I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself. Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic. He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.
Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.
He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.
There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality. Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.
If only we had a song for him….
Guidetti as a teenager in Holland:

I must have been missing something.
If Henrik Larsson is as good as some posters appear to think he is, just how did we manage to get him in the face of what must have been some fearsome competition?
============================
Oh dear, someone doesn’t know their history…
scullybhoy
Yes you are missing quite a lot.
Although Henrik was an international before he joined us he had fallen out with his coach in Holland and out of the first team-I think. It was once he was at Celtic that he forfilled his potential .He just got better and better and he went on to become IMHO the -greatest ever Celtic player.
Blantyre Tim – just logged in and note posters showing concern. Anything I can do you know where I am.
HMRC Obligations and Reporting
E20 Subject to Rule E28, any Club which has not within twenty eight days of the
relevant Due Date paid to HMRC the amounts due to be paid to HMRC to
discharge:-
E20.1 the Club’s full liability for PAYE & NIC due from and including 1 July 2013 in
respect of any and all employees or former employees of the Club for the
immediately preceding payment period;
E20.2 the Club’s full liability for PAYE & NIC which becomes due from and
including 1 July 2013 as a result of an assessment issued by HMRC; and/or
E20.3 defaults on the terms of any Time to Pay Agreement;
(each a “Default Event”) shall report the Default Event to the Secretary within 2
days of the Default Event
E21 Rules E20.1 and E20.2 shall not apply to any arrears of PAYE & NIC (“Arrears”)
which are or become included as part of a Time to Pay Agreement.
E22 Subject to Rule E28, where any Club has any Arrears as at 1 July 2013, that Club
shall:
E22.1 provide the Secretary by not later than 14 July 2013 full details of the
Arrears, together with the periods to which they relate and a copy of any
Time to Pay Agreement in force in relation to such Arrears; and41
E22.2 subject to Rule E24, conclude with HMRC and lodge with the Secretary a
Time to Pay Agreement by 31 December 2013 in relation to any of those
Arrears which were not the subject of a Time to Pay Agreement as at 1 July
2012 and which are not discharged in full by 31 December 2013;
and the failure of a Club to comply with Rules E22.1 and/or E22.2 shall also be
Default Events.
E23 A Club may apply to the Board for an extension of time to conclude a Time to Pay
Agreement in terms of Rule E22.2. The Board shall have absolute discretion as to
whether to refuse or approve an application, and if the Board chooses to approve
an application it may impose such conditions as it determines. The Board may
subsequently withdraw any approval or in the alternative amend or withdraw any
of the conditions and impose new conditions at any time.
E24 For the avoidance of doubt, where a Club defaults on or after 1 July 2013 on the
terms of a Time to Pay Agreement entered into prior to 1 July 2013, and such
default results in amounts becoming due to HMRC on such default, the provisions
of Rule E22 (which provides the Club with a time period in which to agree a Time to
Pay Agreement) shall not apply, and the Club shall remain subject to a Default
Event until such times as the outstanding amounts are paid in full.
E25 When a Club reports a Default Event to the Secretary it shall at the same time
provide to the Secretary details of any and all amounts then due to HMRC by the
Club in respect of PAYE & NIC, together with the periods to which they relate.
E26 A Club which fails to report a Default Event to the Secretary within 2 days of the
Default Event shall be in breach of these Rules.
E27 Each Club shall provide to the Secretary, not later than 31 March prior to the
commencement of a Season, (and in any event within 7 days of any request for a
further authority from the Secretary), an original, irrevocable authority (which shall
not be time constrained) in the form prescribed by the Secretary and signed by a
director and the company secretary, of the Club, addressed to HMRC authorising
HMRC to provide to the Company, if a Club suffers or has suffered a Default Event,
information relating to amounts of PAYE & NIC payable, paid and overdue from the
Club to HMRC from time to time including, by way of example and without
limitation, the amount of Arrears (if any), the existence of and current position in
respect of any Time to Pay Agreement. The Company shall be entitled to forward
the Authority to HMRC without having to seek the consent of the Club.
E28 Any amounts which HMRC claims to be due to it, for example by way of an
assessment, but which have been formally contested by the Club shall not be
considered as due to HMRC for the purposes of Rules E20 and E22 until such time
as a final determination is made on HMRC’s claim.
E29 Except with the consent of the Board, any Club which takes, suffers or is subject to
a Default Event or Events shall not be entitled or permitted to Register any
Professional Player with the League and the League shall not Register such a Player 42
until the Board is satisfied that such Default Event or Events shall no longer
continue or subsist.
Inspection of Financial Records
E30 Every Club shall keep detailed financial records and the Company shall be entitled
to inspect such records and to require Clubs to provide copies of any financial or
other records which the Company may reasonably require in order to enable the
Company to investigate whether the Club has complied and is complying with these
Rules, the Articles, the Scottish FA Articles, the UEFA Statutes and the FIFA Statutes
and to ensure compliance by the Club with the same.43

Far too much talk of THEM and THEIR problems.
Concentrate on our own shortcomings.
There seems to be an alarming atmosphere that signing two guys late on Monday has suddenly solved all our problems.

Admin 2 should not be being discussed or aired it is nothing but a total untruth
That is the case however the SPFL have already stated that it will be a points deduction relating to a second admin when they go under, transfer of membership and all that, new club, so what, your on the same ticket, -25 points
Only if THEY are 26 points ahead at the time of punishment.
Cannot say it often enough.
There is absolutely nothing short of Celtic being relegated that will prevent them being in top division next season
You Think, we shall see, I remember this was said when the hun died, the SPL, ok, maybe the championship :-) Don’t be too confident

Yes, a soul
BT,
you mentioned the other night you were down at Largs, when you were a meer waen that Tony Shep was with you did you ever play with Barney NcGee.
Love the French National Anthem.
France v Spain on Sky 5 now.
The laws of physics and chemistry determine that matter goes from solid to liquid to gas. So to paraphrase George W Bush – the next step for Deidco cannot be liquidation, but must be gasification.
P.S. If there is a hellish smell in the air over Govan some time soon, you’ll know what it is…
I am sorry to say that you are misrepresenting what I actually posted, so I will repeat my earlier observation.
I have found myself surprised that almost all of those who have decided that they saw their future elsewhere, now want to tell those of us who preferred to stay in our great homeland how we should choose to be governed in OUR future.
I was suggesting that we who remained are more interested in our COMMON good than those who chose to look after ‘number one’.
Of course, I may be wrong in my thinking. I have often been previously.
I will do a deal with all of you who have committed themselves to other jurisdictions.
I promise NOT to ever give an opinion about a vote in Queensland, Ontario or even Nevada, if our ex-Scots will accord those of us who live in Scotland the same respect.
I respect your decisions.
Accord me that same respect.
———————————————————————————————————
Kilbowie Kelt,
I don’t think many of those that have moved elsewhere are “telling those that stayed how they should choose to be governed”.
Most are just pointing out some of the pitfalls that may be attached to either choice.
To suggest that those who stayed are somehow interested in some “COMMON” good is laughable. People in Scotland will vote in the same way anyone else afforded the luxury of a democratic say almost always do. In their own personal self-interests. In other words they will choose first and foremost to look out for number one.
Spare us the holier than thou nonsense that folk in Scotland are somehow wrestling with how to plump for the most altruistic way of casting their vote.
Makes you sound like a petulant small-minded parochial eejit with an inferiority complex.
I am quite comfortable with you giving your opinions on the ramifications of referendums elsewhere in the world. If they prove worthy of consideration then I will do just that.
Maybe it is YOU that should be affording others the same respect?

One wee question…
When did I ever mention ‘staying in Scotland to fight the cause’ ?
I don’t talk like that.
I don’t think like that.
Please try to concentrate on what I actually said.

What I do not understand from the header article
The player was suffering from a debilitating illness recently recovered from same We were allegedly chasing him in last 3 transfer windows however he chose to go to Stoke City in the January 2014 window We obviously didn’t chase him hard enough then or we failed to impress him
Just wondering if he is so sought after why choose a club now that was in a better state 9 months ago
Seems that nobody else tried hard enough to get him this transfer window bar us
