‘They’ want to get rid of him. Not all of them, by any measure, I’ve seen Neil Lennon welcomed as an old friend by some whose allegiances lie a long way from Celtic Park, but to some he represents an opportunity to indulge in the kind of prejudice which was once widely accepted in Scotland.
In this instance I’m not talking about the idiot football fans, there are lots of idiot football fans, just waiting for an opportunity to present their credentials. You can meet them wearing any colours. The people who showed their true colours today were in charge of stewarding guests at Tynecastle – and Neil Lennon was a guest.
It’s a horrible place. The day the flats are built cannot come soon enough. I expect a robust response from Aberdeen, as well as life bans. I expect nothing from Hearts.

Getting ready now to leave for Celtic Park.
I’ll support Neil Lennon the best way I can, we’ll let him know he is not alone, and we stand beside him in the face of bigots.
We are all Neil Lennon.
16 roads:
I wasn’t arguing, I was explain why I reacted in post in kind, only I stepped it up, now Ernie does not like it up him, and if he does not want others to react then maybe he should think about his initial posts a wee bit more.
You understand what I am saying don’t you, if that dick wants to get nasty in Dec 2013, then in Feb 2014 I reserve the right to respond accordingly, apologise if I’m a wee bit slow. Now did you see Ernie whingeing anywhere? Doubt it; because he’s playing his game and although I’m not a player, I still breathe, I still think.
I’m actually afraid of what will happen to Tims if a yes vote materialises.
Don’t opine. The evidence is there. Gauge by the actions since some parts of the state have come under SNP authority.
no opinions; examine the evidence.

fair point. Get to the game and support our manager folks.
Well done to hoops supporter Stephen Gallacher who has just earned 2,500,000 dollars by winning the golf in Dubai.

You’re right, but there was only one government, one state, as opposed a terrorist movement that suspended law and killed lawyers and children and priests, and others too.
And that state has a crown.

Neil is preparing his team for a game.
He, as the victim, will share his view with the club and request their support if he wishes.
I suggest you wait for that before hurling blame at the board.
Neil may even feel playing this down is the best way to progress with least personal danger and want a lid put on it, who knows ? Not you or me for sure.
I expect that Neil will be given a rousing reception today as he exits the tunnel to take his place in the dugout.
Still no official statement from CFC.

Ok mate, that’s fair enough.
I still don’t agree with the nastiness though, regardless of who or where it emanates.
The media coverage on places like radio Clyde apparently really would be a concern but for the obvious butter anti Celtic / Catholic agenda which Bryce and his crew lead.
Burnley 78 I cannot accept what your saying fella the Board should have made a statement yesterday. We cannot continue to sit back and accept our manager who ever he is being abused. H.H.

The Scottish people have the right to self determination and have had that right since universal suffrage was introduced.
To date they have exercised that right by electing to remain as part of the UK.
The nats inability to differentiate between the position of Ireland and Scotland in relation to the UK suggests they have little understanding of either one or both countries history.
Burnley78
Quite right, – and a Celtic spokesman has already responded.
Meanwhile via MSM before the Celtic enquiry begins, we’ve already had it’s Neil Lennon’s fault anyway, and the latest from STV is “Did it really happen?” – “Why did he not go to the Police?” “Are there any witness’s?”

A statement of done description needs to be made ….even if it’s a statement saying nothing further will be said
Otherwise ..a section of the support will assert that Lenny has chosen to do nothing further whilst another section will assert another example of CFC being spineless
And if that Crown does not disown, in its name, those murders of a people in an oppressed country then that crown endorses them. The crown is basically covered in blood and shit.
16 roads:
I am not a nasty person, at least I don’t think I am, but if somebody gets nasty with me, I’ll get nasty back with them, and I won’t give in.
Why has Ernie not complained about my post?
Kitalba, final, final point from me about this. Laying all the blame on another party and then adopting the role of victim is very tempting to people. Your analysis of a sensitive and difficult subject is distorted by your bias. Conflicts are seldom so one-sided. If you feel that the crown has in some way affected your life then one can only hope that you overcome the effects of the crown’s actions. In a similar way, may the victims of those who hated the crown also overcome their suffering. That is it from me about this.

That’s a really good question you asked about the make-up of the police. As far as I remember they don’t answer that one.
Nine or so years before I was born in 1945 John McCormack’s anti-RC party gained over a third of the votes in local elections for Edinburgh City Council.
Now I would be foolish to think that this sentiment had gone away.
It was 2002 before the Church of Scotland apologised for the “rivers of blood” type racism they advocated in the whole period between the two world wars.
Why are we surprised if there is still residual anti-Irish anti-RC bigotry in Edinburgh/Scotland?
We should be surprised if there were none but most good Scots rejected it though sadly most don’t want to talk about it and until they do examine this character flaw it will only keep it alive.
Tim Tanium @ 11.54 hrs,
As I said two equally ridiculous statements.
I don’t understand how a united Ireland is equated with a separate Scotland, the right for self determination is available via the ballot box. and I do believe that economic argument will and should dictate the eventual decision.
£500 is all it may take to decide the result. So much for democratic principles.
When the BOE will still dictate all things monetary, how is that independence.?
I thank you for your response, hopefully we can agree to disagree and concentrate our our common denominator.
Give NFL continual support and send a message “We are all Neil Lennon ”

I don’t know why mate, but it wasn’t one of your finest pieces of work.
You should get Ernie email number and yous can trade insults all day long.
John O’Neil
You make the simple and stupid mistake of thinking I hate the Crown. How wrong could you be, I served it. One day maybe I can tell you about those times.

Mate,
I honestly think that guy is a prick, he thinks the same of me, the heather ain’t ever gonna turn yellow.
Big Nan, McCormack’s party existed in an age long ago. I suggest that Catholics face problems from a different source now.

Whilst I would like to see the end of Cameron and Co. I do agree with what you say and would have no confidence that me and my like would get a fair hearing in future.
Schools,Church,Team and followers would lose out,I have endured the ” what school” interviews and attitudes,no longer evident but still there.
Regarding NL,I have often criticised his selections and tactics, thats a sporting opinion me vs him, however he has suffered more than anyone and for that he gets my total support.
Come next Saturday vs Aberdeen every Celtic fan should be in attendance, the pub crowd, the stay at home ST holders and the ” nae excitement mob” get out to the game, lets see this Aberdeen mob off and hit them in the pocket.
Just watching the build up to the EPL for todays games , it shows you Arteta blessing himself at one point . Now which wee country and place was he not allowed to do that ?
Go figure .

Is the cup semi live on the telly?

The interesting question is why these things happened in Scotland but not in England.
My own view is that a large part of it was because Scotland had not established itself as a settled nation at peace with itself and comfortable in its own skin at the time of mass Irish migration, whereas England had.
This will be the second of three home games on the bounce where I am unable to use my season tickets because of rescheduling. Wedneday v Killie, today v St Mirren, and 16th v St Johnstone.
If any CQNer local to the EK/Rutherglen area wants a parent and child ticket let me know.
Meanwhile, enjoy the game ghuys.
Ernie, is there any country which is free from prejudice?
Who are Catholics most at risk from:
Billy and Sam from Harthill or ‘The Guardian’ and friends?
Just having a wee look here again today. Firstly, apologies for the swesr words last night. It is no excuse to blame good drink and my anger at the way our manager was treated.
I do see that the story is prominent in most rags today, I am surprised. Hope NFL gets a rousing reception today……4-0 to the good guys.
