There’s only one John Guidetti

1256

I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself.  Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic.  He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.

Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.

He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.

There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality.  Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.

If only we had a song for him….

Well Anelka has been quite reliable at scoring goals (his job).

We know he is a moody character but theres plenty of difficult players around.

His goal celebration that got him into trouble at WBA was not anti-semetic or racist it was actually anti-racist and anti the system.

Anyway I’m sure he’s rich enough now to be able to shrug off the injustice.

  2. Morning all,

    Any news on John Guidetti?

Where did you all get your sausage rolls from back in the 70’s?

    Yes or No?

    Toasted or baked?

    Begin….

  3. Any celtic news ? Good to see the swede has joined.

We have been after him for few seasons then ? So he must have been on the same list lawell gave to ronnie

Sadly the list should have been handed over months ago.

    Just for you proudbhoy……and davidopoulous

JOHN Guidetti has declared his delight at joining Celtic and how he’s relishing the prospect of finally pulling on the Hoops.

The highly-rated hitman’s season-long loan move to the Scottish champions from Manchester City was rubber-stamped yesterday.

And that was greeted with joy by the 22-year-old, who is back in his homeland preparing for Sweden Under-21s’ UEFA European Championship qualifier against Greece.

Guidetti and fellow new signing Stefan Scepovic will link up with the Celtic squad next week following the international round of fixtures. And the striker told the official website that he can’t wait to get started in Paradise.

“I’m so happy to be part of this amazing club,” said the striker. “It’s a big honour and I’m going to give it my very best to live up to what the fans deserve. I can’t wait to wear the Celtic jersey.”

  5. Great news, really hope the 2 new bhoys hit the ground running.. We need some new heroes.

Hopefully the big swede loves it and joins us on a free next season.

Whens the celts play again then… ?

Richard Gough has urged the club’s board to reach out to ex-Ibrox director Dave King for financial help, as he reacted with anger to news of the naming rights deal.

    Ha, Ha………will they ever learn?

  7. If Joe McHugh reads this blog, Joe- I really like your Video Celts site but the pop up ads are annoying beyond redemption, try and get it fixed please.

Just abandoned a session on there because of it. HH

Although Swedish, John Guidetti’s paternal grandfather came from Italy and his great grandfather has Brazilian roots, he has lived twice in Kenya when his familly worked with a Swedish school project in Nairobi.

John credits a lion share of his football achievements playing with older kids in the poorer slum areas of Kibera and Mathare Nairobi as one important step in his football development.

Helping young talented people in all walks of life is something that is very close to John Guidetti’s personal concerns. Therefore John Guidetti is now initiating the John Guidetti Foundation “that aims to support talented young people that share the passion for, with special skills in -football- a bit more of a sporting chance to follow in his footsteps in their strive to achieve a professional footbaling success.

Sorry I didn’t reply, had went to my scratcher.

I’m now off to my work and don’t have the time or apparatus to get into a lengthy discussion (usually is with you :-), that’s a compliment).

In the meantime I’d point out your interpretation of my post is a wrong in one sense.

The card reference is a retort to one poster who I have issue with after his slanderous and hostile atritude.

    Take care.

  10. Auldheid- Just read your note to Jim Delahunt on twitter. I would like to think he has the guts to use these facts on his show but sadly he won’t, his masters won’t allow him to upset his core audience.

    He knows the truth though.

The Last time l tipped a Player to be Top Goalscorer in the SPL was Sammi at 14/1..

Yep the Year he Scored 12 in 10 Games then got Injured for Greece..and scored another 1 or 2..Ha..

Around the Same time l tipped him 2 or 3 Times to Score a Hat-Trick in a Game..

How he Never scored a Hat-Trick in that game against Motherwell when we went in 4-0 up at Half-Time l will never Know..

I’m tipping Guidetti to Score 20 Plus goals for Celtic this Year..The Bhoy must be Bursting a Gut to get back to his Previous Form/Scoring..

Also l think Delia will favour him in the SPL with the Thursday/Sunday schedule coming up..

In fact l think Celtic could have 2x..20 Plus Strikers this Season..Are You listening SydneyTim..;-)

  14. Summa of Sammi….

In fairness to big Sammi he was a team player.

Dare I say he wasn’t greedy enough as a striker. If he had been he would have scored more goals.

He brought a lot to the team though. I will miss big Samaras.

Heard the best reason for Independence on Radio Scotland this morning from a Slovak sociologist: we will have to grow up and take responsibility, rather than blaming big bad England whenever there’s a mistake made. No more chips on both shoulders. Rather appeals to me, that does.

  21. Legia fined over banner

Legia Warsaw have been fined 80,000 euros after fans displayed a banner criticising UEFA, during their Europa League play off against Aktobe last week.

The club’s official website says that UEFA’s disciplinary panel imposed the sanction after a hearing on Thursday.

Legia were eliminated from the Champions League third qualifying round after fielding a suspended player against Celtic during their 6-1 aggregate win.

UEFA awarded the Scottish champions a 3-0 second leg win that saw them advance into the next round.

  22. Cringeworthy these Guidette songs that involve anything regarding the dead ones. Please refrain.
