Early on it all looked so easy. Kyogo had an excellent chance saved by McCracken in the Dundee goal, then our usually prolific striker shot wide from 12 yards with the goal gaping. Dundee settled after that, although their earlier attempt, which forced a save from Kasper Schmeichel, was their only chance of the game.
Most of the grumblings around me focussed on the wings, where Luis Palma and Yang were given rare and even rarer time on the field respectively. Palma was supported by the returning Greg Taylor, while Anthony Ralston was on the right with Yang.
Most of Celtic’s play went down the left, even Ralston’s most adventurous passing found Palma. Yang was an isolated bit part to the occasion, so of course he would not be productive.
Brendan Rodgers likes to make changes soon after the hour but last night he moved after 55 minutes. Alistair Johnston, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate came on for Ralston, Paulo Bernardo and Yang. Within 5 minutes the contest was over.
At Motherwell on Sunday, Johnston scored with a well-timed run to the back post, last night, it was an equally well-timed run to the front post, were he scored from the narrowest of possible angles to the relief of the crowd.
Seven minutes later, Arne Engels carried the ball 60 yards before slipping it to Kyogo, who was tripped inside the box. Engels rolled the resultant penalty into the net to conclude the scoring. Many in the North Stand expected the penalty award to be overturned for an adjacent incident – but that will remain between us.
The walk along London Road was punctuated by news from Pittodrie that our nearest rivals had beaten the bookies second favourites for the title. No one on the packed street was conflicted. – Aberdeen do not have what it takes to win the league. A cup is another matter.

Cheers good sir! Hopefully sample something from your bar soon. Hope you and bthe good lady had a pleasant night out.
>>>>>>
We had a nice meal in a posh place, thanks. Was sipping whisky with my eldest son until 1:30am, after he came back from San Antonio – just finished a bank financing call, where I was the lead (ouch!!).
I promised you and MNCELT feedback on the Hungarian cask Balvenie – now I’m over a cough/cold etc, it’s a cracker, will certainly get my hands on another bottle when we fly back from London on Jan 3.
If you make it to my bar Mrs Tex will insist you bring company!
if this is liquidation day, could someone find me a person to play the last post on a pretend bugle.

The man that put the quid in Liquidation
Bada – No.
AT, St Stivs,
How many generations must pass before full assimilation in a country is assumed.?
A complex subject but the standard rule of thumb is three.
I would imagine most of our jail population would be indigenous Scots; many without faith to reflect the conntrys trend.
HH.
So many short memories on here.I have watched countless games, where, when faced with an 11 man defence,we have really struggled to break them down.Slow measured build up.Even recently,Scales has been harangued for taking his time. Both wingers did well, staying wide, stretching Dundee.Where the fault occurred, was the lack of guile from the midfield, and a poor attempt by Kyogo,to score. In saying that we had 80% of the game,as we have had in the past. And struggled a bit to break the opponent down.Don’t blame the new guys.
Mncelt- no bother, wait till Sunday at 3👍
Happy liquidation day

I raised the point last night that, contrary to popular opinion, Shinnie didn’t get a yellow or a red card, Aberdeen got a penalty for a handball, rangers didn’t get a sniff of one for Tavernier to score and they got a goal chalked off for a “toenail” being offside. Puts to bed the idea that Beaton was going to ensure his favourites did not lose last night. He did not in any way shape or form go out of his way to help them and Robertson, on VAR, did not attempt to sway him with dodgy lines that would have shown the toenail was onside.
But didn’t you know, the permanently paranoid on CQN have already explained that the ref and var ruled against their heroes last night only because, like their fellow supporters, they want to see Clement sacked, and more Rangers defeats will facilitate that noble objective.
Do try to keep up 😉
I fancy wee KYOGO to score at least TWO Goals on Saturday evening.
I also think that the Huns will beat Motherwell on Sunday, with the assistance of Hun biased officials.
So there now.
HH.
Did John Beaton still get his lift home on the team bus?

The general rule is Irish Catholics do not exist or are hidden deep underneath any statistical release
Irish/Catholic is an ethnic background the same as thos of an indian/pakistani/African background, all the latter are easy to find as a breakdown,Irish and Catholicism are not.
Do tell when this Institutional bias ceased to be?
The short answer is it hasn’t
And this has been so whichever party is in power.
Health stats
Crime stats
Poverty stats
No breakdown, the State like you assumes their categorization is correct it’s not,it’s bollox and full of sh@@.but it goes along way to you coming to your incorrect view.Institutional bias is still there and distorting all who believe it’s point of view
HH
AT,
Anyone who has been brought up in the West of Scotland knowns about past institutional bias.
But this is a totally changed society than it was 40, 50 or 60 years ago where it was common , indeed standard practice to ask ” What school did you go to ” prior to employment etc.
Most of the country do not even identify with Religion now. Im not saying that is right or wrong, its just a fact.
Please give me a recent example where you have suffered institutional bias ?
Thanks and HH.
Hoopy Halloween is the anniversary of Celtic’s first ever League Cup win, 3- 0 against Patrick Thistle followed by their 2nd one a year later in an 8 goal thriller which ended (7-1)

Tom – ah, silly me. That makes sense. Maybe Gerard told him that he was about to be sacked and wanted to get his old job back 😃
As my old coach used to say, “if you are looking for an excuse, you’ll find one”.
Easy Peasy Jackiemac. All thanks should go to Alan. It’s a great piece of work!

in a different reality zone, there is a rangers thread complaining that their lack of goals is because they stopped getting penalties awarded.
and that is due to willie collum who is a place man for peter lawwell.
deludamol anyone ?
Well, the 5 adults in our house have voted as of today.
We’ve had our say, tin hats on until Tuesday (and beyond).

Very much in keeping with that ol’ Texan tradition….

Yes deluded – I know you’re making a joke about it, but have you noticed that the conveyor-belt of penalties has indeed stalled recently? So much so that Phillipe can safely drop TAVPEN.
Has it anything to do with Willie Collum? I don’t know but there is an element of coincidence since he took up his post.
The appointment of WC surely knocks the remnants of the institutional bit of the IB on the head. Individuals will still be prone to implicit bias – it happens in every walk of life the world over. In the high glare of televised football a ‘bent’ official would stick out a mile and not last long.
Just one last thing – my sister in law has recently retired from the SFA. She tells a story about the number of Tim’s employed there – they used to joke “we’re taking over”. If there was IB extant in any Scottish Football organisation, including referees, we would have had a ‘whistleblower’ in the last 20/30 years.
Whatever Beaton has been accused of doing on the pitch, he’s certainly not doing it now – last night was an example. HH
TEXASTIM re: braw fancy meal.
Good lady wouldn’t allow me to attend your bath without her! Will watch out for the Balvenie.

could their non attacking style of fitba also be reducing their number of penalties ?
Superbru Round 10 update
Scoring was a bit higher this round as so many of you lumped on the Swede making the Belgian look like a Turnip. Our top performers were:-
sammybhoy67- 11 pts
Koln Celt- 9.5 pts ( a good performance- must be sobering up after Oktoberfest)
Spootiemad- 9 pts (having a good spell- Jumping 10 places and now in the Top 10)
pending a Steward’s Enquiry- Friesdorfer- 7.5 pts (what’s he doing up here?)
The Token Tim’s 17 pts from Round 4 remains in the lead for best weekly total and will be hard to beat. He/She might win both top prizes.
Having been one of the 7 punters who thought Aberdeen would lose to Sevco, I’d like to thank the following for saving me from the Superbru bottom places this week (I finished in joint 58th place)
Joint 65th- Tirconnell & BC Milan-1.5 pts
Joint 67th- Leggy, Jonny The Tim, Greenpinata & Bada Bing (who got the wooden spoon award from the computer). – all on 1 point.
Don’t feel sorry for them- none of them predicted an Aberdeen win unlike the 42 who did, including 23 with exact score points.
This leaves the overall picture as:-
The Token Tim- 74 points (well done Julie!)
Gaz- 69.5 pts
Cosy Corner Bhoy- 67.5 pts
And emulating our Salt’n’Sauce cousins from Embra, we have, in relegation, if not litigation, difficulties:-
joint 67th- An Tearmann & Big Jimmy- 41 pts
69th- BelmontBrian63- 40 pts
70th- our newest overall wooden spoon holder- Jonny The Tim- 36 pts
Although we have no league commitments until Sunday 10th November at Kilmarnock, there are still 4 Scottish Premiership fixtures this weekend , beginning with 2 Saturday kick offs at 3 pm on 3rd November. Newly promoted Dundee United could end up one point behind Sevco if Hibs manage to Hibs it next Sunday at Easter Road. Get your predictions in for these 4 games.
What a time to be alive!

Surely if folks ancestors had moved to a bigoted evil country then at some point along the line the descendants would be be making moves to live elsewhere?
Is there no “Institutional Bias” in the appointment of Spotsene presenters & pundits.
72 members of Rangers staff had EBT’s to the value of £47m, none of which was paid back, in the biggest football financial crime committed in Scottish football history.
Yet when it came to recruiting ex-footballers to present Sportscene they alighted on EBT recipients Thompson & McCann, occasionally assisted by Cammy Bell who, although he never had an EBT was part of the Heart & Hand podcast, along with 2 others, which was censured for sectarian content. None of these 3 were seen as pariahs for employment purposes by the BBC despite these crimes and associations. Erudite Celtic men like Tom Boyd and Tosh McKinlay were overlooked for these positions. Similarly on radio- Barry & Derek Ferguson- both employed despite being combatants with the English language as it is spoken- given prominent spots in spoken radio programmes.
Now we get Celtic representation on Sportsmen occasionally from inoffensive Simon Donnely and , very recently, from Charlie Mulgrew, but they have nowhere near the profile the EBT boys have. We get inoffensive Packie Bonner on Clydebut no one is gonna be crass enough to mention the EBT & DOS history when they see what happened to Jim Spence, Graeme Speirs, and, to an extent, Chris McLaughlin too.
Nobody’s career has suffered for raising issues related to Celtic Boys Club’s historic child abuse Scandal, nor should it have but that is not true of the BBC & Radio Clyde re EBTs. Institutional Bias was evident and undeniable there.
Sure, we don’t see the overt historic signs of “No Blacks- No Irish” nor do we have the closed shop employment practices of the Banks, Shipbuilding and Newspapers like The Herald anymore. Laws passed in Westminster prevented those things from continuing as they were. But, the attitudes that informed them have not gone away. Scratch long enough at a Secularist view on closing “Sectarian Schools” and you’ll soon find an attitude that betrays a desire to close only one set of schools- those with RC in their title- and they will be blaming the Catholic population for their existence in the first place.
So, I’ll accept- progress has been made but….. Institutional Bias gone????- Naw- but I might sell you a bridge if you believe that.

When did he stop?
The Kevs are talking to themselves again.
Is there a statement of some sort pointing out where it started?
Or, how about all of the mibbery evidence which was presented by the Bampots and it joined John Reid’s “Dossier” in the big museum at the back of the boardroom?
