There’s only one John Guidetti

1256

I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself.  Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic.  He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.

Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.

He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.

There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality.  Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.

If only we had a song for him….

I will be in Dortmund on Sunday cheering on Scotland and deriding the SFA. So I will not be popular. Luckily I will be wearing lederhosen

Got my tickets through today. Having to sit in amongst those pesky Germans, probably safer mind you. Neighbour asked me to get a ticket for some Jock who he knows but I have never met before. I hope he isn’t a currant!

    Maybe see you there.

Also, coincidentally, going down to Munich for my annual pilgrimage on 18th Sept which just happens to coincide with a game that is on in Salzburg, a short train journey away.

So looking forward to our wee run of games at CP now. Hail hail. 120 goals in the league this season. A treble and quarter finals in Europa might even bring a smile to a few malcontents ??

Having visited Murrayfield and Paradise last week, like majority on here felt a bit low about our heroes.

A week is a long time in politics as we will find out in the next fortnight, no politcal debate from me.

The recovery in my heart started with the comeback from Donegal against Dublin at the weekend, sorry Dubs. There was something really inspiring about that game.

Roll on Thursday, we have The Big Serb and John as our forward line.

Best piece of business so far by our Ronny is to promote Jim McGuiness to the first team.

    Celtic allowed to sign Guidetti

    Thursday 4 September 2014

Celtic have been granted special dispensation to sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti.

English champions City and Celtic soon confirmed that Guidetti had joined Ronny Deila’s side on a season-long loan deal.

Guidetti, who is on Sweden Under-21s duty, welcomed the news.

He wrote on his Twitter account: “Delighted to have finally joined @celticfc on loan … Can’t wait to get started and play in front those fans @TheBhoys”

The striker arrived at Celtic Park on Monday evening but the club only announced the signing of Serbia striker Stefan Scepovic before the deadline.

Celtic successfully persuaded the Scottish Professional Football League to extend its deadline from 11pm to midnight, to fall in line with the SFA’s deadline.

But part of the registration document was received just after midnight, forcing the SFA and SPFL to take the club’s case to FIFA.

The bureaucratic hitch might yet prevent Guidetti playing in the Europa League group stages as the deadline for the submission of squads was midnight on Tuesday.

Guidetti is looking to rejuvenate his career after injury and illness derailed his progress.

He scored 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord on a loan spell in 2011-12 and made his full international debut, but a problem with his leg, which was caused by illness, ruled him out of Euro 2012.

He came back last season but a loan spell at Stoke only yielded six substitute appearances, with no goals.

    Just had a thought –

Isn’t it fekin magic what’s heappend to the Huns?

Remember thinking, when Sooooonessss and ‘Uncle Walter’ were here that we would never win the league again? God bless Wim and Murdo for stopping they fekers (and shame on those who give Murdo Hunskelper such a hard time).

Anyway – Rangers FC – and all their dignity, Aye Ready, establishment pish – are dead, kaput, feked, completely obliterated, will never win anything ever, every again; they are history, deceased, utterly null and void.

Still hasn’t sunk in completely – but every now and again, my brain just goes “Yeeeeeeeesssssssss”.

I love what has happened to them, and all down to his glorious, majestic, lord, sir-private-jet, multi-billionaire, scumbag Murray – Hell bliddy throw it right hard into them.

Apologies – that just all popped into my head.

  13. Re this referendum thing. I have yet to encounter anyone who can convince me they are clever enough to know the economic outcome. Politically I am also unsure what will become of the SNP ?

The biggest thing I would love to understand though is for someone to explain why anyone of a Celtic orientation could vote to be part of a country which institutionalises anti Catholicism ?

Jim Murphy might be a Scottish Prime Minister in the next few years.

Jim Murphy would never be a British Prime Minister.

That will probably determine my vote.

Nae fear. But some people are very touchy, or should that be tetchy. Hahaha

  15. Burnley78. I think your logic is a bit all over the place here. If we vote for independence we will still have the same monarchy and the same restrictions. The main country which institutionalises anti Catholicism is Scotland. You will then be subjected to that institutionalised sectarianism as a very small minority.
