the way back along the M8 after a game, there were 2 guys who were not regulars and were causing great discomfort by singing a derogatory song about the Ibrox disaster. They were drunk, and it transpired they hadn’t even gone to the game, but had spent the duration in the Springfield Vaults getting full of it.

As usual, the bus stopped off for a couple of hours at a pub in Chapelhall, whereupon the two guys were told to make their own way back to Edinburgh as they were not being allowed back on the bus. When they protested, they were told they were lucky they waited until the scheduled stop, as most members wanted them papped off on the M8 long before Chapelhall.

A one-off obviously and I only post it to emphasise the disgust of the overwhelming majority of the Celtic supporters within earshot.

Re the reference to daleks WTF?

A thread stared by a right wing supporter of the club we used to know as rangers states:

“Thomson has joined the disgusting ranks of those who mock one of the worst days in football history by referring to Rangers fans as “Daleks” – a well-known reference in Scotland to the Ibrox Disaster.

The sick joke concerns Daleks’ inability to climb the stairs and is used by sectarian haters who seem to view this dark day as an object of twisted fun”.

Well that’s a new one on me. I’ve never mocked that sad period in scottish history and I dont know anyone who used the word “dalek” in the way the sick hun poster has implied.

It’s only since the advent of the internet that I’ve come across Celtic “supporters” using the disaster to wind the Huns up and even then it has only been a few individuals posting on a now defunct forum. A few too many all the same but in terms of this “Daleks” thing or songs and chants in public it is something I have thankfully never come across.

In fact the evidence of the Celtic support’s sympathy towards the victims in terms of respectful silences over the years and of course in the weeks and months after the tragedy is there for all to see.
