If in the 90s, you predicted Celtic would win 12 titles in 13 years by 2024, they would walk away from you. Back then, I took Deapthroat’s advice and followed the money, I knew that David Murray’s leveraged success would ‘crash and burn’ [quote: my brother Kevin, every 20 minutes from 1992-1998], but never in my wildest’ did I expect the domination to be so utterly complete. You would be forgiven for thinking this level of subjugation requires a cooperative loser.
It. Is. All. About. The Money. You and I have to live within our means; under normal circumstances, it comes naturally, we don’t buy luxuries if we can’t pay the fuel bill. For reasons that we could explore further, some men (it’s always men), think that advocating for the spend of imprudently large amounts of money on football players is a test of their [fragile]manhood. Why can’t they just buy the blue pills instead of compensating through all this drama?
19 years ago, while Celtic were on their way to losing a league, I wrote that we were in the early years of a Generation of Domination, which started in 2000. There was a bit of pushback from the hard of thinking, but it was so obvious – Celtic were living within their means, Rangers were driving off a cliff. There was no other plausible future.
In 2024, you don’t need a crystal ball to know the future of Scottish football. We all know how it is going to play out, including the Newco board and fans. But they are all too scared to face up to the reality and do the hard penance – a decade-or-so rebuilding from the ground up, to give their son’s son’s a chance of success.
And for the really hard of thinking, this doesn’t mean we will win every league/cup/game and Celtic will not compensate for whatever you are missing, we will just become and remain the most successful football club in the world. Which is alright, I suppose.
Enjoy these Celtic years!

Some ( maybe ALL ?) of the Celtic Players headed into Buchanan Street last night to a Bar Pub called ” WUNDERBAR”. Apparently, its just like the old Beer Kellars that I sometimes ventured into as a young Man.
Big ADAM and Stephen Welsh did some Karaoke.
I hope that those Celtic youngsters were in their own beds BEFORE the Pub closed at 3AM ?
Shocking that the young ones are out enjoying themselves til all hours !
Im obviously just JEALOUS !
The Bhoys DESERVED a wee Bevvy. Adam and Stephen apparently sung….” CHAMPIONS AGAIN OLE OLE”

A few weeks ago I quoted Charlie Bukowski – a champion of the working-class in California in the 60’s & 70’s, as we all pondered and speculated on the outcome of the title. An esteemed contributor on here, Hot Smoked, suggested a similar quote from Bertrand Russell, so I will now use that one instead – “The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent full of doubt”
This wonderful league title sewn-up with aplomb at Rugby Park was unlike any other, save for Jan Vennegoor’s winner at Tannadice in 2008 – “The Tommy Burns Title.” Then it looked like the race was over as we entered April, but we put Rangers to the sword twice on the run-in, and the rest is history
Any supporter who does not admit to having serious doubts during our current campaign is quite frankly *****….well let’s just say, being super economical with the truth. Up to the Ross County and Dundee results we were firm second favourites. After which most, if not all, changed their opinion to a much more positive one, even although our performances were still leaving a lot to be desired. John Maynard Keynes said, “When the facts change, I change my mind – what do you do, sir?”, and that is what most of the support did with some relish. Bookmakers dealing in billions alter their ‘opinion’ continuously, sometimes by the minute when facts change. Realism is not defeatism and fearing the worst, and voicing those fears, is not resignation to a negative outcome.
This is without a shred of doubt the ‘Brendan Rodgers’ title’. There has been no speaking from hindsight from him. He has been steadfast in his belief – “see you here in May”, when tackled by a large minority of our ‘fans’ who did not want him – “this group will write its own story’, in answering jibes and criticism from pundits and media.
I recall a post- match interview with Lee Griffiths (not playing) after we beat Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox with ten men. Griffiths repeated a few times “aye the gaffer’s got balls” – this referring to Brendan’s decision to send on another attacker in Edouard when we were down to ten after Simunovic’s sending off – Odsonne of course scored a brilliant winner.
Well six years later, Brendan Rodgers has proved that his ‘tackle’ is still in working order!!

That thing you were full of… wasn’t doubt. Doubt does not smell bad.
You were not trying to persuade anyone that we were 2nd favourites. You asserted that the race was over and the title was going to Ibrox. I saw no other poster, however serious their honest doubts were, throw the towel and throw it so early when everything was still to play for.
You can try to position yourself as one of the “serious doubts” crowd, but it won’t wash. We saw what you wrote and there is a world of Timmery between any poster here who simply said “we need to improve or we risk losing this” and your stated words.
The only group of people who agreed with your viewpoint are being lampooned here:-

Things may have been tight coming down the backstretch in the title race but in the end the Hoops sprinted past the winning post in style……just like Willie Mullins thoroughbreds.
Congrats to Brendan and the squad and backroom staff on their latest achievement and a terrific disp;lay last night. Adam has scored crucial goals in his brief time at the club but last night he really drove the team on with that early settling score and the Corkman should be proud of his performance. It was interesting to see the Hoops play with a different tactic without Kyogo and it worked big time. Idah and O’Riley vied with each other for the M T M honour.
Looking forward to the big day against the Saints at the weekend all is good in Paradise.

Celtic were magnificent last night.
If you watch the highlights of Forrest goal, as he wheels away to celebrate, you can see Brendan doing cartwheels on the touch line. Oddly, this was omitted from the tv coverage.
Not a word of praise for our manager in today’s article. Even the hard of thinking must now accept we are lucky to have him. Well done Brendan.
A bit childish I know but I’m looking forward to seeing Raman Bagwash’s greeting’ face tonight as he banters with the hun with the blue tie behind the newsdesk..
Charlie Mulgrew now a BBC Columnist – good article by him on the BBC Sport website now. HH
Follow Follow is hilarious.
Now demanding the return of Bomber Brown and Ian Ferguson culture.

So glad you and the wee guy can make it on Saturday. Hopefully it will be a great Celtic celebration for him (and us all) to see.

Good evening all from the Wyatt Hotel bar. I love Thursdays.
Superbru Round 37 update
The week that saw the league champions declared beyond doubt of mathematical unlikelihoods, also sees a leader for our top prize who cannot be caught. A week where hefty wins by Celtic and Sevco bust most carefully considered predictions and two SPFL draws further reduced the accuracy of our saner prediction makers ( both of them). Leaving us with an unusual group of notorious eejits coming to the fore.
Our top 3 positions this round were:-
SFTB- 10.5 pts (Superbru agents are looking into charges of insider trading)
Maccargo- 9 pt
3= Celticrollercoaster and Aipple (both were on holiday this week and may have got a foreigner to make their picks)- 8.5 pts
Those that suffered from result unpredictability were:-
sammybhoy67- 1pt (leaves him with a 12 point gap to Hutchbhoy for family bragging rights)
2= Por Cierto, ACGR, McCaff, Neilbhoy, BC Milan, Cosy Corner Bhoy and BelmontBrian63- 2 pts
With one round of 6 matches left, I fear our 2 biggest prizes are sown up.
The top 3 positions get cash prizes as does the individual best weekly score.
Our Leaderboard shows:-
One Malloy- 246 pts (a 19 point lead- Hugh will be our winner)
Billy Bhoy- 227 pts ( a healthy lead and should retain 2nd place)
Leggy— 219 pts (back in the top3 but his winning stool has a shaky leg)
4. BC Milan (drops out of the prize money this week but is still in close contention)- 218.5
5. Hopeful Hoops—214 (outside chance)
6. roy croppie – 213 (smaller outside chance)
7= Nawlite- 209 (needs some unlikely results)
7= Bognorbhoy- 209 (ditto)
9. SFTB -208.5 (needs to do some illegal tampering with the scoring system)
10. Call me Gerry- 204.5 (Course & distance winner but now beyond the power of prayer)
Our best weekly total remains Hutchybhoy’s 17 pts so he not only has family bragging rights but he’s got the money
Down in the depths in the race to the glue factory, we have :-
Friesdorfer- 128.5 pts (already in a tube of Bostik with an unassailable deficit )
BelmontBrian63 -140 pts(even predicting defeats for Celtic and Sevco will not get you wood)
Chalmersbhoy- 142 pts -even missing a few weeks has not dragged you down to Friesdorfer)
Gutenberg- 142.5- gallant attempt to make others feel better)
Cosy Corner Bhoy- 143 – and giving not a toss about that minor matter
Our final deadline is
Sat 18th May where we have 3 kick offs at 12.30 and 3 more at 3 pm.
The prizes will be :-
Winner- £95
Second- £55
Third- £35
Best Weekly Total- Currently Hutchybhoy with 17 pts- £75
P.S. I will announce the final positions whenever I sober up at the weekend. I am also going to launch a Superbru predictor for the Euros which starts in 29 days. I am going to suggest that we all pay entry of £20 (details to follow) and the top 3 performers will get 60%, 30% and 10% of whatever we raise to donate to their own charity of choice. Hope to engender some summer interest even if Celtic are not playing

Charlie Mulgrew’s BBC article wrongly Staates That JF.is Joint top Celtic Player for trophies won. That honour goes to Bobby Lennox.
Just poured a large glass of Dalwhinnie Winter’s Gold and opened bottle of Budweiser Budvar – well done, Celtic!

There were many doubts during the season. A quick look back at comments during and after certain games will clarify that.
From my own perspective i did express some apprehension after certain games , especially about entertainment. However I never doubted Brendan, I have always stated that he is by far the best fit for the job.
HH.
Congratulations to the players, coaching staff (especially Brendan), Board and above all to the supporters.
In J. Morans Bar. Nice pub, good prices and 2 lads wearing Celtic shirts. Don’t think they’ve slept since the game. 🤣🤣

if he was playing for Fulham, Bournemouth etc, how much would he go for, £ 60/70 million ?
Just because we are little Timmy in a Mickey Mouse league, why should we sell him for less ???

Paul67 et al
Not sure the use of the word “subjugation” is either helpful or appropriate. Certainly does not offer a positive message nor one that fits in with Brother Walfrid’s formative ideals. In fact it would be more at home on another side of the City. Tant Pis.
Unless I’ve missed it no mention of Brendan in there either, cant be easy Paul seeing our manager redeem himself in what at times has been a difficult season, re-establish himself as a top manager, and once again on the right side of history, and it has to be said on the right side of Dermot.
That’llhurtCSC
