They’ve burst your pretty balloon and taken the moon(beams) away

For decades complaints from you, your fathers and their fathers before them were dismissed.  Your accusations that your club and its supporters followed the rules, while others ignored them, were roundly derided as paranoia – a mental illness, no less.

If we’re being generous…..  there’s no denying some of us are paranoid (several million comments on CQN provides at least some evidence), but not most of you, and not on the central theme on which these accusations were based.

Get to bed early tonight, tomorrow the truth will out.  I’ll leave you with a Nat King Cole mood setter to help you chill.  If you watch it until the end you’ll see him mimicking playing a flute, memories of a happier time, for some.

    Paul,

    Excellent

Sums up our thoughts in a few short paragraphs

It was said of Thatcher that she was lucky in her enemies. Well, we have been unlucky in ours. Not solely because of what is now being revealed, but by being tarnished through association; via an old firm label, and a lazy two side of the same coin analysis. In truth, because we – or at least I – have obsessed with them too much.

I look forward to a time when we can focus on the positives for Celtic: playing football our way; how we can make inroads into Europe; how, through the fans, we can enjoy atmospheres and building relationships like tonight.

Most of all I look forward to ignoring them.

Hail Hail and a good night to all

Looking back, to say 1950. Rangers FC did not dominate the 1950s. They did not dominate the 1960s. They did not dominate the 1970s. They did not dominate the 1980s. They did not dominate the 2000s. They are not dominating now. The only decade they dominated was in fact the 1990s, a period when Aberdeen finished second five times. This is not the decade presently under examination, and yet we can be sure that if this period were to be examined to the same extent as that of the SPL, we would find the same, if not worse, pernicious conduct.

CQN a right band of brothers and sisters who should sleep well on the eve of victory. Thanks Paul and thank you all, the faces I know and the ones I have yet to meet.

As old Paddy Gallagher of Bundoran used to say ‘There is no such thing as a stranger, he is just a friend you have still to meet.

I hate those factor things and NEVER watch them. So glad you posted so that I could hear Emanuel sing the Lennon song. It was quality and also very moving. Took so long to post because I couldn’t get the old eyes dry enough to see properly. Just shows how greatness is best displayed in goodness. What a brave and loving mum too to take on such a challenge. Makes me feel ashamed. Many thanks again. But I still won’t be watching them so any of his future singing on here is welcome.

  12. no matter how old you always enjoy your nat king

Hopefully not another false dawn, please let it be.

  13. Still cannot believe the fans tonight.

To be fair I hace struggled to believe the fans all season.

Twitter is awash with Norwich fans saying that they could not believe the atmosphere and noise 4000 of us produced.

The first 20 mins of the game I thoughrt we were at Parkhead.

This was an advert of what our people can do.

Can you imagine playing there every week?

Can you imagine the welcome we would get?

Are the EPL an Sky ready for the noise and atmosphere our community can create.

Riot of fans in Old Trafford “Glasgows Green Army”

Instead of Riot of fans around ol trafford,

    There is a difference

    We know what it is.

They will spend a long time trying to figure it out.

    they were never the peepil.

  15. An Fear Dearg on

I read that young Paddy McNally (a product of the Cliftonville youth system) was included in the squad that travelled tonight. Does anyone know if he got on at all?

  16. Paul67’s article and the accompanying video sounds positively joyful & gleeful…does he know something about this documentary that we don’t.

    In any case,I can’t wait…

  17. Guys, re tomorrow nights documentary.

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade ( or march :) ) but no matter what is revealed it will need the will of the media (more outside of Scotland than inside) to pay attention to the content to make any revelations of value.

By all accounts, the content of the doc will be much akin to what we are already aware of ( ebt’s, unpaid tax, dual contracts ) . Paul and others have expertly kept us informed of what is going on but because of their ‘conflict of interest’, their message has not been taken as seriously as it should be in the wider community. I hope and pray tomorrows doc will do this but will need a large shift of external (I.e. outside Scotland ) media focus to do so.

    Hail! Hail!

  18. An Fear Derg

From the Celtic site match report

“All five substitutes, Robbie Thomson, Denny Johnstone, Jamie Lindsay, Lewis Kidd and Paddy McNally made their first-team bow midway in the second-half and each did well on their debut.

But it wasn’t enough to pull two goals back and share the spoils as Norwich finished the mach 2-0 winners, despite a strong and well composed performance by Celtic.

NORWICH (first-half) (4-2-2-2): Steer; Naughton, Barnett, Ward, Drury; Johnson, Howson; E. Bennett, Hoolahan; Holt, Vaughan

(Second-half) (4-4-2): Rudd, Naughton (Francomb 53, Smith 76), R. Bennett, Nelson, Drury (Lappin 64); Lansbury, Fox, Surman, Pilkington; Pacheco, Wilbraham (Huckerby 76)

CELTIC (4-3-3): Forster (Thomson); McGeouch, K. Wilson, Findlay, Blackman (McNally); Ibrahim (Kidd 66), McCourt, Commons; Watt, Hooper (Johnstone), Stokes (Lindsay 76)
