There’s only one John Guidetti

1256

I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself.  Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic.  He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.

Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.

He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.

There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality.  Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.

If only we had a song for him….

  4. “Seems that nobody else tried hard enough to get him this transfer window bar us”

    mickbhoy1888,

part of that could be that the EPL teams all have way more money than sense and don’t need to do much research when scouting players?

Let’s give the guy a chance, if it doesn’t work out so be it. Neither party will have committed too much to the arrangement.

You may find it laughable, but then it sorta reinforces Kilbowie Kelt’s point…………

Didn’t get any replies to my question earlier on the last article, did any other ST holder who bought the 3 game package for the EL group games get told it will be on the ST. No tickets sent out. I don’t mean free on the ST, but your ST will be activated for entry. I find this strange. I paid for the tickets.

WeeFra, I went in to pick up the three match package, the lhad was very helpful, but you don’t automatically get your own seat, the tickets won’t automatically be sent out.

I was lucky and got my own seats, only because no one else had bought them yet.

    You need the paper tickets.

  10. Sorry if someone already answered that, just catching up.

Welcome John Guidetti, make us a new hero!

  11. We are quite right to take Guidetti on loan.

He has a really poor fitness record.

He must prove that he can stay fit before we can consider signing him permanently.

Would that be his point that anyone that has moved away from Scotland only did so to “look out for number one”, and that everyone that stayed is interested in creating some Caledonian Nirvana?

I accept your judgement in the spirit that I hope it was intended.

I think that most of us in Scotland care about the ‘common good’.

    Maybe I delude myself.

But, in my eyes, that is what makes us as Celtic/Keltic people WHO WE ARE.

  15. A couple of observations on our new mhan….. He cannae sing, but I’ve a feeling he could be a new hero, don’t know why but I do.

I have never told anybody on here what to do with their vote. I have never tried to enter the political debate. I did leave Scotland in 1985. I don’t believe I owe Scotland any kind of debt of gratitude. My parents my family and friends who supported me Yes definitely but I am not arrogant enough to think that I can somehow pay them back. All I can do is do for mine what they done for me. All men are equal and no national or religious barrier should prevent any man from striving for those ideals. I hate to say it as normally I like your posts but your stance is akin to book burning. I think you should think about it a bit more deeply.

Despite the colossal disappointment of the CL fiasco I’m actually looking forward to the rest of the season.

When was the last time we had what appear to be two proper CF’s on our books?

With Gordon in goal , VVD ( and keeping him was huge ) and Denayar in defence, Broony and Commons in midfield/ playing just off the strikers and 2 proper CF’s we might, might just have gotten the spine of our team sorted.

When was the last time we could say that?

    ………………………….

You’ve summed up exactly how I feel. It’s beginning to look very positive.

  19. With the certain administration of newco and the deduction of points, it would be interesting to see if the betting on hertz winning the league has changed of late?

  25. KK

    Point taken.

Caring about the common good is not a mindset that is unique to the people of Scotland though.

Although it will not directly affect me either way, I genuinely hope that whatever way the vote goes that the people of Scotland benefit from their decision.

I just feel that both sides have not been open enough about a great deal of the detail of what either outcome might produce, and that people are being asked to vote on something they are not as well-informed about as they might be or should be.

I blame the leadership of both camps for not being open enough, whether that be through incompetence or deliberate obfuscation.

Good luck to Scotland whatever option she chooses anyway.

Remember Guidetti will need our support after his illness he has been left with damaged muscles and there is no guarantee he will be the same player again. So when he is struggling or has a poor touch he needs our support not our boos. This is a big chance for the young guy lets help him to make the best of it.H.H.
