There is worse to come

Neil Lennon said we didn’t deserve to lose 4-1, as we dominated large parts of the game against a team who have lost their last four games (not against Celtic), conceding 14 goals in the process.  But oh, Neil, we absolutely deserved to lose by at least that margin.

Our disorganisation is a marvel.  Scott managing to start his jump goal-side of a dropping ball and ending up wrong side.  Callum playing three onside.  Kris A. not committing to block the cross (forgiven, trying to cover two positions), Chris J. attempting to intercept with the wrong foot (forgiven, fitness).  Hatem reliving his Ferencvaros highlights.  Full backs who are never back and produce few assists; there is no defensive midfield, unless you count the goalkeeper who feels the need to leave his box and play that position, just a midfield of nomads.

The team is a collection of individuals unencumbered by a workable strategy.  Opposition managers have their game plan written: defend deep, play on the counter and put numbers forward at set-pieces.  If we could defend counter-attacks and corner kicks, we would be having a legendary season, but we can’t, so everyone looks awful.

In sport, if you have evident fatal flaws and persistently fail to resolve them, you deserve every setback that comes your way.  It is hard to recall a Celtic team that deserved to lose more.  Let me give you a cheery prediction, you will soon forget about last night, as there is worse to come.

Canny disagree with Bettega .. Gentile was a thug … I quite admired his surname was similar to gentle … he was anything but :-)

  2. Regards the Hun outstanding Tax Bill. They are playing the system. The government are allowing leeway because of the Pandemic. It still has to be repaid, but at the moment every penny over the City is being directed at stopping the 10.We have Bigots on their Board hoovering up shares every couple of months at 20p a share, when the actual price is well under 10p,just to keep them operating.Every form of repayment is being given leeway at the moment, and God,are they milking it.

What’s the big deal about calling him Lennon.

I think we are being a bit disrespectful to the other teams that we play between now and Jan 02, as I wouldn’t be confident of beating anyone at the moment.

A win and clean sheet today would be a start. But I think it’s too late to turn this around

  5. Good morning, friends.

This afternoon we, yet again, get to see The Champions play. Whilst I don’t want to be too dismissive of Ross County (who are a premiership team, remember) I bet you that Neil is hoping for a 3, 4, 5 goal win today. As I am too. We just need something, anything, to re-ignite the spark. 3h15m….. ;-)

  6. Today we should be resting players, and giving others game time, but because we have been shite most of the season, the manager has to put out a full strength team, because he’s on notice,it’s December next week, yet we don’t know our best 11,or best formation.

  7. As my calling the manager “Lennon” , I think I referred to him last week in a couple of posts as “Lenny”. Apologies if i was being disrespectful – certainly not my intent. I’ll leave it at that.

  8. Interesting little fact – Italy v Argentina in 1982, Maradona holds the record for the most fouled player in any World Cup match. Funnily enough, he was booked and only two Italians received yellow cards.

Maradona also has the record for the most fouled player throughout a World Cup (Mexico 86).

The English might want to consider that when they call him a cheat.

    Seemingly hun like.

Larsson, Mcgrory, McNeil, Johnstone, Tully, McStay etc etc but he has to be called Lenny or Neil….

  10. So if Ryan Christie plays for Celtic today versus Ross County in the rubbish cup, we could have RC playing for the RCs against RC in the RC!

    RCC (Right, C’mon Celtic).

    Hail Hail

  11. I think some Celtic fans feel like “Lennon” is typed with venom at times … a bit like the SMSM who always refer to Gerrard as … Steven Gerrard … as in “Steven Gerrard’s Rangers” … I have never heard or read … “Neil Lennon’s Celtic” … sometimes the context of a post “Lennon” seems a lot harsher than Neil or Lenny … is it any coincidence that a lot of posters who are quite openly against Neil (and at times quite rightly so) use “Lennon” rather than the softer versions of our managers name/nickname

  12. Let’s hope we don’t make an RC (Right Clusterf…) of it, otherwise we’ll need kick up the ARRRCEE!

    Off now, enjoy your day.

  14. I did not realise that Big Jimmy was banned

I guess he fell foul of the language policy on here but, as for a bullying charge, that’s a joke.

How many of us would have reacted differently if someone had come on here to offer money or services to you in front of all your mates on here. Just contrast the way that David 66 cautiously offered to help out with his time when Big Jimmy needed temporary assistance and the patronising and glad-handed manner in which it was done, unsolicited on here by Big Packy, who, at the same time he was posting on CQN, had nipped back to Sentinel Celts to ask the posters there “Did you see what I had just posted on CQN?”. Thabkfully, the others on SC were not interested in these petty tactics.

I am afraid, that if circumstances were reversed, my reaction might have been more volatile than the restrained tones Big Jimmy used.

    As for the other victim, I have more respect for people who use adjectives and nouns to insult you directly than those who proclaim that they never use insulting language, whilst they categorise you as sheep, hoodwinked, blind-faithers etc;

I have more respect for Big Jimmy in this spat and I hope he is back soon.

Big Jimmy’s probably just scunnered rather than banned . The attention seeking protagonist was on again the other night trying to stiir it up again but BJ didn’t fall for it .

  19. Still to many people looking at the rotten mob and makes excuses about our club in the here and now .

Lots of heads in the sand a sense of forced/manufactued injustice regards the rotten mob

We had them down a boot on their throat we looked away and now the mess we are approaching Is a criminal act from the board and everything under them .

I find it hilarious some of the stuff I see.

They are crap/not that good laugable

Referees are cheating doubtful (poor standard)

The board want a strong force of darkness hilarious

And Phil’s “inside info” fantasy stuff

We have all been guilty of dismissal of them regardless of what they and some fantasy posters worlds we are in .

We were so far ahead and if we retained the model in place and the eyes on us and the end of the road this would have been another straight forward season .

In short we brought it to ourselves and all the problems that are now cropped up are as a result of the boards failure to act/drive forward .

Nothing to do with referees or. SFA. Or the rotten mob had we did what we were doing at the same levels of diligence and intent that produced a winning team on the park when you are winning nothing can affect us to be frank.

This started 18 months ago and hindsight is wonderful Paul 67 often said ignore the hubris and noise from over there …many keep looking and missed a bigger crime going front of our eyes .

The mess we are in won’t fix itself we dropped the ball. And the pain is going to mentally kill us for a few years

A good friend of mine a hibs man a football man (referee) a man who is a barrister in his day job .

Told me when we took Neil Lennon permanent it was a mistake lots of reasons about his style and coaching and how second terms rarely work out etc . I disagreed strongly.

He actually said 2 years it will be tears his analysis is looking spot on .

I was. Talking to to him a few weeks ago he felt the FOD has not only improved in defence but there coaching was certainly evident to him as a watcher.

He felt we had regressive traits. And tellingly he said it was the exact same at Hibs when neil.lennon was there same time scales etc !

That’s an insight from a guy who’s not got a biased bone in his body .

So to the here and now we must (all of us ) look inward get our house sorted before pointing at others

We will get the chance to do it. But it must be when we are back on top other wise we look like the spoiled child all and I mean all must use all our energy to help the club come thru this then use it elsewhere if required.

I personally can’t ask for Neil Lennon to leave. Despite.knowing it’s probably for the best I wonder if this is what he feels but the shell of a man he is now I hope hurts as much as we do I believe he will be but his desire to.prove people wrong maybe mis directed in this instance.

We need to back out players manager at and club with an intensity not know for many years back to the weeks Mr McCann came on the scene .

  20. I’ve called him Lennon since he was a player with us when I loved him . He was an absolute star and legend.

As a manager, now that’s a different story.

I suppose it’s all about opinions.

Did the Scottish matches yesterday have a minutes silence/applause for Maradona?

The EPL English games I watched did, the players also wore black armbands.

  22. Today’s starting line up v Ross County …

Barkas, ElHamed Ajer, Jullien, Bitton Laxalt, Brown, Christie, Rogic, Ajeti, Edouard

Subs: Bain Taylor Duffy Elyounoussi, McGregor, Ntcham Henderson Ralston Klimala

  23. After all these years many of us still call Deco a cheat.

Fom what I have seen English football has generally been very respectful in memory of the greatest ever player.
