There’s only one John Guidetti

1256

I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself.  Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic.  He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.

Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.

He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.

There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality.  Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.

If only we had a song for him….

Really….I feel more foreign in England than I do anywhere else in Europe.

Scots and English differ so much it’s not true.

    Really?

Never had a problem, what’s your issues?

    from the haugue an awe.

    murphy smears is it,

if ever a truth will out story , well

    watch it down the line.

  4. Bawsman, Scotland will not be out of the EU if we vote yes, an already debunked nonsense.

As is the NATO and currency nonsense.(Bank of England is English in name only, it is the Bank of the UK)

Farage will pick his seat very carefully, a hung Parliament is in his interests.

A Yes vote is neither insular, nor stupid.

I get the less borders argument, but that ignores the leaning, politically of England, a vote to leave the EU is becoming likely. Not just a border, a sea between.

The Stupid add on, ok if you want to be insulting, on you go. I’ll argue the points.

  6. Deliberately try to keep out of the Aye/Naw debate most of the time , and wish I had a quid for every time in the last 3 months I have been asked by intellectually challenged English people ( there are a few) on how I will vote in a referendum in a country I haven’t lived in or paid taxes in (wee bit like DeadRangers) since the early 90’s.Amazingly some of them don’t get it that I don’t get to vote.

I don’t vote in any election but my family back in Glasgow all have different opinions and most of them will vote.Using the opinions of my dad, brothers, sisters, aunties, uncles, dugs and budgies as my straw poll….I feel the eventual outcome is too close to call and wouldn’t fancy betting my house on the result.

Just one thing I can’t understand though?

As the world becomes one big website, and the internet links not just nations but continents these days, for commerce and culture, then why would a small country vote to become an even tinier part of the global village?

Put me down for a spoilt ballot paper then……If I had one.

The vast majority of the voting public who have engaged in the process would agree entirely with your point of view. There will be ramifications of there is no doubt.

There in lies the crux of the decision we are about to embark on. Citizens need to ask themselves. Will we recover and become the country we all want to be? Can we prosper as an independent nation?

Can we recover from the long lasting ramifications financially to become self reliant? My opinion is that in time yes we can. We are an intelligent fully developed country, renowned the world over. Becoming independent will not change our identity or heritage.

How much time it will take for us to be prosperous is one of the key points any Yes voter has to consider. If I am to vote Yes, will the country be a better place for my children and grandchildren as opposed to a member nation of the United Kingdom?

Those are just some of the multitude of questions we have to ask ourselves. Like I said, I am still undecided.

Auldheid@18.25 meticulous as usual. Many thanks for all of your interventions BUT you are backing a loser if you are trying to get the bhuns to own up to past “indiscretions”. Ain’t gonna happen and as your missive with Rhapsodyinblue highlights even their most articulate( is calling a Hun articulate a contradiction in terms?an oxyMORON) followers are in denial.

Obviously it is a personal issue.

Know lots of Scots living all over England and have never met anyone who feels this way about their hosts.

I hope you can resolve whatever makes you feel this way mate.

  14. Celticrollercoaster. Please don’t quote from cyber Nat sites. I was aware of the so called a and p view. Have you read that site?

No one likes uncertainty least of all investors. An independent Scotland would be a very uncertain place. A triple a rating based on lots of financial services job losses.mmmmm

    Ask yourself.

    Does that make sense?

Many quote these cyber Nat sites and sadly celticrollercoaster, while it know you are a great chap, you bougtpht the Jim murphy smear. That really was awful.

But you have placed your bet and so have I.

Let a hope one of us is right regardless of how we voted.

It’s such a massive massive gamble.

  15. I manage a Scottish Manufacturing site ( & Ireland site), which is part of a large multi-national Co.

A Yes or No vote, will have absolutely no Impact on my site (s) or the business, as far as I am aware. there is absolutely No plans to either decrease or increase head count either way.

Would expect the same for vast majority of organisations.

From being undecided, I am now in the Yes camp :-)

On saturday 13th september approx 15,000 orangemen will march through edinburgh in support of the no campaign.is this what celtic fans on this site who advocate a no vote want the future of scotland to be?knuckkedraggers who want to live in the past?bringing chaos to our streets, terrorising people who dont bow down to the sash or the union jack.it saddens me that some on this site wont grasp the opportunity to make history just like our club have done so many times!! So its a yes for me not bitter together!!

  19. Lomond. Sigh. Really. So if you are a no voter you are an OB. Is that the sum total of your intelligence?

  20. NegAnon2

That is fair enough but the idea that bigotry cuts one way is equally wrong.

The thing is I believe the role of religion to be one that will disappear drastically in the next 50 years and as the worst of the bigots will disappear as their generations do.

That is not to say there are not young bigots but think about the USA. They have made strides against many forms of bigotry as have the people of Scotland.

Racism, religious bigotry and intolerance, homophobia and sexism are in every society but time changes people and societies and in the long run the extremist have been losing and they know they are. We will beat all of these things but it won’t happen overnight.

Bawsman, Scotland will not be out of the EU if we vote yes, an already debunked nonsense.

    Debunked by who exactly?

If scotland vote for separation they will leave the EU and will have to re-apply.

As is the NATO and currency nonsense.(Bank of England is English in name only, it is the Bank of the UK)

The scary thing about your YES argument is you throw away really really important stuff as “nonsense”

Farage will pick his seat very carefully, a hung Parliament is in his interests.

Who cares about Farage? He might get a seat. So might screaming Lord Such if he’s still alive. Labour will win by a large majority.

A Yes vote is neither insular, nor stupid.

    Nationalism is always insular…………and dangerous.

  22. Had chat with my older brother tonight, both him and his wife are big no voters. Anyway they were both out campaigning in Edinburgh tonight, he reckons the feed back is NOT looking good for the No campaign.

For the first time, Im really starting to believe it could be Yes vote in 2 weeks time.

Only in my opinion off course.

  23. Saint stivs. The Jim murphy thing is appalling on every human level. It’s disgusting you contribute to it.

Well we agree on that we are voting what we think is best for our kids.

I’ve left my kids to make their own minds up who they will vote for and both have opted to vote yes.

I know my brother being a director in a major company is a stalwart no.

My daughter is on holiday in the USA with him and my sister in law, he will be trying to get my daughter to change her mind.

The point being….let each person make their own mind up after weighing up the pros and cons and whatever the outcome…deal with it, as not everyone can be winners.HH

  27. Seriously…….

Neutral hat on here in Aye/ Naw debate.

Scotland will NOT be a full member of the EU if it becomes an independent country.

Scotland will need to apply for membership and meet the criteria for this.( not difficult these days admittedly)

Whether you agree with it or not,it’s true.

  28. Never had any problems in England, by and large, good people. Whats that got to do with it.

What a nonsense that its a massive gamble only for independence, its a gamble either way, and look at the portents down south.

The very fact there is an independence referendum has changed the status quo, its not going to be the same any more, even if you wanted it to be. If its no, you’re sponging, harry lauder jocks who bottled it. Thats no reason to vote yes – theres better ones – but you better be ready for whats coming if its a no, and no complaining.

  30. I am also fed up of this conversation about us sharing the £. If we and Independent remaining Uk share the money that drives our independent economies, then one cannot make a change that would lessen or devalue the others £. So we would need to agree every change that would effect this. So our fiscal policies would have to be interdependent. So seeing is this drives so much ; where’s the independence?
