This is the world Celtic has to operate in

830

There was a fascinating and completely unfounded angle to the Daily Record’s story today about Celtic’s forthcoming AGM, “Celtic’s directors insist Rangers (sic) were dealt with fairly”.

Oh no they don’t.  This is an incredible dose of poison to inject into the Celtic family.

The matter in question is a resolution before the AGM urging Celtic to write to the SFA and Uefa regarding club licencing for season 2011/12.  As a result of this resolution Celtic’s written response to the AGM confirms that they questioned the SFA’s licensing at the time directly with the Association, a fact which had not previously been revealed.  The matter was also raised with Uefa.  Both bodies backed the SFA actions.

I knew how this played out at the time and I was keen for the matter to reach the AGM, where questions could be asked and responses given, but lines like “Celtic’s directors insist Rangers were dealt with fairly” are put out just to mess with you.

The Record addresses another point in the same article, “the Scottish champions are also acutely aware of how official action would heighten tensions between fans of the two clubs”.  If you think Charles Green was the only one on the receiving end of threats and intimidation last year, when these matters came to light, you’re wrong.

Celtic pursued the licencing question as far as they were permitted to do, this is quite different than insisting Rangers (sic) were dealt with fairly.  The SFA are not interested and Uefa are not interested.  As a result of this resolution, this issue can be properly examined in front of the supporters.

The club’s public comments, or often, the lack of public comments, put the safety of their employees and supporters, which was already acutely in focus, first.  Not so long ago office staff at Celtic had to go through training on how to open the mail following specific attacks.

Despite popular mythology, Celtic don’t control the SFA, re-orientating that organisation will take a while.  The issue of licensing in 2011 was pursued as far as the club were allowed to do so.  Get along to the AGM, look the board in the eye and ask your questions on this.  Celtic also have a responsibility – and a lot of formal security advice – to staff, each other and all of us when it comes to public comment.  This is the world Celtic has to operate in.  The sooner we are out of here the better.

I think it looks like Celtic board behind scenes asked the questions we wud want them too. However many of us are very angry an our board, despite not doin anytime wrong gettin brunt. Personally think that for years we called out the hun for their cheating, the staggering injustices we faced while they cheated their way to titles. We were told we were paranoid, were we really serious that from deep within sfa concerted effort was made to favour one team, we were openly mocked an derided for this. Again an again. It hurt it was annoying. But we were proven right. In fact the collusion was greater than we ever imagined.that target we had all these yrs is now insignificant an we have trained our sights elsewhere, we have turned on ourselves an lookin for other targets. Something in our psychy doesn’t like us bein on top an we get unsettled. Things goin to well for us but we can’t get over those acts of the past an still feel the injustice of it an lookin for payback. We won’t ever get closure, i commend those fighting the good fights an hope they get the chance to air their grievances but for me, Im past it, the tribute act are an relevance to me. If they ever get bac to top i personally know they aren’t the same team, Will never treat them same or have the same feelings. A lot of hate in me died when they died an for that Im thankful.

As far as I can see, anybody that has held high office at a Scottish football club should be excluded from the position.

If you look back at earlier posts today, it would appear that just about every senior employee at the SPFL is a hun and a mason.

If the shameless CO leaves, who would step into his shoes?

A Tim or another hun loving mason?

Your attention to your family is indeed commendable, and long may you do so,consider however that others may not have been blessed with your single minded approach and as such are prone to error.

Of course the McCanns made an error, they know it,they are living with it,and what we,the accusers and the sympathisers alike should do,is offer a prayer each night for them and to hope none of us ever are placed in this void of despair.

  14. Exiled, this is no joke: I have friends who are Communist Orthodox Christians. They are also wine fanatics. They adore Georgian wine. It sounds bizarre perhaps but apparently it is that good. Moreover, some family brought up throughout the Soviet Union also testify to its taste. Georgian polyphonic singing is also incredible. Should you watch Russia Today then you may know that Sophie is Georgian.

Heart goes out to the McCanns and I

Pray for them and little Madeline on a regular basis – I have a daughter strikingly similar and same age

But tonight they said Madeline had told them she cried the night before when she woke up and they weren’t there – if your kid told u that would u leave them again ?

Also it was the first I’d heard tonight about the onsite crèche were 11 other kids were being minded why did they not use it ?

My kids go to the resturant or bar with me same as everyone else I know – if they don’t go I don’t go it’s one of the downsides of being on holiday with kids – why did they think they could leave their kids ?

Think about it would you leave a bag of cash in an unlocked apartment on holiday ?

    Scotlands Shame,

I’d say we wanted action, there was recourse for action through the CFCB, might have asked questions is a far cry from taking action, for years we’ve been told things are going on behind the scenes and to date we have seen no evidence of any behind the scenes results they are dead by their own hand, their support structure/enablers have grown stronger so maybe you can tell us exactly what has gone on behind the scenes. Since I first started reading this blog i’ve read the same lies, they are working behind the scenes and we will soon be out of Scotland. The same bull is still being used, and the stupids are still buying it.

  21. leftclicktic oscar in our thoughts on

I said at the start of this our board had the choice through their choices, words &actions in overseeing the liquidation of the huns situation, of being up there with the greats in our clubs history Maley Mcgrory Stein McNeil or lumped in with the likes of Farry Peat Ogilve and other enemies of our club who did not put us the fans first.

This has still to play out but my I have a terrible feeling deep in the pit of my stomach that money is the major motivator in our choices so far ,I pray I am so so wrong.

  24. The amount of money Celtic make in our “old firm” association is a drop in the ocean compared to the level of revenue we could make in the right environment without them.

Make no mistake, the board are watching this situation carefully and know what to do to give the system enough rope to hang themselves and make good our escape.

Anyone who thinks the board are inactive are naïve in my opinion, and going public on their machinations may have a detrimental effect on their aims.

We need to chill out and let them do their thing.

  26. John O’Neil – hope you are well?

As for the premise of Celtic’s action or inaction on these matters – so basically it all boils down to the climate of fear and intimidation.

    Ernie,

Whether they said they’ve done nothing wrong or not isn’t the point – but Kate McCann, on at least one occasion has stated that it’s something that’s she goes over again and again. If they had that time again, they wouldn’t.

Gold stars to those boys who’ve never sinned. Me, I remember being over with the family – Uncles, Aunties, and Grandparents – in Bunbeg, at Kitty’s, and putttin the kids to bed in the hotel room, thinkin they’ll be safe enough while we’re in the bar and somebody is poppin up every ten / fifteen minutes to check on them. They were, we were lucky.

Shite, were yous people never in trouble and needin a bit of help
