THOMSON IN CHARGE AT HAMPDEN

CRAIG THOMSON will take charge of Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden on Sunday.

The 46-year-old referee was in the man in the middle when the two sides last met in the goalless draw at Parkhead last month.

And the Hoops will be hoping they have better luck than when Thomson was the match official in the final Premiership encounter of last season when Andy Considine scored the only goal on Flag Day.

He flashed a red card to Dons defender Shay Logan after the final whistle following the full-back’s clash with Hoops players and gestured at the home support.

Thomson will be assisted at the weekend by Douglas Ross and David Roome with Nick Walsh as fourth official.

Meanwhile, the opening semi final on Saturday between Hearts and Inverness Caley Thistle will be refereed by Don Robertson.

Graeme Stewart and Sean Carr will run the lines while John Beaton is fourth official.
