The unhelpful winter break

371

Nine days without a game is technically not a winter break but it is double the normal interval Celtic players have between games.  Ironically, it arrives when they found a formation that resolved the performance problems that plagued the club until December.

I would have preferred a midweek game than a break, with three games to make up we have applied pressure to our spring programme, although I’m sure Celtic did not anticipate the turnaround in form when these matters were settled.

Well spotted Double T, I knew there was something odd about that post, I’ve only ever heard ‘Helicopter Sunday’ being quoted by thems, we usually respond by saying do you mean ‘Black Sunday’.

My daughter wanted to go on a fortnights holiday earlier this year with her pals to a safe destination , my first question was, is it allowed ?

Second question was can you afford the 14 day isolation when you come?……We dont have to she said .

The restrictions /rules can change so quickly i said.

She didnt go , her friends came home after six days because restrictions kicked in and they would have had to isolate .

Hopefully the squad get home safe and aren’t punished with isolation……

Whoever would’ve thought that a Board-friendly Celtic forum would be running a vote/opinion poll regarding the sale of a prime asset?

Some people might think that somebody was sampling public opinion to see how such a sale would go down among the support…..

  7. Celtic FC have become the laughing stock, not only in Scotland, but further afield in Europe, and even here in the USA. Don’t believe me- check recent MSM commentary in the relevant publications.

So who then is to blame?

  8. On another note if sevco win the league will out custodian accept that it is 55 or will they put them and authorities in their place with all the evidence presented to them by the wonderful res 12 guysthis is a question every fan should be bombarding the board with call out the cheating

  9. Corkbhoy

Resolution 12 was about a licence Rangers were awarded to compete in Europe in season 2011/12 when they had an overdue and payable tax bill[the wee tax case] outstanding to HMRC.

The scheming that has allowed Sevco is the same as a liquidated club is not but corruption on a grand scale which our club has no seen fit to comment on and I very very much doubt they will or try and do something about it..

  10. Marspapa- ive given it up mate,if they need to quarantine, and we play our reserves, bring it on.HH

Dubai is safer than here. Very little Covid. Visitors tested on arrival and quarantined if positive. Not allowed on a flight unless you have a negative test.

  12. Thanks Dessyboy agree on liscence issues but they have evidence to prove that they are a new club therefore destroying the 55 myth Celtic have it so pressure must be put on club to use it god what would they do in role reversal

Exactly, 80% in favour, seriously? What a way to treat our best player.

Lets hope the board and their apologists on this site get there way it will save me spending £650+ on a season ticket next season.

We can always use the money from the sale of Eddie to bring in a proven EPL centre half on loan.

Very seriously contemplating not renewing next year after nearly 40years and people on here think selling Eddie will help? Unbelievable.

  14. BB @3:35

If true…you couldn’t make it up especially with the season we are having.

Must have been Hammond who organised the trip, anyway it’s not out of their pockets.

  15. Corkboy

But what if Celtic have no objection to them claiming the history of Rangers and this has all been agreed?

  16. Corkbhoy

Missed the other question you asked, in reversal it would still be getting rammed down our throats that Celtic went bust that the club playing in Kerrydale street is a new club with no history other than that created since its inception.

  17. Maybe the ex Charthouse Boy can play Centre Half.

should that not be cart horse as that’s what we have just now playing at centre back

    I made the point on here a couple of weeks back, and assuming my reading of the reports over 7-8 years is correct that the most recent BDO Case Update 10 December 2020;

RFC 2012 PLC (formerly The Rangers Football Club PLC) – In Liquidation shows (page 3) that not only has the “Small tax claim” been “admitted” it is still outstanding nearly ten years on. Now at less than £3.1 million it represents only a fraction of the overall HMRC claim, but the main point being that the new club RIFC is not liable for that tax claim or any other claim made by Creditors apropos ‘The Rangers Football Club’.

That the Small tax claim alone remains unpaid, tells us all we need to know, and no version of the 5WA can alter that fact, regardless of the Parties who signed it.

  23. Which one?

out of the 2 centre backs and the 2 midfielders currently playing centre back , imo 3 of them

  24. Celtic mac

Yes I know Rangers are in liquidation, but football here is a sham, run by adminstrators who allow the continuation myth and clubs who have accepted it, its the boards of every club who are culpable here they have allowed the sham to be agreed and to go ahead unchallenged, what individuals think doesnt matter a jot until turnover is down through lack of season tickets and tickets are sold. then they will listen.

  25. Rock Tree Bhoy on

On the surface of it, Brendan Rodgers was very much his own man with his own thoughts on the best way ahead for Celtic, Peter Lawwell apparently wasn’t keen on that as he thought he should be the one to dictate what lay ahead for Celtic, that’s my reading of why their relationship collapsed, step forward Neil Lennon, who we assume Peter was very happy with,

Point being I’m not sure we would be any further forward supposing we sacked Neil tonight and brought in another Peter Lawwell appointment, out of the frying pan into the fire,

We can’t have a CEO who also runs the football side of things via a user friendly manager, we tried that and it has cost us the 10.

  26. Whilst it doesn’t detract from the self made shambles we are currently in, both the graffiti and the behaviour outside Ibrox were shockingly unacceptable. But it’s the pesky wee Tim’s so no need for politicians to wade in. Only in Scotland. We may – or may not – get a generic condemnation …….”we abhor all forms of bigotry etc etc”………. but Saturday raised very specific issues i.e. why weren’t those guilty of sickening sectarian abuse arrested ? They were standing next to police officers who decided not to execute justifiable arrest(s).

Any politician who hasn’t seen the footage should check it out. Its widely available on social media.

Watching Eddie this season has been like you are late for an important appointment and you get in your car put the foot down but it wont go above 20 MPH, shout and scream as much as you like but it just keeps on doing a steady 20 MPH, yet you know it has a top speed of at least 100 MPH.

So frustrating, would another manager get more out of him? To be fair, Eddie is the least of our problems right now.

  29. Its now on Videocelts with Celtic asking questions of Police Scotland, I wonder who the 2 pip officer was who was at arms length from a guy giving a Celtic employee dogs abuse, arms length but done nothing. Is this how Police Scotland work with clearly identified folk dishing out abuse, if it is society has no protection from the Police.
